[Medical Ward]

"I will, Doctors, I definitely will." Cassandra replied as her eyes shined brightly for several seconds. That should've warned the two Doctors she was planning to do something. As soon as Cassandra left, the power went out in the medical ward, spreading across the decks.

[Medical Ward]

Klabax barely had time to retort before all power went out. He gave a few comments that were quite unbefitting of an officer, and heard the next message. "Why of all the impertinent..." he said, stifling his voice before the AI Decided to do something else annoying. He switched on a flashlight he found before looking around.

He heard the next message coming in.

He chose to ignore it for now. He walked back over to the console and tried to restore power to set the updates to automatically finish.

"Aye ma'am," Lennox nodded, before considering asking to clarify that his orders recieved were in correct order. "Clarification, d'ye want me te give ye a security report alongside 'he confirmation o' 'he figh'ers or d'ye want the report an' 'he confirmation seperately?"

Katcha smiled at him. At least he had asked for clarification rather than assuming something.

"I vould like a full Security and veapons report and zen separately a report on ze fighters and confirmation on ven ze TIC is ready to start operations." She clarified.

The AI seemed either unwilling or unable to respond, and he'd had no success in reestablishing any computer function. =/\= On our way.=/\= he said, sounding even more grumpy than usual. He forced the door to the sickbay and began working his way down, using maintenance tubes as the power outage kept him from using the turbolifts.

[Hanger]

He walked in and sauntered up to the Admiral. "Reporting as ordered." he said, making it clear in his nonverbal language he wanted to leave. Now.

"I think thisss'll be assss good assss it getsss," Kintiss shrugged as he tried to take weight off his hurt foot. It didn't hurt as bad anymore, but he knew it was going to be a problem later down the line. There wasn't much more that they could do here without breaking something else, so he joined Cottle in heading to the hangar, limping slightly all the way.

"You'll get no dissssagreement from me there, ssssir," Kintiss replied as he acknowledged Kimball's presence. He didn't actually realise what the EQ was until he was halfway towards the shuttle. His experience with the Borg was fairly limited, but he recognised the implants when he saw them. Oddly, his first instinct when he saw them was a desire to study them. Learning exactly how Borg implants functioned in tandem with their host was the key to developing a more sophisticated removal procedure. Still, that was a matter for another time, and Kintiss had enough weighing on his mind already.

"I would like Senior Staff to meet in the conference room.  I will be up momentarily.  After I show Mr. Kimball to Engineering and introduce him coworkers" the half Vulcan said.

Tekin Nevir

Quote from: Jettis Jyur on January 06, 2017, 01:33:43 AM

[Main Science Lab]

Jettis chuckled at Kinley's sheepish look and admittance as to why she was trying to heat up Yominium in the first place. "Well, as long as you don't blow up the lab, I think the Captain will forgive you." He commented, glancing up as he heard somebody entering the lab. Seeing it was Tekin, he nodded to him in silent hello.

When he asked if they knew it was reactive, his eyes shifted quickly from Tekin, to Kinley, then to the garbage bin that held most of the charred remains. Sliding back to Tekin, a ghost of a smile flitted across his face.
"Yes sir, we know." He replied, deadpan. Chuckling after a moment of silence, he set down his broom, before turning back to Tekin. "So what brings you down to the lab, Kommandant? Was there something you needed?"

[Main Science Lab]

Nevir smiled and shook his head.  "No, carry on.  I'm still a science officer at heart, and sometimes I feel like visiting the lab." he said, walking over to a console, and imputing commands.

"Besides, not even Command officers are exempt from personal study.  I still need to continue my own work to keep my credentials." he explained, checking to see the latest progress.  Things were still looking good.

"Just so you know, from this point on, promotions are going to be more... demanding.  We are very impressed with the both of you, but now you need to go above and beyond." he said, turning towards the pair.

"Especially now.  This isn't a science vessel, its a warship.  And what we are doing out here.. its going to be very demanding.  I'm counting on you and the rest of the department to be the thinkers.  Creative solutions, out of the box thinking.  When you are facing a superior foe, you can't run in bull-headed like tactical or security.  Understood?" he said, standing before the two.

"I have faith in you two, just need to make sure you have faith in yourselves."

