He could tell that something what wrong with Kali, but it wasn't until she collapsed that it really came apparent.  Before he could really respond, his Bridge crew jumped into action, with a medical officer right there, and Jettis calling for sickbay.  Nevir stood over her, a look of concern on his face.

"We'll get you taken care of, Kali.  Get her to Sickbay.  Fire the probe.  And remember all to take care of yourselves." he said, sighing and taking a seat.  Hopefully that would keep medical busy for a bit, and unfortunately, they still had a mission to do.  Kyan, however, seemed to be a bit more agitated than he would like.

"Belay that order.  Mr. Mackenzie, are you not familiar with fatigue?  Or are you suggesting that the transporters are malfunctioning and didn't screen out foreign matter?  I'd suggest letting the medical experts decide if this ship has a virus on it." he said, shaking his head.  Did he also forget that the First Officer was back on the bridge and in command?

"Helm, continue on course.  Let's not make Reyes into a show, let the medical experts handle it.  Keep on the scans for the science team." he said, trying to keep the ship on track as they moved.

Eventually, a sensor spike appeared on the next round of scans, another metallic signature.  But this one was small, like an asteroid, or maybe a ship.

Klabax was still in his quarters when the broad-hail to medical hit the ship. He sighed, and stood up. =/\= Klabax acknowledges, on my way.=/\= he said, as he turned to escort the El-Aurian out of his quarters. "Duty calls." he said, and grabbed his field medical kit and left the room, locking it behind him by his voiceprint. There was no want for him to let his animals running around the ship.

[Bridge]

Klabax entered the bridge and walked over to the apparent commotion, the sight of Chief Reyes sick on the floor.

He heard the XO want her taken to sickbay. Kali would refuse. Fortunately for Klabax, he was now under an order and she was easily told she's not in the right mental state.

"Chief Reyes. Can you hear me?" He asked. Zex's tricorder scans would indicate a virus, sure, but more detailed scans would be needed. Klabax doubted that there was any serious medical issue besides the Chief working herself too hard, but that was a call to make later. "What happened here, besides the Chief collapsing?" he asked, as he didn't even bother breaking out his medical kit. He had all he needed in sickbay.

He heard the XO berate the little pain, and smirked a bit internally. "At this time, Commander, I have no reason to think there is any threat to the crew. I believe the Lieutenant is being quite unnecessary in his precautions." he said, a thinly veiled way of saying 'Keep your place' to the little man.

As things were swiftly cleared up, and the commotion died down, Jettis sat back down in his seat, once he was sure he couldn't be of more use. His attention was briefly caught by Kyan calling for the air being purified, out of fear of germs. But that, too was quickly sorted out by both the XO and the Doctor who had just arrived on the bridge.

Turning back to his scans as they began moving once again, promising that something else interesting would show up on the scanners.
It took a little bit, but something else flickered onto his screen. Focusing in on that, he noticed another assortment of metals, though different from the last scan.

"Commander, I'm getting another reading of a mostly metallic mass. This one is much smaller in comparison, and much more concentrated." He reported neutrally, eyes scanning down the list of composition. It, once again seemed to stand out a bit in comparison to the rest of the nebula, but hey, this was space. Almost anything was possible.
He kept an eye out for the results of the probe, so he could compare the results, but for now he could only wait for the scans to finish. It was taking a long time to sift through the massive amount of metals littering their current area. Hopefully once they moved to the next section, there weren't as many to sort through while doing the routine scans.

Kali Reyes

[Bridge]

The surface she was under was way too uncomfortable to be a cot or a bed, but if anything, being conked was the closest thing she's had to an actual sleep in weeks. But consciousness came and went and she was a light sleeper anyways - even unwittingly - because there were loud noises and she couldn't concentrate into a sweet oblivion.

She forced herself to crack her eyes open and regretted it instantly. Pain blossomed near her temple when she practically cracked the sucker open on the way down and everything was still in a heady shade of yellow and the overhead lights were too bright and there were doctors surrounding her and everything was at eight thousand degrees and why the hell didn't Bradley turn up the chill-

And doctors.

Kali bolted up and it made the room dance. "I'm o-kgay..." she said, albeit sluggishly.

The science-oriented First officer pondered for a moment.  "Highly concentrated asteroid?  Helm, alter course.  Let's just this out.  Jyur, keep on it-" he said, when Kali finally lifted her head... and did the Kali thing of swearing she was fine.

