Tear the ship apart. Ardyn's mind moved almost at light speed as she was backing away from the helm. "Tear the ship apart! Captain, you're a genius!" Heading over to one of the secondary stations, she switched the console into a helm position, still keeping an eye on Kimball.  Giving T'Ra a nod that hopefully was received as Trust me, Ardyn began the sequence. "Computer, begin MVA process authorization Jaeger-Delta-Seven-Five.  Commence override of all thruster systems. Full stop."

The ship lurched as the sections began separating into their separate components. With each section of the warp drive separated, each section could consolidate its' own power, and manually override the warp so they could halt. With that taken care of,  Ardy continued to point her phaser at Kimball, ready to stun at the first sign of any relapse into his former Borg life.

[Bridge]

EQ's face plate began to move.  It opened up and exposed a socket where an implant had previously sat.  The skin itself was burnt and leathery and grotesque.

But his good eye's landed on the nearest person, Ardyn.  And he step forward with screwdriver in hand.  "I am Borg.  Resistance is futile" he repeated.

When the Bridge shook, EQ's body waved back and forth slightly.  It was like he was an automaton directed by a force outside his body.  But he regained his footing and advanced again.

T'Ra arched both brows in absolute surprise as the flight lieutenant professed her brilliance. She had not thought Jaeger would take her remark so seriously or literally. Ach du meine gte, T'Ra thought. She was really going to tear the ship apart. Before she could say anything, Jaeger gave a nod and proceeded. But, thankfully it was a much better plan than T'Ra had anticipated. Just the MVA.

"Weapons are charging to fire!" someone called out, not for the first time. "And we can't seem to stop them." As pressing as the situation was, something else commanded her attention more. She left her position in the center of the bridge, approaching the liberated borg to attempt a Vulcan neck pinch.

The ship pulled itself out of warp, three individual ships in an attack vector.  The ship seemed to know what it was doing, and all three segments opened fire, phasers currently, at another target.  That target was one of those vessels that looked both old, but armed, as they were firing into an obscure mass in the nebula.

After a few moments, there was a ping from the ship to ship communications in an attempt to hail the Discovery, but the external comm systems were locked.

Finishing his interrogation.. or at least going as far as he could before the issues of the ship became too much, Nevir dashed through the corridors to get to a turbolift, stepping into it just as the ship shook.  Unbeknownst to him, the other vessel had started to fire in self defense.

Stepping out onto the bridge, Nevir was shocked to see Kimball in full Borg mode... more interesting still, the ship was flying on it's own, as Jaegar wasn't currently manning the station... in fact she looked like she was about to fire at the Borg.  The ship losing control was one thing... but Kimball?  Something was not right.

"Can I assume that we aren't actually firing on an alien vessel?"

"Ardyn, stay on Kimball, I've got the helm." Alex quickly moved down to the seat, keeping a wary eye out. Though his attempts to regain directional control was still fruitless, he did notice one spot of good news. "Captain, the secondary and tertiary bridges are reporting that they have some control over their sections by switching away from the automated settings. It appears whatever is affecting us may be currently limited to the primary hull."

Frustratingly, his own console remained unresponsive. "I recommend ordering the other two sections out of this nebula while they still can."

EQ did not even look at the Captain as she approaced.  The Borg was focused on his first victim.  So, he let the had fall on his neck.

But the vulcan pinch was not full proof.  Long ago the Borg had adapted to such attacks just as they had adjusted to other attacks.  And that memory was still availabe to the Kimball, like it was locked away in his DNA.

So, he naturally twisted away from the hand before the nevers were pinched.  But twisting away caused him to loose focus on Jaeger and left him directly in the path of the helm console.  So he streched out his left hand.

And several tubuals extended from it.  They connected to the duty station.  And then he had access...

[sick bay to corridor]

The feel of the ship was wrong. He swore he felt the ship stopped. Something was up. He quickly stood up from his chair. He had decided he was not going to stick around.

So he exited the forgotten sick.bay. The doors swooshed behind him. The man had no idea where he was.

"Computer, my friend," he said. "What is going on?"

Nothing.

That was a sign. The broken was not fiixes yet. The civilan moved to the black hallway display in the wal. He pressed the display with his hand. "Show me layout of the ship," he said.

Nothing.

Bitting his lower lip. Of course, the computer was no responding. So he was going to play dirty. He moved to a door. The door would not open. He had tried each door. On the last door attempt he slammed his fist against the dooor. "Damn it, OPEN UP!"

And several tubules extended from it.  They connected to the duty station.  And then he had access...

Ardyn continued backing away as Kimball continued his advance, still succumbing back to the Borg. T'Ra attempted a Nerve pinch, but it wasn't successful. Keeping her phaser still focused on him, she tried to give him as much time to fight it, but as soon as he began probing the systems, she couldn't wait any longer. Setting her phaser to a random stun setting, she fired.

