[Deck 6 - Transporter Room 1 - USS Discovery]

Ralik materialized onto the familiar room, and nodded to security and the Gazerite Ensign.  When she asked about his meeting, Ralik actually laughed.

"Ensign.... what meeting?" he said, with a smirk.  He turned to the Captain's wife, and then back to Torra.

"Let the Captain know that I am sending someone ahead of me.  Don't tell him who it is.  Hopefully the Captain will stay in his ready room." he stated simply.

"Commander... I believe you know the way." he stated, turning to Hrafn.

Torra tilted her head slightly at the Sub-Commander's laugh.. then smiled wide nodding.  "Of course Sub-Commander."

She waited until Hrafn and her children were on their way to contact the Captain.  =/\= "Danjar-Addams to Captain Tekin.  Sir, the Sub-Commander will apparently be delayed, however he has sent someone or rather a couple of people to meet with you in your Ready Room.  They should be arriving momentarily." =/\=

Torra kinda regretted that neither her or Don would get to see his expression when his wife walked through the door.  That would have been priceless.

Ashley smiled lightly as she accepted the coffee. She listened closely and never once let the smile break off her face. "Don't worry, we're not in a session. I'm not trying to analyze you or anything." She replied warmly. "Though if you ever need that type of structure from our relationship I would be more than happy to provide it. Interestingly enough the job where being social and making connections with people is the whole thing, can be the loneliest by far. It's always nice to just have a friend that's outside of that structure." Weir's voice shifted to a slightly more sad tone for a brief moment as she caught herself rambling again. "But uh...like I said, don't hesitate to let me know if that structure is what you need."

The smile from moments earlier re-appeared on Ashley's face as she took a drink of the coffee. "A good choice by the way. I mean, I'm not particularly picky, but a good choice never the less." She paused a moment and let a wry grin creep across her face. "We should celebrate your birthday. If no one else was there to celebrate it; you and I should celebrate, even if it's a bit late." The counselor proposed happily.

[Counsellor's Office]

"Kalamaki..." Luby said cocking her head at the increased noise levels in Sickbay with more people arriving.  "It's a town on the coast of the Greek island of Crete." she answered.  "If you like teal blue seas, white sands and lots of sun... it's gorgeous!"

"Sorry I'm distracted, I'm supposed to be on duty and there's about 20 times the number of people in Sickbay that I normally see in there, shall we investigate?  I've got to go anyhow, but you can join me if not I'll come back soon as I've found out what the fun is!" she dived out into the noise.

It wasn't that people were being noisier than they should, but they were ... all talking at once.

She found several of the crew now... Romulan-ised, and also the back of Lt.Savar.

She raised an eyebrow then spoke to Lt. Cmdr T'Lara.

"Something I need to be aware of, Commander?  I see Kestra has it well in hand but I was helping Ms Weir to settle in so if there was an alert for a medic for an away trip it was either not myself who was chosen to represent my department, my commbadge isn't working or they figured if I was needed they'd tell me when they got here!  Also... are you aware of any ah..." she indicated that the XO should turn slightly and dropped her voice.

"VIP guests?  I've been assigned to them by Dr. Thane but I have no information at all!  He said he'd forward the medical files relevant once the guest was on board."

Ensign Danjar-Torra Addams
[USS Discovery - Transporter Room] (current time)

Torra had little choice but to 'bring in on the secret' the security personnel stationed at the Transporter room.  Torra could see them hesitate so referred them to Lt. Leon to confirm that there was at least a senior officer aware of the planned 'off the books' transport.   Even so, it took bringing in Lt. Felder as well, by Torra quickly briefing him via text before the crewmen were satisfied.  With all set and the two ships in communication, Torra beamed over the Romulan Sub-Commander and his VIP guests.

Torra greeted the group with a dip of her head.  "Welcome back to Discovery, Sub-Commander Ralik.  Thank you for all your assistance with this special surprise."

