POSTING AS NPC - JOHAN SPIELENBERG

BRIG

Johan rubbed his jaw, more out of contemplation than soreness after the Commander had decked him, something he really wasn't expecting and ending up in the brig certainly wasn't according to plan. But no matter, he new they were out there and had been for some time...

T'Ra was struggling to get the sensors to cooperate when the console suddenly lost power and the bridge was once again plunged into darkness. Unlike the last time though, the emergency lights did not come back on. So much for a hard reboot, she thought, activating her wrist light, which was thankfully not connected to the computer systems. Other officers were quick to do the same, many grunting as they did so.

To be asked so directly.. it threw him off guard for a moment, but his head turned towards the civilian, though the arms remained where they were.  "How do I know?  Because I've worked with her for a long period of time, and I specifically approved her transfer to this ship."

The question about the ocular device was interesting as well, but for different reasons.  "Technically speaking, it is made from Federation technology.  Every science officer has a specialty that they select in the Academy.  Strictly speaking, Starfleet is first and foremost a research organization.  Inzjana's specialty is innovations.  That device she has is basically a tricorder with a HUD.  I should know, I used it when we rescued you... you would still be on that planet without it."

As the Commander talking the civilian had kept his eyes on him. He was listening with his attentive ears.
Quote

The Bajoran shook his head.  "A Romulan spy makes no sense on this vessel.  Even ignoring the tactical void that putting a spy here would be, the Romulans have no need for a spy.  You remember the Shinzon incident?  We aren't buddy buddy, but there are cordial relations between the two of us.  Look, you have to also consider the source.  Do you know who her assailant was?  A racist department head... one who was at the end of his Starfleet career and he knew it.  He was a damned fool who wanted to be the hero and ignored the rest of his department.  But... I should have seen this coming."

He felt somewhat out of line with his accusation. His hands behind his back let loose as his arms swung to relax. His face features soften as he was feeling stupid. His dark brown eyes turned down to look to the floor.

Seriously. My mouth is like my flying. Reckless. He thought.

Then he himself had added fire to the racist attack. Hell. He had a thing against Romulans himself. He was not going to bring that up.

Then he had to ask. "So, Commander, she is Romulan and not a Vulcan?" He asked as he was looking up and past Tekin's shoulder. He had try to see what was going on, but he was was looking more to the exit of Sick Bay.

Nevir turned to him and smirked.  "That.. is a very personal question.  Not my place to talk about her without her knowledge." he said, looking back at her.

"When she comes back, ask her to report to the Bridge... if she's at least clear of duty." he said, turning on his heels.  "I have a job to do...." he said, walking out to head to the Brig.

[Brig]

The first officer stormed in, going straight to Johan.  "You son of a Cardassian... was it worth it?" he said, standing in front of the former CSO.  Regardless of his answer, Nevir walked over and picked up a PADD.

"This was a referral to Daystrom.  I had it written up after I dismissed you, in case you decided you couldn't work with your team.  I was about to give you the opportunity to use your brain without dealing with pointed-ear people.  And you decided instead to attack a fellow officer.  With a maxed out phaser.  You are lucky it malfunctioned, or you would be out the airlock.  I will give you one chance... convince me." he said, unaware that the ship was about to be hit again.

On the bridge, what looked like a power surge turned sinister as the ship was suddenly put into Red Alert and went to warp without helm control.  Weapon systems came online, and phaser were charged with torpedoes. Sensors were activated, and it looked like they were searching for something.

It had been a hard pill for Alex to swallow, knowing that Johan had attempted, and very nearly succeeded in killing Inzjana. Knowing Tekin was making it his top priority didn't help with the distraction much as they started to realize there was something seriously wrong with their ship. Clambering out of the Jeffries tube and back on the bridge, he made his way to the conn. "What on Earth's going on?" Alex asked T'ra, watched the stars flicker by on the viewscreen.

"I don't know," T'Ra replied, "and I don't like not knowing." It was almost enough to make her scowl. Some of the lights and consoles flickered back to life. "Do we have any mobility, Mr. Wu?" she began to ask, but the ship suddenly zoomed forward, causing her to stumble backwards a bit.

