[Sickbay]

Akemat stepped into the department and surveyed it with a warrior's old cunning eye. He had seen the inside of many of these places over his career. Starfleet ran their medical facilities like a resort, in his mind. On Andorian vessels they were strictly utilitarian. He couldn't say which he preferred. Starfleet sickbays were certainly the best choice for humans, but his people sometimes preferred a more cut and dry method.

Hopefully we won't be doing any cutting today.

Sickbay

Lizzie looked up at the sound of the unfamiliar voice and saw the Andorian Security officer. Seeing that the others were deep in discussion she got up and went over to him.

"That would be me Ensign. Dr Vaughan, pleased to meet you." She nodded in greeting. "If you'll take a seat, we'll get going." She indicated bed 2 and went over to pick up a tricorder.

[Mess Hall]

James stared directly at the eyes of his adversary.  He swallowed his saliva and kept his focused on the goal at hand, the destruction of his enemy.  From the corner of his eye James could see small crowd gathering seeing James and his Adversary forces clashing against one another.  Normally, the Mess Hall was full of conversation, laughter and jokes.  Not this time, there was silence.  James figured that it was silent enough that you could hear a pin drop.

Directly opposite to James laid the battlefield, a Game of Three Dimensional Chess.    Directly, across James was a Vulcan, wearing a Science Uniform.  James still did not know the name of half of the crew.  He just recently transferred to the U.S.S. Arizona.  It was his first time serving on Akira type vessel.  He knew the Arizona had a history; however he was not fully aware of it of the ship.  He was glad to see so many faces from the past and some of them that James figured he would never see again.

"Take my Queen...Take my QueenI need to act a little bitYES!CheckI am late for my shift!Good Game, but I need to report to my shift

...
Subject:Medicals for the crew.
...
Engineering:- LtJG James Hawke, Ensign Leela Kaz, PO Tallarn, PO Webb, Crewman D'Cornis

James looked at the Message and rolled his eyes.  He had done a good job trying to stay clear of any Medical Test, the last thing he needed is to have abnormal results and investigating him further.  He contaminated the timeline once to save his wife.  At the cost of chaining the timeline all the events were different.

He noticed that they were a few names on the list.  Hopefully, if all of them goes in front of him the Medical Staff would have not noticed.  At least it would buy him more time until he comes out with another plan to avoid it

He left his station in Engineering.  And headed to outside the office area to main Engineering

[Main Engineering]

The Trill sat at the main command console in the center of the engine room. She was excited about her new posting. This was her third posting now and she was looking forward to learning the quirks of a new vessel. She had heard that her commanding officer was also a Trill. She was quite ecstatic for the opportunity to share those experiences with another Trill. Presently, she was attempting to track down an erroneous power drain. It wasn't enough to cause any serious problems, but it was a point of pride for any engineer.

"Damn it!" She cursed under her breathe. She had been able to isolate the signal to one of the tactical sub-systems but hadn't had any luck isolating it beyond that point. That meant she would have to go through them one at a time. Perhaps she would be better equipped if she was more familiar with this vessels systems but that would take time.

James walked into the room and looked at the engine.  He noticed an Ensign in the main control panel and she seemed upset.  Hawke did not have any idea why she was upset, but every Engineer in Starfleet has gotten upset at their ship at some point.  Power Fluctuations, Power Transfer, Misalignments...the more complicated the ship the more potential problems.

James walked calmly to the Ensign and said "You know the secret remedy is to bash the controller three times.  That usually works for meSorry to bother you Ensign, my name is James it looks like we will be working together.  I assume you are Ensign Leela Kaz, read your bio it appears that you are very talented EngineerI noticed that there is a request for you to do a Physical Examination, if you want you can report to Sickbay.  I am pretty sure I can finish stuff here

Akemat lithely hopped onto the biobed. He studied the seemingly human female doctor before him and wondered how competent she was in Andorian medicine. His people being one of the founding members of the Federation would mean she certainly had studied it, but how often she got to put it into practice was another matter.

"Ensign th'Zul, of Andoria." His antennae dipped to each side in suspicion. "How much do you know of Andorian physiology, doctor?"

"Working with a live virus, can be problematic especially when considering the life support systems of this particular vessel, I should know we dealt with two aggressive pathogens on this ship while I was in the science department, all it took was one reckless officer, and everyone tried to eat each other, mind the line lieutenant there are children on this ship, including my own." Sahiba said with a shrug and a smile.

"Containing biological pathogens is one of my specialties, I did extensive work on the Forrester-Trent Syndrome outbreak on deep space seven, the  Romulans tried a very clever biogenics trick in attempt to destabilize the neutral zone, we caught it in time and treated it with an aggressive neuro-stabilization regimen, quarantined those with the genetic markers that indicated susceptibility. Interesting work, if you ever have time I would love to talk with you in depth about it, you could even meet my daughter, I am sure you would find her very interesting. Sahiba sat back down and began to pull all the files of those who would be coming in, and separating them by department.

[Sickbay]

Although Zero appeared to be listening politely to Sahiba, but she was actually tuning the other officer out.  She wasn't the best of listeners, despite the fact that Leela was trying to work with her on that front.  The mention of a daughter made her wince slightly as she was reminded of her own daughter, from whom she was separated.

Now more actively seeking a way to get out of the conversation, the pale young woman looked over toward where an andorian in a yellow collar had just come in for a physical and apparently doubted the CMO's knowledge of Andorian physiology.

