[Deck 13 - Junior Officer Quarters - Alex Campbell]
Alex sat quietly near his bed, reading a novella and listening to some ancient Earth music. After the alien debacle some nice relaxation was good to find - the
Discovery of course always needed some sort of repair, but Campbell finally had some free time.
=/\=Donovan to Campbell=/\=
Or at least that's what Alex thought. Upon hearing the Chief's voice, Alex quickly scrambled over to his Commbadge that was haphazardly placed on a table on the other side of the room.
=/\=This is Campbell, what do you need Chief?

Alex said, exasperated that his free time was probably getting cut short.
=/\=Report to deck six, I need you to assist in repairing the replicators in the forward lounge. I trust you can handle it easily. Donovan out.
"Computer...pause music?" Alex said quizzically. He was having trouble understanding why out of all the people in Engineering
he would get chosen with the honor to go fix a some stupid replicators. No matter - Alex wasn't about to argue with the Chief Engineer since he was so new to the ship.
[Deck 13 - Hallway]
After getting dressed, Alex strutted through the hallway with his toolkit as he angrily brushed by whoever happened to pass him.
"Deck 6" Alex demanded as he was entering the turbolift. The computer gave its usual flutter of beeps, and with a quick jolt the turbolift began speeding towards its destination.
[Deck 6 - Forward Lounge]
Alex bursted into the forward lounge and immediately noticed another engineer already working on one of the replicators on the wall. The engineer in question, a female human Petty Officer, seemed perplexed. Once Alex approached her he immediately to bombard her with questions...
...this moment never came. As soon as the gap between them closed the Petty Officer began firing off thoughts of her own.
"Ah! Ensign...Campbell I think isn't it? Good to finally see Chief sent someone to help me figure out whattheheck is going on because honestly I don't even know..." the Petty Officer spoke with the speed of an auctioneer, leaving almost no room for Alex to even get a word in. For heavens sake he didn't even know her name!
"...and of course then this guy he comes and complains about the friggen replicator I mean civilians amiright? Well that's what happened" Alex realized that he barely heard half of the story of what happened. It - probably - didn't matter and Alex certainly did not want to have to listen to her ramble again.
Alex finally had his chance to speak at least.
"Ah Petty Officer Ms..." Alex stared for a moment as he mind blanked. He honestly had no idea who sh-"Reade. Mattie Reade. I've been on the disco for ohhh about-" Alex cut her off but putting his hand up and giving an exhausted glare.
"Ms. Reade" Alex continued, "Can you actually tell me what the replicators are doing wrong?"
"Look for yourself" She said, and then asked the replicator to make some coffee. The replicator in question began showing its usual transporter signature before the blue tint of the cup suddenly fizzled out.
This is very strange Alex thought to himself. It seemed like the replicator just wasn't getting enough power, so it shut off in the middle of creating the dish. Pulling a tricorder out, Alex confirmed that the power to the replicator indeed seemed to be funky. He wondered if it affected anywhere else.
Tapping his comm badge, Alex quickly got to work to figure out the issue at hand.
=/\=Campbell to Bridge, are you reading any power fluctuations on Deck 6? We're having some issues with the replicators and I'd like to know if it's localized or if it's bigger than that=/\=