As the commander strut out of sick bay. The red lights had gone off. Don folded his arms as he sat down. He was waiting for the female to come about. Plus, he figured he stay put. MEDICAL LAB - POST OP RECOVERY

They say your life flashes by when you have a near death experience and Inzjana found it interesting that it was seemed to be mostly true. As far as she was concerned though it seemed to be of her time aboard the IRS Xelaya; an experimental third generation Scimitar Class warbird designed as a floating laboratory equipped with the latest technology and technology that at that time hadn't even come on the market - so to speak.

Protected by Transphasic Shields and a Quantum Phase-Shift Cloaking Device, the Xelaya was ten times more powerful than the first Scimitar built by the Remans and used by Shinzon.

Inzjana didn't find any of this out until much later on Vulcan of course, so all she could think of now during her state of unconsciousness was her younger self exploring the Xelaya as much as possible during break from lessons and tests that Inzjana had no idea what they were for. She never seen any of the crew of the Romulan ship as the crew were blocked off by large piston-doors that cut the labs off from the normal operations of the personnel assigned to the Xelaya.

The science labs aboard, of which Inzjana explored and asked questions about, would make even the Daystrom Institute jealous. Inzjana's mother, T'Vaal, is a Vulcan molecular biologist and her Romulan father was a specialist genetic engineering, so that gave Inzjana some of a clue as to what they did on the ship that is now supposed to be destroyed. The only problem was that no one could say exactly what happened to the Xelaya, a ship powerful enough to take on a fair portion of Starfleet and come out of the battle without even so much as a scratch. So what happened to it? Something Inzjana believes she may never discover.

At the moment, in her flash back she was sitting at a computer desk playing a computer game designed to stimulate puzzle solving capabilities when her mother had exited that lab opposite. Inzjana happened to look up and had just caught a glimpse of three tanks filled with some form of liquid. She asked her mother later that night, well, what passed as night on a starship any way, what those tanks were for. As her mother tucked her in she said, "You will find out soon enough my little Starchild." And with that had left her room to sleep. Later on when her mother and her were living on T'Khasi - Vulcan to the Federation - did Inzjana discover that her name was an ancient Vulcan-Romulan name meaning Starchild. Apt seeing that she was born on a Starship.

***

The fog was finally lifting and Inzjana could hear a conversation between two adult males as far as Inzjana could discern and the memories faded back to the far reaches of her mind from whence they came as she opened her eyes with a wince.

With a weak voice Inzjana asked Doctor Soong, "why am I in Sickbay, doctor?" Looking around the room, she seen Addams standing a few feet away from the biobed as the nurses moved away to make their reports and deal with the instruments. The last thing Inzjana remembered was talking with Don in the lounge and from then on it was blank, apart from a rather confusing memory of a ventilation shaft.

Inzjana went to get up from the biobed and felt a sudden pain go through her shoulder where she had been shot, but now it was manageable and little more than a nuisance of discomfort. Inzjana laid back down after lifting the sheet noticing that from the waist up, she was naked.

"It would also be agreeable if someone could replicate me a new uniform please..." Inzjana stated embarrassed.

Don thoughts was inturrepted by the embarass female who was asking for replicated new clothes. "Sure, I handle that for you," he told her. The medical staff had enough on their plate.

He turned toward and walked to the replicator. "Computer, one fresh Starfleet uniform for Lieutenant Inzjana," he asked. The familiar hum and light of materlized material was being made for the order. "Thank you, Computer."  He figured he ask about being Romulan later.

Taking the fresh made uniform from the replicator and he walked back to her. "For payment...I need to know something," he realized his intentions for laters are never really ever gonna fly. It was do it now. Action first. Though he dropped his voice down for her and his ears to hear. "The Commander told me the ill fellow who shot you was the Head of Science. The spy part I take the Commander's word that your not. However, the Romulan part. Are you?" He bluntly asked in a whisper.

If she does explain or not, he would then tell her. "The Commander had summoned you on the bridge. They are indeed a need of a good Science officer for this red alert." He threw in a small joke in.

