[Bridge - Hargraves]

The truth of the matter that was that after they materialized on the bridge, even with the arm lights there wasn't much that the Bajoran could do.  While both Jane and Kali worked on getting power restored to the bridge, he had a tricorder out, letting the two work while he searched the bridge.

It was clear that this ship was in desperate times within their operations... so much so that he was not surprised when the console sparked in front of Reyes.  He turned and moved as quickly as he could.

"Kali, you alright?"  he asked, checking to see that she was fine.  She looked okay, if a bit singed.

The bridge's light levels began to increase, exposing the quiet still of the bridge.  With the ability to see again, he turned off his flashlight, and looked around to find the the closest thing he could to a Captain's console.

"Kali, when you can, can you get a systems check?  I'm going to see if there is some sort of ready room for the Captain."

SS Hargreaves - Bridge

Jane watched as power began to be restored. She could see sparks coming from the console where Reyes was working. She saw her pull out two tricorders with gloves that were melting. She went over to the Ops Chief.

"Are you alright Reyes?" She asked, wondering if she should call one of the medical team.

Kyan had been about to instect the auxilliary power circuits running beneath the deck plating at the rear of the ancient bridge when the power came back on, and promptly burned the Discovery's Ops Chief. As D'Angelo and Kali conversed over the Chief's wounds, Kyan dug through his pack. Finding what he was looking for, the little Miran made his way over.

"Hey. I can fix that for you. I nicked this Dermal Regenerator form sickbay... as to not have to go in there. Lemme see yer hand."

[USS Hargreaves - Bridge]

Kali impatiently flapped her hand over her shoulder at her team's queries. "I'm fine. Just didn't expect hot plasma to come pouring out." What mattered was she salvaged the tricorders and the data chips inside.

"On it, boss." She already started running a diagnostic on the console, though she wasn't sure he'd have much luck with a ready room. This ship was pretty much built to economize storage space, but it was better than having her superior critically watch every move she made.

"Heeeey," Kali trilled at him with approval. Clever kid - even when he wasn't a kid. That was going to take some getting used to. She gave him her palms while the console clicked and clanged trying to compile a diagnostic. "Lay it on me, soldier."

Jane grinned at Tekin's remark, then she looked at the map of the ship on her wrist mounted display.

"The Captain's cabin should be just aft of here. That's about s close to a ready room as you'll find on this ship Commander." She called after him.

[Transporter Room]
"Even if it's really tempting?" he asked the Captain, as he disappeared in a beam of light. For some reason the crew apparently thought that he was a really funny guy... or at least to tease a bit. He was also one of the people on the ship with the longest record of combat.

[Sickbay, Hargreaves]

Klabax appeared, flanked by his security who, predictably, got in his way immediately. They insisted that they run some scans on their tricorders, scanning for sabotage or mines or.... any of the thousand other excuses they gave. He pushed past them. "If there was a mine here and it took this long to detonate, then it's not even a threat." he said, grumbling and glaring at them if they took so much as a step from where they were. He began looking around the sickbay, wondering what he would find.

[Main Engineering - USS Hargraves]

Kyle's eyes blinked hard as he started to adjust to the new lighting. He once again found himself amazed as he stood in such a marvel as this room was. He looked over at Kaz and could tell she was somewhat excited as well. Probably not as much as she had been on one before but this was all new to Briggs.

"Is it as you remember?" he asked his Chief Engineer. Nostalgia was not always a good thing for some and he didn't know what kind of memories this would bring back to her.

With a warm smile she looked to her captain. "It does, although the smell is a bit off." With a slight chuckle she flashed a grimace in his direction. The smile faded as she found herself drifting to a darker time in the symbionts past. "It really is incredible to be on this ship." She took a long pause and ran her fingers along the console and squatted on the floor. She gently rubbed the carpet covering the deck plating. "I died under a console in an engine room that looked a lot like this... Well not me, obviously, Nantia. She was 25 and on her first mission. Fresh graduate. She hated human food. Loved Bolian soup. And was late for her first and only duty shift... See it's not my fault when I'm late; it's a tradition." She forced a chuckle as a lump grew in her throat and she succumbed to the painful memories. "Tragic, senseless, brutal death. Death is never a good thing. But for someone so young and so full of life and potential. It really is tremendously sad." Leela spoke softly.

