Dear Admins,

With the demise of the Tempest, her awards ceremony has been cut short having only presented the length of service awards.

It would be a fitting send off if the awards ceremony was completed. The players deserve their months of commitment and writing to be formally recognised. It's not fair that the Tempest is the odd one out when it comes to awards.

How might this be achieved?

The former players decide amongst themselves.
Or
An admin(s) reads through the recent missions and assigns.

It's sad the Tempest had to end, but let's not allow the player's efforts go unrecognised and give them a leaving gift to take with them to their new ships.

We started discussing it, but didn't have any immediate stand-outs to award, and before we could work on it seriously, our ship was yanked out from under us (the announcement was premature, IMO) and rushed things.

I suppose K'lizh and I could look over the categories (the same as previous years, I hope?) and come up with nominations, though this is awkward with us both being in the running as well. No other admin is going to take the time to read through all that or understand what's going on in the story to judge posts in context. So I'm in favour of player nominations and votes, subject to admin approval and oversight.

How about I post the award categories and the Tempest players respond with nominations of who among them they think is deserving. If they'd rather it be private, they can send their nominations to a neutral admin. Then we can hold votes for any awards with multiple nominees.

Unfortunately, half the crew were new arrivals in the last mission and some good players left before it, which limits the perspective a bit.

Good idea. It would be good if you can post the eligibility list - to include those players who were present since the last awards ceremony?