MEDICAL BAY - POST OP

Inzjana appreciated the sentiment as Don went and replicated her a new uniform and as he brought it back to the biobed she said "thank you Mr. Addams," with sincere appreciation but raising her eyebrow at the mere hint of payment. It was when he told her she had been SHOT, by the CHIEF SCIENCE OFFICER no less, that she raised both eyebrows, now in surprise that evolved in to a frown?

"I...I was shot?" She asked with an unintentional emotional inflection in her voice, "By the Chief Science Officer?"

She tried in vain to keep her emotions in check, and was only partly successful in that endeavour. She couldn't be blamed, for this was no ordinary set of circumstances; Shot by a fellow crew member and immediate superior officer no less, waking up in a ventilation shaft and then in sickbay and now to find out what had happened, after no memory, it took a lot of her strength just to stop herself from bursting in to tears.

On top of that, now Don talks about accepting what the commander said about being a Romulan spy and asked her if she was a Romulan, this was getting too much even for a Vulcan.

It took many moments to calm herself, concentrating on her breathing and quieting her mind, before she could even turn back to look at Addams. Hoping her face didn't portray the way she really felt, Inzjana cleared her throat and answered his question about being Romulan, after all, it was on record anyway, so why he didn't just ask the Library Computer was beyond her.

"My father was Romulan, Mr Addams, my mother is Vulcan." She paused for a moment to regain more control. "I was born on the science research vessel IRS Xelaya, a third generation Scimitar Warbird, which by all accounts was destroyed not long after my mother, T'Vaal and I, returned to Vulcan when I was seven. Vulcan is all I know, and have lived as such most my life."

Quote

If she does explain or not, he would then tell her. "The Commander had summoned you on the bridge. They are indeed a need of a good Science officer for this red alert." He threw in a small joke in.

Inzjana went to get up, two nurses assisted her keeping her modesty with the sheet that was covering her. Being six foot, the nurses had to reach higher than normal and were appreciative that it did take long for their patient to get dressed. Only her boots remained, as Don had told her about the commander's request.

"I believe I am quite fit for duty." She said confidently as she walked over to the nearest mirror to make sure she was presentable enough. It was difficult though, seeing as every step she took felt like she was walking on sponge, not that she would admit to that, after all she had a duty to crew and had spent enough time, it seems, alseep. Inzjana walked out in to the hallway, leaving the protesting medical staff behind, her "Thanks."

"Aye Captain," Inzjana stated, her voice shaking.

Moving to science station one, Inzjana paused wondering if she could do what was asked of her for a fleeting moment and then went to log in and transfer all sensor telemetry to her station, but before she could, her hands shook hovering over the touch panel.
Bringing her shaking under control, her shoulder aching somewhat, Inzjana took a deep slow breath in and out and set to work. Yes back to work, best thing for you, she thought.

The sensor telemetry began streaming its data and just as Inzjana was getting a handle on things, the universe moved hard to port yet again; The sensors picked up something she was hoping never to see just as Kimball stated, "Resistance is futile".

"Captain, sensors are reading a possible Borg Cube within the nebula and graviton flux densities would indicate the terminus of a transwarp conduit," Inzjana stated as stoically as she could. She had to add 'possible', because the way the ship had been behaving, it could all be false readings.

Despite that so far, coming back to Starfleet she had been injured multiple times. Had killed her aunt, who was about to kill the president. Imprisoned on an unknown world. Shot by a fellow crewman and was now by all accounts about to be assimilated. Why did she come back to Starfleet?

Tear the ship apart. Ardyn's mind moved almost at light speed as she was backing away from the helm. "Tear the ship apart! Captain, you're a genius!" Heading over to one of the secondary stations, she switched the console into a helm position, still keeping an eye on Kimball.  Giving T'Ra a nod that hopefully was received as Trust me, Ardyn began the sequence. "Computer, begin MVA process authorization Jaeger-Delta-Seven-Five.  Commence override of all thruster systems. Full stop."

The ship lurched as the sections began separating into their separate components. With each section of the warp drive separated, each section could consolidate its' own power, and manually override the warp so they could halt. With that taken care of,  Ardy continued to point her phaser at Kimball, ready to stun at the first sign of any relapse into his former Borg life.