She then turned to the wife and children of her Captain.   "Hello again ma'am, I'm not sure you remember me from when Discovery was at Katra Station. I am Ensign Danjar-Torra Addams.  We've been communicating via my father.  It's good to see you in person!" she smiled and then not to forget the young ones, she crouched down a bit to greet them. "Hello children.  I'm so glad you are able to be here."

She smiled taking note of the children's outfit.  "Very appropriate."

Standing up again she then turned back to the Romulan Liaison.  "I'm aware that there are important things to discuss first.  Perhaps you could send me a signal when the discussion has concluded and I can send in his family to surprise him?"

The benefit of having Felder in on the secret was that now they could do a site to site beam in without triggering alarms.  Things were working perfectly.

The only downside was that while Torra had been waiting on the permission from Lt Felder earlier she'd received a message from her husband informing her that he had been selected for yet another away mission.   Definitely - he was being prepared to take on more responsibility.  She was so proud of him!

Unnamed NPC Uhlan Romulan guard
[Narrocian - en route towards Policyon system](days earlier)

The uhlan was surprised that the boy even knew about the D'deridex-class of Rihanssu ship, nevermind that it was the most comparable to the Galaxy-class Federation vessel.  The Romulan narrowed his gaze at the 6 year old assessing a bit but didn't answer.   No sense giving the young Fed more information.

He turned his attention to the mother who made apologies about her son's curiosity.  Her statement about the boys knowledge of Federation ship stats was interesting though he doubted the boy had knowledge that his superiors didn't.

The family was very odd - the children especially so.  Nothing at all like his own quiet and obedient children.

When the Trill - at least that's what he assumed she was with those spots - indicated she was going to rest, the uhlan nodded and returned to his watch post outside of the quarters.

Hrafn drifted off to sleep for a few hours, then took the children for a walk.  The rest of the journey was pretty uneventful other than when they were told that they were to be transported over to the Discovery when the children scrambled to put on their 'Junior Cadet' uniforms and sat almost bouncing to get there.

[USS Discover, Transporter Room - Present]

"Of course I remember you, Ensign.  Not meaning to be species-ist but a Grazerite is rather hard to forget, we don't get many in the Federation, even on DS9 you'd be somewhat unique and special, besides I recall you being a really pleasant person, further emphasised by your and your husband's plan to surprise my husband!  If our luggage can be transferred to wherever you've got us billeted, I'd be grateful!"

Turning to the Romulan she inclined her head.  "Sub-Commander Ralik, if I can return the favour any time, let me know and be sure to drill your Uhlan on the distinctions between Federation and Romulan craft, although I'm sure he was just testing Tidu."

"Yeah, said that a Bird of Prey was equivalent to the Enterprise-D!" he said holding it up.  "He's st..." a sharp nudge from his twin stopped him short.

"He's supposed to know it's a D'deridex-class surely?" he said giving a 'Really... he's supposed to be an adult and know more' smug look.

"I'm sure the Uhlan was just testing you Tids!" his mother said with a 'will you just shut up NOW!' look on her face.  "Say thank you to the Sub-Commander for bringing us to see Daddy."

"Rashant... sudan ropengneh nah..." Nerys muttered then smiled.  "I'm sorry I don't know much Romulan yet, I need to ask Uncle Rayek to teach me more!  Thank you for fetching us safely to Daddy.  Jolan tru, Sub-Commander Ralik!" (I wasn't expecting that!  Godspeed/Goodbye is the translation)

"Jolan tru!  I know that one!" Lamar said in excitement.

"Jolan tru, Sub-Commander.  Oh and I like your ship, if we travel back via it may I look at the engine room?" Tidu asked.

Once the children had said their thanks and added their goodbyes to the Sub-Commander she turned back to Torra.

"Now let me remember.  You go by Torra but if I were referring to you by rank you're Ensign Danjar-Addams, did I get that right?!  I know the way up to the Ready Room if you're busy.  I wish after your planning there was a way for you and... Don isn't it? To see the reaction of your plotting!  Or maybe there is... security feeds, not sure you'll get audio but you should be able to see his face?! C'mon kids, quietly."