As the XO formally relived Kali of her duties, Klabax shook his head. "No deal this time Chief. You're coming down to medical with me. Please, follow." he said, and began working his way to the lift. "It's blatantly obvious that you are not feeling well. I have no reason to believe that you are fine." he said, as he entered the lift. He spoke again, his voice seemingly a bit hurt or insulted now.  A strange sound for him. "You promised me if you felt ill at all you'd pop down to sickbay." he said, shaking his head.

Eventually, a sensor spike appeared on the next round of scans, another metallic signature.  But this one was small, like an asteroid, or maybe a ship.

"Aye sir course is laid in." Zuriel said as the sudden bedlam of the bridge began to fall away. NO one wants to watch a crew mate in pain, or one that is hurt. But no matter what happens on a ship, there is no time to mourn the fallen. Thankfully this time it was simply Reyes' hitting the floor with a crack, she was clearly sick, and very tired from the beginning of the time she had started her shift. Kali like any crewmen of her reputation did not let exhaustion slow her down, and she worked quite literally until she dropped. Kali falling was frightening to some, but to Zuriel it came with a great deal of respect, people like that ended up with ships of their own in most cases, Zuriel could not help but feel a little bit safer with Kali on board.

"I have sight of what Jettis is talking about sir, at our present course it should be in visual range." Zuriel said as he focused the flow of data coming into his station, this was really shaping up to be a very interesting day, the most interesting nebula in the galaxy. More information on the object seem to pour in as they got closer. "It's too streamlined to be an asteroid, and I am picking up a weak subspace signal coming from it. I don't know what it is, the signal strength can be compensated for, but whatever it is looping is so old the message itself has degraded beyond normal recovery parameters Sir."

Riley T. Munro

The bridge was clearly busy doing things, mostly didn't concern her unless someone broke something or ran out of power, and knowing Zuriel was up there reconfirmed that she would indeed be hearing her name called over the comms soon enough. The man was genius but not the most graceful with a ship. He was known to make some more than questionable maneuvers at the helm. His most famous threw her across the floor of her own bridge once. She was glad to be down here laying on the floor, she couldn't fall unless Soreka decided to barrel roll, wouldn't vaguely surprise her though.

She had a private communication coming through from her brother, but she was busy, tools in hand, he could wait. What her brother called "urgent" usually was mere simplicity.

Oh, no, no, no.

She had to be pulled up to her feet, but she didn't make it easy. The excuses started to pile up on her tongue. Like she was clumsy or she had a bit too much Andorian ale before shift, but the universe kept moving in a pace her fever couldn't keep up with and instead she grunted meekly in protest.

Kali wasn't sick. It was just exhaustion. She's never been sick before.

D'vid had no problem leaving the Doctor's quarters. There some emergency that the doctor had needed to care. "See you later. And I see nothing. And know nothing," D'Vid said after the man.

[corridor]
D'Vid found himself lost. He had no plan on what to do now. He was off duty. He would like to know what the emergency was about. He knew that the news would be around the ship in five minutes. In fifteen minutes the WHOLE ship will know. Give it twenty minutes the story will be off and then it be all wrong with new news to it. It does not take much. One small word can change a story. He had been around to take mental notes. He knew habits by listening. He will search out the fact or just get a kick out of people's reaction of the different versions of stories.

Great. He was not sure what to do.

Now that Kali was being taken care of, his focus was back on the mission.  As soon as Zuriel stated they were getting within visual, he waited for only a moment before nodding towards Ops.

"On screen."

It wasn't overly large, in fact if anything, it was just smaller than the Discovery herself.  But it was unusual.  The database couldn't identify it at all, there was no known configuration from any species discovered in the known galaxy.  Not even from the foreign Delta quadrant.  There were signs of damage, recently repaired, but the power systems were at minimum.  It was clear that no one was home.

"Full scan." he ordered, as he hit the comm.

=/\="Captain to the Bridge"=/\=

He stared at the vessel in front of him.  THIS was certainly worth a look.  "It looks old... and its seen battle."

[Bridge->Sickbay]

Klabax, predictably, ignored her excuses. Kali had ignored what he had told her, and he wasn't going to make this easy on her. They'd start with a full physical, all the bells and whistles, and any tests that Kali had due. Or close to due. From there, they'd move on to a series of scans and a battery of exercises to test her physical and cognitive function. It was due in three months anyways, so it might as well be done now. Add on any vaccines she needed, and all in all the absolute worst a iatrophobic could be forced to endure.

[Sickbay]

If she had just come down, none of this would be happening.

He entered the sickbay, and jerked a thumb to bio-bed one. "Sit." he said. Ranks were irrelevant here. He was a doctor, she was the patient. "So tell me, Ms Reyes, when did this start?" he said.