The lights had come on, the sudden shift between dark and light had the Scotsman closing his eyes for the briefest of seconds to prevent himself from going blind. Certainly now that he could see around, Lennox had become overwhelmed and excited for the journey ahead.

[Sickbay]

Klabax looked around. The sickbay was in major disrepair, undoubtedly a struggle of sorts had gone on here... either that or something major had happened while the ship was abandoned, an ion storm knocking everything loose? Who knows.

=/\= Captain, Klabax here. Sickbay is a disaster, but no findings of to what happened. Request instructions on how to proceed=/\= he said. He then turned to the two terrified security escorts. "You.. you... clean this place up. You've seen sickbay before, I assume?" he asked rhetorically, leaving them to work as he went to the CMO's office and began trying to access the medical records.

Kyle watched and could fell the sadness of his CEO. "I'm sorry I dredged that up, Lella." he offered. "You shouldn't have had to relive it." He was brought back to the moment by another voice.

"What d'ye need me te do, captain?"

"Oh. This is Lieutenant Kaz's show." Kyle said as he turned back to Kaz. "Lieutenant? Where do we begin? Hammer?" he teased trying to lighten the mood.

Of course, the mood didn't lightened up quick enough before Brigg's comm chimed and he heard Cottle's voice next.

Nevir nodded.  Kyle had a really good taste in crew choice.  "Thank you.  I'll check in there if you need me... and if you hear me shout, I probably need help." he said, moving through the rather cramped bridge and into the Captain's cabin.

[Captain's Cabin - USS Hargraves]

The lights inside the cabin were dimmed as the Bajoran walked in, enough that he had to adjust his eyes.  The ship wasn't as advanced as he was used to, but at least the panels were still similar.  Finding a chair, he activated the desk and the light levels increased.

"Alright... let's see what we got." he said, accessing the Captain's logs.

"Space zombies," Kali muttered under her breath. Once her fingers were squared away by Mackenzie's dermal generator, she got to work accessing everything from crew files, to ship logs, to replicator meal plans.

There wasn't much information seeing as it wasn't a comfortable spacefaring vessel with a large crew count, but her brow scrunched up in suspicion by how much a lot of the files were either corrupted or filled with junk data. Her gaze shifted from the console and onto the old tricorders after she popped a cleaning drive into the helm.

Sabotage or simple deterioration? Kali wasn't actually sure this time. Every file that popped out fine were non-essentials like shifts and rotations, which weren't much to start with. The other files were going to take at least a day to compile so she popped in a data crystal for copies instead.

"So far all junk. Nothing that explains what happened here," Kali finally said once the crystal beeped in completion. She tilted her head up at the remaining team over her shoulder. "There is a weight differential in the cargo bay. That's all I've got so far."

"Is there a crew compliment or cargo manifest in that pile of junk?" She asked.

[Sickbay]

Klabax muttered as he looked over the medical files. Whoever did this didn't follow any registered procedure for cataloging their files... and it made his job harder. He worked through the files, not bothering to acknowledge the Captain.

He began working on the files again, clearing everything out. There was nothing to indicate that any crew member had had any suspicious injuries, no death... nothing but oddly perfect health. That was odd, not even a stubbed toe. It was odd for sure, like someone had purged the records. Or maybe this was the most clean crew in the galaxy. Who knew.

[Bridge Team]

"Well... that's the problem," Kali shrugged helplessly. "Names, manifestos, even flight patterns - the entire code's degraded by a couple of hex symbols. Sickbay might have better luck with the medical files - they usually do. The rest? Hoo boy. I'll have to grab the 2344 ops codes to cross-ref and restore the files back on the Discovery. Believe me, it's not as streamlined a process as today."

She started to thoughtfully tap at one of the tricorders. Those too would have to come with her for evidence and scan. "Now 50 year old storage code locks? Kindergarten stuff. I can have the cargo bay unsealed in two minutes with the Cap's permission." But seriously. Space zombies. She wasn't as keen to open it, thanks.
