Is STO Canon?

I was thinking about this before, and I agree we should probably write down major NPCs. What I thought we could do, since the Wiki idea has been rejected a few times, is just simply make a subboard for Major NPCs (and maybe also major/moderatley important species that have been made up in some mission). These would be people such as leaders of planets/empires, important admirals or other significant figures, etc. Their creators can write up a mini bio and post it on the subboard and maybe add a line for anyone else involved in the creation and then if somone else wants to play that NPC, they can ask the author for permission and any relevant information. Then, the page about that NPC can be updated with anything new that happened to them. We could also make the board just a general "Important Shadowfleet Lore" place and include major events. A far reaching conspiracy within the heart of the Federation should impact everyone, not just the SIMM who had that mission. Likewise, a war or conflict should be felt by more than the SIMM on the front lines.

We do not consider STO canon.

The notion I recall was something like "It can be considered canon if dramatically approriate and does not conflict with a primary source" (i.e, you can draw from it as long as it's not established elsewhere).

My word is far from law though. Just my 2 cents.