"Merde!" Alex instinctively shoved himself backwards as Kimball approached, falling out of his chair. Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted the open access panel, the console innards having been left exposed from when they had tried to regain control earlier. Scrabbling forwards, he ducked under Kimball and yanked an isolinear chip. Sorry EQ, but we can't let you do what you're doing.

Using the chip to short circuit the power control unit and reversing the console's polarity, Alex ducked as the entire display sparked and smoked, a jolt of electric charge bursting up and through the tubules leading to Kimball's arm as Ardyn opened fire.

EQ shook as volts and watts of electricity ran threw his body.  His face plate maybe Borg tech, but his body was biological.  And thus susceptible to the damage electricity would do to it.

His eyes landed on Alex.  They had not been close friends.  But his eyes were asking for help, despite his lack of control over the rest of his body.

And then his body had had enough.  He fell backward and pulled the tubulas off the station as he went.  Onto the hard deck floor.

[Bridge]

The quick thinking of Alex probably saved them from losing complete control, as the tactical panel flashed and knocked out the tactical officer on duty.  He was a scientist and had some expertise with ops, but the First Officer went into command mode and jumped behind the weapons panel.

"Damn.... " he stated, as Kimball was knocked out.  "His nanites work fast... they're isolated to helm systems, but we've lost command functions... including the self destruct." he said, looking up at the screen.

One of the two ships had turned to defend itself from the ship, but the second ship kept going, even with torpedoes striking their dorsal section.  They were interested in a dust cloud still, but why?  Was it really a Borg cube?

"That doesn't make sense... if that's Borg they would both be focused on them... and frankly, they don't need us to defend a cube or sphere..." he said, looking at the panel and watching the weapons engage themselves.  He noted that they weren't completely locked out, but anything that would stop their assault was locked.

The other two hulls were able to make minor adjustments, but they couldn't turn and leave the nebula.  The three of them were stuck until ended.  And that did not exactly make him feel confident.

Frustrated, he glanced at the screen, displaying the battle of ahead of him.  He was waiting to see a Borg ship emerge from the dust, and instead there was a flash of what looked like shielding, but a flash of a fin.  It had to be a fin.

"Wait a minute.... " he said, looking at the current readouts.  "Inzjana, scan their target... I think that's a massive bio-sign.  A space born creature."

BRIDGE - SCIENCE STATION ONE

Inzjana felt something that in all her years she had never felt before and that was fear! She was confused by it, even repelled by it but could only sit and watch what was unfolding before her between Kimball, Jaeger and even the captain.

The Captain's nerve pinch failed and yet she still did nothing, frozen to the spot.

When Ardyn fired at the Borg and the Phaser had no effect she still did nothng. Alex helped out instead. All her training, all her capabilities, her physical strength as a heavy worlder and yet she still couldn't do anthing but look on in horror. It was though being shot by Johan had taken away all her confidence, even her well cultured control. In short - Inzjana felt helplessly racked with fear.

Inzjana only partly heard the commander and it took her a moment even to register what he had said, "A...Aye, aye Commander," she said as if it was all a bad dream.

Finally registering what the commander had asked of her, she forced herself to ignore the fear and the vision of seeing the Phaser pointed at her, that just wouldn't go away no matter how much she tried to just let the thought pass through her minds eye without judgement and just what it is, a bad thought.

Interestingly enough the sensors still read that there was a Borg Cube in the nebula and a terminus of a Transwarp Conduit, like she had informed the captain of earlier. But Inzjana saw the 'fin' the Commander was talking about as well and they can't both be hallucinating, so she adjusted the parameters of the sensor array and search for biosignitures instead of the usual things to search for other than a life form and was taken aback by what the sensors were telling her was not your standard every day spatial object;

"Aye commander," her voice still shaking along with her hands. "There does seem to be a large space-born biological life form at the centre of  the nebula."

"Be advised though commander, that sensors are still reading what appears to be the terminus of a Transwarp Conduit along with a Borg Cube, at least that is what it appears to be according to the LCARS database," taking a breath more to calm herself that actually requiring one at that time, Inzjana added, "the Borg Cube seems to be damaged and is leaking pion particles, although I cannot ascertain the full extent of the damage at present."

[Bridge]

Nevir listened, mulling over the information.  "Pion particles.... " he said, looking back at the screen.

"We're being fooled!  Our computers are reading it as a massive threat to the ship so that we don't try to go after it.... Captain, I think I understand!" he said, bringing up the weapon controls.

"Why would we have weapon controls if the creature can make our ship fire on its own?  Why scramble the sensor readings?  And why did Kimball suddenly have his Borg implants activate?  It doesn't want to take over our ship... just use it to defend itself."