She quickly got the kids corralled and led them up to the Bridge and nodding to the Officer of the Bridge and giving them a wink then putting her forefinger up to her lips made her way to the Ready Room.  She let Lamar (who was dancing from foot to foot with excitement) palm the chime and once Nevir answered, Nerys stepped half a step into the room and said

"Junior Cadets Tekin Tidu, Nerys and Lamar and Lieutenant Hrafn Falleg-Tekin reporting for cuddles and kisses and requesting permission formally to come aboard, SIR!"

Hrafn had to put a hand on Lamar's shoulder to stop him from lunging straight at his Daddy, but she could totally understand the impatience because she wanted to do the same.

[USS Discovery - Sickbay]

Don wanted to protest to have that inside him. This was a mission. He kept his mouth shut.

"œHello Crewman. Welcome aboard the USS Discovery. I am Lieutenant Addams," he told her. The man saw his reflection as he spoke to her. Damn. He was not liking this.

"œI must be one good looking Romulan," he said as he was trailing T'Lara. "œYou think the cover story is that one your are my wife. And the others are really good friends to her." He shared as they walked. "œOr you all kidnap me for my ship," he gave a small chuckle.

As they walked down the corridor there was some good long stares from the crew who was walking by. They were astonish there was Romulans not in uniform.

"œExcuse me," A security guard. "œSorry, but, I need to report yo""-"œ he stared at Nira. "œEnsign Nira? Is that you!" Then he looked at T'Lara. Then his eyes widen open. "œCommander...eh...is that really you? Or you from a mirror universe?"

Quote from: Nira Said on November 20, 2020, 12:41:53 AM

[Lieutenant JG Nira Said | Sickbay | Deck Nine | USS Discovery NCC-78393-B]

"Thank you, Lieutenant," said Nira as cordially as possible. Once Don was finished, Nira sat down in his place to have her work done and took note of the new crewman waiting her turn. She didn't have to be an empath to know the girl was shy. She didn't even have to hear it in the tone of her voice. Her body language told her entirely.

Once the cosmetics were finished, she took in the final result with satisfaction. She was undoubtedly looking like the most beautiful Romulan refugee this side of...where Romulus and Remus used to be. She had to admit, though, the eyebrows looked a little too long.

What was even more amusing was that a crewman from Security walked in and was about to arrest them when he recognized her. And she recognized him, too, she worked with him on the Athena.

"Yes, it's me, Mister Jefferson," she said. "It has been a while...you probably haven't noticed my promotion. And need I remind you about first name bases on duty, Mister?"

She didn't mean to pull rank, but she was still puzzled why people she knew often referred to her as "ensign." Then again, it was understandable, she wasn't showing her pips.

Once T'Lara gave her briefing, Nira took it in with rapt attention. When it was mentioned that the samples taken from the planet below contained dilitium, Nira raised both eyebrows with interest, high enough that she'd definitely pass as a Tal Shiar agent zeroing with a positive lead.

"That explains the mining sites the probe picked up," Nira said, "and why they practically put off terraforming. And the suspicious behavior of Travid and his sycophants. They've stumbled across and opportunity. I wouldn't be surprised with they've got smuggling arrangements somehow, with various criminal organizations or Romulan factions not joined to the Free State. Or both. I can easily imagine they've got a lucrative deal going: transport dilithium, and they can keep a small amount as payment. I'm just guessing, but I'm not surprised if that's the case. Hopefully the mining site will be proof enough that they are mining dilithium."

Nira nodded at having to be injected with chips to pass as Romulans even through sensors. "Brilliant," she said. Upon noticing Don was making gestures of discomfort at having to be injected, she added, "It's all right, Lieutenant. It'll just be a simple hypospray. We're probably not going to feel it."

Just then, she felt someone brace against her, like someone had tripped in a rush and braced against her to stop himself, for it definitely felt like a man. She looked up at him and...oh, she was taken with him, even if he was a Vulcan. And Vulcan men usually were, but this one seemed...different. He was...beautiful. As beautiful as she was.

