Command Level Officers

Executive Officer & Commanding Officer

Command Level Officers are those commissioned players who have worked their way through the commissioned rank structure and attained a senior position as Executive Officer, XO, or Commanding Officer, CO.

XO and CO

The Commanding Officer is the most senior commissioned player on a SIMM, responsible for the welfare, training and development of all commissioned players beneath him or her.  The Executive Officer is the second highest commissioned player on a SIMM, responsible for helping the CO carry out his or her duties.  Holding a minimum rank of Lieutenant Commander for XO and Commander for CO, the Commanding Level Officers will be Command Officer Training Course (COTC) graduates with a considerable amount of experience in the fleet and will hold certain moderator privileges on the forum.

The selection process for XOs and COs is quite involved.  Candidates must have a good record as it pertains to activity levels, posting frequency, mission planning, mission execution, overall contribution to fleet, demonstration of teamwork, and an absence of any in/formal complaints. CO's are selected by Shadowfleet administrators with consultation of the command level officer membergroup. XO's are selected by the SIMMs CO and are submitted for approval to the site administrators. In the event that a CO and XO role is simultaneously available site admins should try to select a CO so they can choose their XO. In the event a CO is not readily found the administrators may choose the XO.

Site Administrator (Admirals)

Site Administrators (Admirals) are the most senior commissioned players in the entire fleet, responsible for every person in the fleet. This is a position that carries with it administrator privileges on the forum. These players approve and assign new players, appoint CO's, oversee site maintenance along with other various duties as needed.

Administrators are selected by current administrators as needed. Administrators should seek the advise and counsel of the command level officer group to ensure player satisfaction is considered in this selection process.