Excusing herself from Sahiba, she made her way over to the CMO and the Andorian, nodding curtly to the pair before saying:  "I am familiar with Andorian physiology, if that would be of assistance."

Lizzie smiled at the Andorian, but her sharp eyes didn't miss the way his antennae dipped. A clear sign of suspicion and mistrust.

"Don't worry Ensign. After medical school I spent some time on Andoria with the Inter Species Medical Exchange and I am very familiar with Andorian physiology." She opened the tricorder and began the scan, she soon noticed something unusual. "Hmm, interesting." I'm picking up a slightly faster metabolism than is is normal, and for an Andorian that is saying something. Also your Hypothalamus is showing some signs of unusual stimulation, nothing to worry about. I see from your records that you served in the Imperial Guard and you certainly have the evidence of it. It must have been unusual to leave the Guard at the top and start at Starfleet at the bottom?" She talked as she ran the scan, carefully as Andorian physiology was very different from Humans.

Lizzie turned to the other Doctor, frowning slightly at the interruption.

"There is no need Doctor, I am more than familiar enough with Andorian physiology to carry out the physical." She replied with a smile.

"Ok... aaah" Ser said. After losing his train of thought for a second.  This was not going exactly as he planned.   He refocused he a thought before he continued.

"Ensign, I didn't ask for your whole history.  I was trying make a point." He said then pointed of finger towards the shuttle door.

"The lieutenant outside is a superior officer to you.  When you join Starfleet, you agreed to follow a code of conduct.  Namely to follow a chain of command.  Like or not, he is apart of that chain. And what you did was clear insubordination.  If you plan to last long on this ship, you best learn to control your temper.  Or you may find, there won't be a place for you on this ship, or any ship for that matter." Ser said.

[Shuttle]

Ashley shook her head. "These drills could start at any minute. All he's going to do is get in our way. How is that right?" The young woman asked in a slightly calmer tone than before.

Lizzie nodded.

"I treated several Guardsmen during my time on Andoria and they all said the same thing." Lizzie replied as she finished the scan. "Well nothing out of the ordinary. Thank you for coming, you're free to go." She finished as she uploaded the scan data.

"I understand you want to do will on the drill, but focusing on one officer is not going to help.  In the future, if you have a problem with higher ranking officer bring it to a me or Commander Ferris.  And when the Drill starts I will 'politely' ask the Lieutenant to leave.  Until then its a big bay, just stay away from him.  Is that understood?"  Ser finished

[Main Engineering]

Leela chuckled at the notion. "I tried to jettison the entire tactical system into space but Lieutenant Pardek thwarted an otherwise perfect plan." He laugh continued right through the words as she turned her attention to something more constructive. "Yep you're correct. Ensign Leela Kaz. I'm still trying to get used to these systems. The Phoenix was a Nebula Class vessel. Quite a different design. But I still remember pre warp engines so....." A crooked smile crept onto her face.

[Bridge]

Will stepped off the turbolift and looked around the Bridge. He took a deep breath and felt home again. It was like being surrounded by family.

He gave Ruth a smile and made his way to Kyle. "It's good to see you again Ky— Captain." Will said carefully correcting himself "I see the gangs back together!" He said with his normal excitement as he recognized a few faces of his shipmates. Perhaps now he could finally settle on to a ship and make it his long term home.

Kyle reached out and shook Will's hand. "Welcome aboard, Mister Waring." he began. "It's good to see you again as well." He looked around the Bridge. It did seem like "the old gang" was back together. He and Will had started fresh out of the Academy on a ship with Ferris. Wu joined them later on. It felt like old times. He threw a glance over Will's shoulder at Ruth. "And it looks like a few reunions are happening, huh?"

[Shuttle]

Ashley shook her head as she reached over to open the shuttle. Once the doors were open she left the shuttle without saying another word. She went over to another shuttle away from both men and started working silently.

Ser watch as Ashley walked out of the shuttle doors.  Despite what she did Ser like her.  She had a strong will, that was good for a pilot.  But if she didn't learn to control herself, she could be put herself and others in danger.

The computer inform him that the diagnostic he been running had finished.  He checked the reads and found a slight discrepancy in the manual controls.  a .045 sec delay from console to impulse engines.  It wasn't much, but to Ser it made the shuttle sluggish.

"We can't have that, Computer." Ser said then hearing the all to familiar chime.

"Can you lower the response time of the manual controls to .015?" Ser asked.

=/\="Affirmative."=/\= the computer replied.

"Well please do." he said smiling a bit.  It wasn't the most glamorous job on the ship, but couldn't help but be happy being back on the his first home.  ser tapped his comm badge

"Conley to Ferris, we should be done with all the shuttle check in twenty minutes. Commander." Ser said that last part with just a touch of pride in in his flight chief.

[Bridge]

"Thank you sir. Feels good to be back among family." He looked over his shoulder at Ruth and nodded in agreement. He leaned in to Kyle's ear and spoke "I've waited long enough to be with her. I guessing that's why I got the secluded quarters on Deck D." He returned to his normal posture and gave a childish grin.

He finished around in his pocket and pulled out an Isolinear Chip. "I believe we made a bet once about who would become Captain first. It seems you beat me there! Congratulations, you are now one hundred credits richer and I owe you a beer." He took a pause and looked over his shoulder at Ruth and leaned in to Kyle's ear once again "You wouldn't happen to know a guy who can get us together." He was of course referring to Ruth and himself. "When we get off duty drop by my quarters. We have some catching up to do."