[Lieutenant JG Savar | Sickbay | Deck Nine | USS Discovery NCC-78393-B]

Savar was in such a hurry to get to Sickbay, he collided with what seemed like a beautiful Romulan woman...but upon closer inspection, he realized this was neither a Vulcan nor a Romulan. Just someone who looked like either.

As he and Prisaar was working at deflector control, as cordial as possible, he suddenly began feeling sweaty. As he worked, he found himself continually thinking of females, their figure, and he realized something was wrong. He had studied the stages of pon farr so he would be better prepared, to know what to expect. He didn't expect that this would happen to him so soon. He was realizing, given how much he studied to prepare for it, he had just entered the fringes of the early stages of pon farr.

"Excuse me, Prisaar," he said, "I think I'm experiencing some kind of reaction. I need to get to Sickbay quickly."

With that, he made his way as fast as possible to Sickbay, going so fast, restless as he was...further indication that the stages were progressing...he didn't look where he was going.

"Oh, excuse me," he said when he bumped into her, and they gazed at each other...for the briefest of moments, it felt like an eternity to gaze at each others' beauty...and then he broke the gaze and sought a medic, and found one: Ensign Stoerm, also Vulcan.

"Excuse me, Ensign," he said, "do you have something? Early stages of Pon Farr, no mate, but I don't want it to inconvenience me in my duty right now."

"Don't we always, Lieutenant?" said Stoerm, in his usual Vulcan mannerisms. "I might recommend the therapy program..."

Nira looked at the Vulcan with interest. She felt a variety of emotions from him. And they weren't just the emotions that were incoming as part of pon farr. Nervousness and panic, especially prevalent. And what was especially interesting was that she had no problem reading him; usually it was tricky to sense thoughts, let alone emotions, from Vulcans. She took in his face and bore in mind to seek him out later. For now, she turned back to the briefing.

[Sickbay-->Deck 9 - USS Discovery]

T'Lara blinked once in response to Luby's questions. She had assumed the cadet had received her communication about the away team, but perhaps she was mistaken. As for the "VIPs," there had been mention of Sub-Commander Ralik's entrance and a few minor details about who he was bringing with him, however since she hadn't been tasked to take care of it and had instead been loosely instructed to head the away team, this bit of information was in the far end of her thoughts. She also started her speech in a softened tone.

"My apologies, Cadet, I am not aware of the specifics of the guests, only that they are being escorted by Sub-Commander Ralik. To my knowledge the situation is being handled, whatever it may be. However, I did communicate with you about your assignment to accompany the away team. I apologize once more if you somehow did not receive that correspondence." She paused for just a moment as she felt herself hoping that this would be her last apology, being as the team really needed to be on their way out soon.

"Not to discredit Dr. Thane's authority, but this order from me overrides the order from him, and I will be communicating to him about the reason for your absence. In the meantime, please ask the medical team to provide you with cosmetic alterations and attire and we will continue on to the next part of the plan."

Essentially she was asking the young woman to make haste, as the XO figured they probably needed to do this in a timely manner.

When Luby was finished being outfitted and Romulanized, they headed out into the corridor. Don began a good-natured discussion about their cover story but before she could reply to him a security guard appeared to block their way. She raised an eyebrow at the question, then realized that he was trying to tease her and Nira.

"It is indeed I, Petty Officer. If we were on a mirror universe you would also be in that same universe, and therefore neither of us would be questioning the other. However if you are suggesting that I am actually from a differing universe than the one you inhabit and did not have the sense or foresight to disguise myself, my answer is that it is technically not impossible," she said without so much as a quirk of her lips.

[Shuttle Bay - USS Discovery]

They took a short turbolift trip to the Shuttle Bay and made their way to the Martha. Once they'd all settled in, T'Lara looked over at Don.

"You may proceed, Lieutenant." She didn't know if Addams would wait for her or just assume he could start the process of preliminary system checks so she brought it up just in case. He had the authority now for this part of the away mission.

[USS Discovery - Shuttle Bay]

H'Fran and the kid gang was here. That was something he wanted to be around for. That was going to be something he will miss. Thought Torra would take over and she be there for the set up. He had hope the Captain would be surprise.