Nevir activated the targeting scanners, which were also advising against the 'Borg cude'... but the other ships were fair game.  "Overriding manual control on the other hulls, activating MVA firing sequence..." he said, looking at the current status.  "Damn.. Gamma isn't responding to helm controls.  And we don't have pilots ther-"

Nevir raised his head with an idea.  "Computer, location of Don Adams."

"Mr. Adams is on Deck 13"

=/\= "Tekin to Adams.  You're close to the battle bridge for the hull you're on.  I can't automate the helm controls there, so I need a trained pilot.  Go to the forward end of the deck and you'll see it.  Quickly, we don't have much time."  =/\= he said, as they neared their first target.

"Inzjana, while we're in range, try to scramble their targeting sensors... disrupt their systems." he said, watching the screen in front of him.

"Attack Pattern Delta 5, targeting weapons and defense systems." he said, putting in the commands.  Once Adams got to the helm, the pattern would display for him to use, ensuring that the ships functioned as one.

The three sections surrounded the first ship, moving in a rotation around it, and all weapons were firing one of two targets on each side of the ship.  Their shields were strong, but compared to a Federation vessel they went down after a few volleys.  From there, it only took a few shots to disable their weapon systems.

"Direct hit!  And we just got engine control back... it's working.  Targeting the second ship!" he said, taking the Discovery to disable the second ship.

The civilian pounded on the last door. He came to conclusion these are crew members quarters. He had no access to them. Then he was summoned.

Battle bridge? He thought. What in the world was going on?

=/\= Okay, will do,  =/\=  he replied.

Which way was that. He played back his steps from sick bay. Recalled the pull of gravity pull from the ship which directed him the direction. He quickly ran down the corridor. The door which was all the way at the end was the forward of the ship. Of course! Why did he not see that door before?

As he reached the doors he was stunned of the battle bridge. The nebula on the screen. They were attack some kind of ship. The other parts of Discovery was on it too. He never imagine to be seeing this. It was awesome. His brown eyes were big cause he was shock.

"What the hell?" The Officer who was on the command chair in the battle bridge. Sadly, it was an Ensign. Another Ensign was at the helm was trying to work the helm.

Don spotted the Ensign on the helm. He placed his hand on the shoulder of the youngster Trill's thin right shoulder. "Commander Nevir had ordered me to take over the helm," he told them.

The Trill turned his head to look at the Ensign who was playing Captain on the Battle Bridge. The step-in-Captain nodded his head.

Don took the seat of the helm. His eyes was running the control pad. It was all feeling like the days when he was serving. Punching in a few numbers to allow the control recognize him as a pilot. He had access. At that prompt the console was showing him what was needed him to know.

The Trill ensign moved to the navigation seat.

Quote
"Attack Pattern Delta 5, targeting weapons and defense systems." he said, putting in the commands.  Once Adams got to the helm, the pattern would display for him to use, ensuring that the ships functioned as one

The civilian was following the attack pattern. "Damn. He's good," Don said to the crew on the Battle bridge. This was all feeling good. He had missed it. Was he getting drawn back to Starfleet or was it just a fools thought.

Nevir raised his head with an idea.  "Computer, location of Don Adams."

"Mr. Adams is on Deck 13"

"Direct hit!  And we just got engine control back... it's working.  Targeting the second ship!" he said, taking the Discovery to disable the second ship.

The Vulcan neck pinch seemed to have no affect on the liberated borg, who twisted away before she could apply maximum pressure. T'Ra did not get a chance to try again, a phaser blast suddenly shooting in her general direction. Thankfully, Ardy wasn't just a good pilot but a crack shot to boot. "Well done, Miss Jaeger," T'Ra offered, a brow arched in appreciation, grateful that the young flight lieutenant had managed to avoid hitting her in the process.

In the brief moment that T'Ra had been occupied with EQ and Ardy, the rest of the bridge seemed to have dove straight into battle. "Excellent," she said in response to the status update. Engine control was of paramount importance. "How are our comm systems? Are we able to communicate with the opposing force?"

"Thanks," Ardyn smirked as she turned back around to assess the damage. With the situation under control,  Ardyn worked on the secondary hull to try and work around the lockout on the helm, warily keeping an eye on the downed EQ, in case he would come up again. However, something else outside of the viewscreen caught her eye, a giant fin sweeping out the thick, orange nebula.

BRIDGE - SCIENCE STATION ONE

Inzjana felt something that in all her years and that was fear!

Interestingly enough the sensors still read that there was a Borg Cube in the nebula and a terminus of a Transwarp Conduit, like she had informed the captain of earlier. But Inzjana saw the 'fin' the Commander was talking about as well and they can't both be hallucinating, so she adjusted the parameters of the sensor array and search for biosignitures instead of the usual things to search for other than a life form and was taken aback by what the sensors were telling her was not your standard every day spatial object;

Ardy turned to the scientist in confusion. "Wait, hold on there for a moment, There's a Cube out there?!"