Then that was nothing until the surprise party they going to throw for the Captain. The fun part was keeping it a secret. Nira has no idea. That was his little fave part for fun.

And he had noticed Nira acted like she was hit by Cupid's arrow. Which was little surprising. Maybe that would distract enough when the ball starts rolling for the Captain's surprise party.

As the entered to the shuttle bay Ensign Sivak came to greet them. "œCommander the Martha is prepared," he stated. "œI had assisted Operations to make a history for the crew." He said looking at each individual as a Romulan. They all indeed looked great as Romulan. He had not mentioned Lek mumbling insults on the old ship.

"œHere is the data pad for your reviewing, sir," Sivak said handing the data pad to Don. He took it. Reviewed it. Then nodded his head. "œExcellent." Sivak was hoping he will gang lieutenant grade rank soon.

Don had spotted Lek. "œSee. She looks wonderful. Thank you Chief," he smiled. He was forgetting his appearance when he saw the ancient ship. He had history with her. "œWish you can come along," he told Lek. That was him being a wise guy.

Then Don had a boyish look as he over look the old craft. To him it felt like ages since he flew her.

As he was walking up the ramp to the Martha. "œAs I was saying. Simple cover story. One of you could be my mate and the other two are friends. The one who is my mate found my charm unbearable. And the friends had money. I had a ship. The two friends could had connections. You saw me as a easy target to be a business partner. Which I will tell you who they are. Keep it there. Simple. We don't want to get to fancy cause lying can be hard to keep track of. I been in that situation long time ago."

Then he gave a quick tour. "œThe back is the engines, this small area is storage which we can remove our living space for more room. Up ahead is the cockpit. There is no way to get lost on this ship," he told them.

Then he got to the cockpit. "œHey, old girl, its me," he told Martha. "œReady for a adventure!" There was a little flicker of lights flashing on and off on the whole ship. Look it was a drain, but to Don that was Martha was saying hi to her missed friend.

Turning to the Romulan she inclined her head.  "Sub-Commander Ralik, if I can return the favour any time, let me know and be sure to drill your Uhlan on the distinctions between Federation and Romulan craft, although I'm sure he was just testing Tidu."

Torra smiled softly and dipped her head in thanks at the woman's compliment of 'being pleasant'.    The mention of her luggage prompted a glance to the articles and again this time she nodded.  "Yes of course ma'am"

While she quickly organized a couple of crewmen to deal with the luggage the woman turned to speak the Sub-Commander about some of his crew and their lack of training.   When there was a pause in the conversation, she informed the Commander that she and her family had been assigned the VIP suit just down the hall from the Captain's quarters.   The room held a King-sized luxurious bed and all amenities imaginable.  With an attached bedroom - usually meant to host ambassadorial aide or entourage staff, the suite was twice the size of the Captain's quarters.  The entire family could spent time together their during their stay or once the Captain was made aware of their arrival alterations to his living quarters could be made - it was up to him.

"The actually party will have to wait until our current mission is resolved but I'm certain even with your arrival he won't suspect a surprise birthday party happening months past his birthday."

When Tekin's wife, Hrafn - Torra loved the spelling of the woman's name especially because wasn't quite standard Federation - suggested that she use the security feeds to be able to watch the Captain's reaction, Torra shook her head, a little alarmed at the notion.   "No, thank you for the suggestion.. but that is a special moment for you and your family.  And I would never think of invading the Captain's privacy so.  Perhaps later though you can describe it to me."

She waved them off as they headed before making her call to the Captain.

Afterwards she looked to the Sub-Commander uncertain if he wished to return to his ship or wait for the Captain.   "They may be a while, and as I said the party itself has been delayed a bit.. would you like to wait up on the Bridge or shall I return you to your ship and contact you once plans are going forward again?"

[Captain's ready room - Deck 1 - USS Discovery]

Nevir paid no heed when the chime for his door went in, and gave a rather dismissal "Come" as access to the door opened.  He was a bit concerned that Ralik wasn't coming himself, and prepped himself to deal with another Romulan.  However, where he was expecting a Romulan officer, he was not expecting a young child.  Any young child let alone his own children.

The Captain stared at the young ones, and their mother behind them, in shock.  They were about a half galaxy at least away from each other... and yet here they were.  On his bridge.  His face turned to a smile, and he practically jumped up and out of his chair as he moved around the desk and took Lamar into his arms.

"Well, well, well... with that polite request, of course the Captain grants it. Welcome aboard, my son." he said, picking him up and holding him.  With small tears forming in his eyes as he said hello to his other children, he looked up at his beautiful wife.

"What in the Prophets' name are you doing here?  How did you find us- you were on Ralik's ship!  I thought he looked.... amused... on his call."

[Shuttlebay - USS Discovery]

When his name was called Lek, jerk upward and hit his head on the inside of the access panel he was hanging out of, he swore and pulled out of the ship's innards rubbing his head and snarled.

"WHAT?"

Before realizing who had spoken. Still muttering, he slammed the access panel shut and threw the hydrospanner he'd been using into his tool kit.

"I don't get your attraction to this junkyard reject, but it's about as good as it's going to get. Truth be told, I do not believe this... 'ship' is spaceworthy, but that's your problem now Addams. Just try not to exceed any of the parameters I've added to the ship's computer. If you do, something is going to break, probably a lot of somethings will break. When that happens, you better hope you can get to the escape pod quick because this thing will come apart at the seams faster than a Klingon can down a tankard of bloodwine."

[Sickbay - Earlier]

"Not to worry Ma'am I'll find out in due course.  Oh I owe you an apology, it's here on my PADD, I'm sure my commbadge is working I just didn't hear it.  Obviously I'll get done as quickly as I possibly can and join you in the Shuttlebay!" Luby said at the same time as her hands sent a quick message to Ashley along the lines of 'on away mission, see you when I get back!'

She allowed Roger to do the honours and soon a rather strange Romulan stared back at her.  She grabbed a medkit and set off at a run to the shuttle.

[Shuttlebay - USS Discovery]

Hurling herself onto the Martha she smiled.  "Well my Romulan self is here!  Sorry if I've held you up at all, you can all get not killed and I'm here to patch you up!" she joked.

Ensign Danjar-Torra Addams
[USS Discovery - Transporter Room] (current time)

[Transporter Room - USS Discovery, a little earlier]

"Aww thanks Torra, and I will recommend that you and your husband have dinner with myself and Captain Tekin some evening while I'm here.  Don't be alarmed, just two married couples... and our kids whom you've met, all very casual!  Or if that frightens you too much then we'll arrange a coffee and doughnuts date in the lounge!  I'm sure the children would love to see you again!" Hrafn offered and smiled warmly at the Grazerite.

"As for the reaction... I'll do my best to replicate it for when we meet next!!"

The kids all threw themselves at Torra to give her a hug in turn and then ran into the corridor hurrying their mother towards the Ready Room shouting "See you soon Auntie Torra!", "Thank you Auntie Torra!", "Me too!", "Come on Mammy, I know you had your knee done but you're supposed to be able to run now!"

Hrafn grinned sheepishly at Torra then indeed did run after them, saying over her shoulder.  " You've been assimilated by them, you're 'Auntie' now.  Welcome to the family!  To be fair, I'm almost as impatient as them, just as a CSO... I'm supposed to set an example!"

[Captain's Ready Room - USS Discovery]

The Captain's wife stood there with a crooked grin on her face just inside the door.  "Um... surprise?!" she offered trying not to hurl herself into his arms.

"Smug actually would be the word I'd use! I've learned that some Romulans are actually pretty decent like that!" Hrafn laughed  "...as to what in the Prophet's, how we found you and all that..."  she sniffed back tears of her own as she hugged Nevir around Lamar, the twins holding one side each of her husband themselves in a family hug.

She refrained from spoiling the birthday party surprise, and instead decided to use the 'recuperation' excuse which was another valid reason.

"Well other than I don't need a reason for wanting to see my beloved husband, and his ridges!" she winked.  "... basically remember the time back on the Chin'Toka when I mended the console... with my knee... in the middle of that battle.  Well.. my left knee's never quite been the same.  Just over 2 weeks ago I had it replaced... I have a new bionic knee and since I was going to be on light duties while I did physiotherapy, I asked Captain Solluk if I could take it as vacation time to come and see you... he practically put me on the shuttle and said 'Go see your husband, you deserve it but come back soon cuz we'll miss you!' So... here I am.  There required a little bit of subterfuge between Torra Danjar-Addams and her Head of Department so that we could arrange how to get from DS9 to here, then the Chief of Ops or Security... someone like that, in turn worked the ruse with Ralik... but... yeah I'm here!"

"We is here too, Daddy!!" said Lamar snuggling into his Dad's shoulder happily.

"Did Mammy send you our report on the Crystaline Entity and Tholians?? Auntie Zex is going to send it to the Academy too!" Nerys said with a grin.

"I'll explain later..." Hrafn said rolling her eyes.  "This pair are going to follow Ruthie in going to Academy early I think!"

"And the Sub-Commander's Uhlan is stupid.  A bird of prey isn't the Romulan equivalent to the Enterprise-D...." said Tidu

"Tids, let it drop, he was testing you, I'm sure! Dog...bone..." his mother teased.

"So... Torra's organised quarters for us, but what do you want to do first.  I need to check in with a... Dr. Thane? at some point so that the Sickbay can check all is still well with the new knee and set up some physio for while I'm here, but if you're busy then we can go and rest in quarters until you're free... if the limpets known as Tidu, Nerys and Lamar let you go. Oh and please... make use of me while I'm here, if you can use another Scientist that is, or I'll be supremely bored!"

"Yes, the spots DO go all the way down.  No, you don't get to see!"

Ever since she had heard about the Martha, she had dropped by the shuttle bay, at least off-duty, to get a look at it. She thought Lek had a point, it was small. But just because it was old doesn't necessarily mean it's junk. Plenty of old ships were still in use in Starfleet, or in the Federation in general for other purposes. The most common were Mirandas, Oberths and Excelsiors. In terms of the age range of the Martha, the oldest ships she knew about were Striders, and those included the upgrades with the blue nacelles since the 2270s.

Of course, she could see the Martha was still a sore point with Lek. Nira couldn't blame him, but at the same time, she intended to keep her opinions to herself.

When Don made his idea, Nira commented, "It might be a good idea if Commander T'Lara pretends to be your 'mate,' Lieutenant. The rest of us can be the friends. After all, as the ranking officers, the two of you are in charge."

Then he turned toward to the team and headed back to Martha. Then he mumbled softly, 'Stupid little man.' There was a soft spot on the Martha. Lek had hit a nerve real hard.

Come to think about it, he thought there'd at least be a chance for conversation during his shift....where was Gohun? Hm, that was a bummer. He'd have to talk to the walls until his crewmate got here. After a few more minutes passed and still no Gohun, Bradley tapped his commbadge.

=/\= Strider to Gohun. Where are you, man? I don't mean to call you out for being late but patrol duty is a bit less boring when you have someone to talk to. Get over here so I don't have to resort to talking to myself. Strider out. =/\=

Message sent, all Bradley could do was pace the hallway. He actually did get bored enough to voice some of his thoughts out loud, then blushed slightly as someone came out of the science labs and gave him a weird look. Gohun had better get here soon to save him from his own quirkiness...

Hearing the chime of his com badge Gohun responds. Looking at the schedule Gohun was not on the roster but had nothing better to do being on a ship in the middle of nowhere. With that Gohun rushed over to keep his companion that was going crazy company.
Five minutes later Gohun arrives. "anything interesting going on?"

When the woman remarked that she would describe the Captain's reaction, Torra nodded appreciatively.

Torra was surprised by the sudden hugs to her waist and the 'Auntie Torra' nickname from the kids.   Oh.  How precious!  Before she could even think of embracing them back they were off and racing down the corridor.

Torra smiled at the words of the running woman.  Being part of the children's upsol as an 'Auntie' sounded pleasant.