[Bridge]

When Mahak had heard that a Borg was aboard, he had blinked and his hand immediately strayed to the phaser sidearm that was always kept at each bridge station.

But no one else seemed nervous, or was reacting to an intruder alert. The Vulcan took in the strange situation with a disciplined mind and a calm heart. Though it was a rank breach of ship's security he had to let it pass. He was not a security officer and it was not his business to be saying who should be allowed onto the ship.

He wondered if Reyes would let him know what was going on with the senior staff meeting. Mahak was indifferent, but would take the information if offered. If it was his business to be told he was sure he would be.

[Conference Room]

Kali came, Kali saw, Kali didn't conquer much, but she was the first one in attendance in the conference room after a short trip to her office. She was surprised to find that the zombie-looking man was coming aboard with them or, according to the more worldly Yates, he was a liberated Borg, which was way more plausible than a space zombie.

It still made her a tad uncomfortable. Not the Borg guy - he was nice enough. The Borg race itself was creepy. The ultimate technophile species. It made her shiver.

She was glad for the meeting though. This whole debacle pretty much locked her out of the loop. Some kind of clarification would be nice aside from her just fixing up a questionable base with an AI attached to it.

[Discovery, Shuttle]

The doctor entered the shuttle and sat down, not moving and glaring at anyone who came near him. After that he stalked back to the sickbay on the ship, as the chief medical officer was to go to the meeting. He sat down and began doing paperwork in the nice, heated, lit, AI-Free zone of the medical bay.

Kirok entered the room next.  Though it took less time than expected to introduce Mr. Kimball to his co-workers, the half Vulcan was somewhat surprised to find that he had arrived before most of the others.  It was fortunate, however, that he found Ms. Reyes to be the only one who had shown up so far.

Kirok offered her a nod and moved to the head of the table.  "Thank your for your assistance on the Away Mission.  While we were on the starbase, I was able to do a bit of research.  I downloaded the information for you" he said as he pushed a padd across the table to her.

"The information came straight from the SFI database and mentioned people you listed in your personal records.  It is unfiltered and not altered in any way.  I hope this helps to build a bit of trust between us" the half Vulcan added sincerely.

Kali's eyes widened then narrowed down at the PADD the admiral put on the table. After the interrogation, the hack failure, and then the blackout, she didn't think there would be compensation - only reprimand. It rendered her speechless. Then she picked it up.

Persons of interests. It even looked like an authentic copy. She took her own PADD of the data fragments she managed to pick up from the base and compared the two. Sure enough, Kirok's copy not only matched, but filled the rest of the blanks. Most of the people on it didn't register to her but a few did.

One mentioned Gray without much surprise, but her eyebrows popped up when her father's file was on the record. What was he doing on a persons of interest file for the SFI?

"I... wow!" She covered her shock and grinned warmly at him. "This really made my day, Admiral. Thanks. Really!"

Kyan Mackenzie

:: Crew Quarters | USS Discovery ::

It was quiet now. Too quiet. During the past 72 hours, Ellsworth had caught a ride on the ship ferrying the now thawed Admiral Norton to his hew assignment, and so Kyan was without a roommate. Could be worse though. He could be dead... or have a Vulcan for a roommate which was just as bad in his estimation.

BUT!

There was a good thing as well! Since the reassignments, the Discovery had need of an Acting Chief of Security slash Tactical Officer. And given his background, the ole pointy eared Admiral had allowed Kyan to fill the role! He would now get to work on the bridge, AND operate the ship's weapons, AND finally be allowed to carry a weapon again! Of course he had been carrying a weapon the whole time anyhow, but it was a boot knife. Ok... two boot knives and a set of Andorian throwing discs. But the point was that now Kyan would be able to carry a real beam weapon again, which made him immensely happy.

The little Miran looked at himself in the mirror as he passed it. He was of course, unchanged form the last time except for the fact that he now wore the gold undershirt again denoting his department switch. This time though, instead of being a security crewman, he would be the one running the show. Lots of responsibility it was.

"I hope you'll look after me the now Morrigu." he said aloud. "I've a feeling that I'm gunna be needed in this new capacity and I don't wanna be letting my shipmates down. I kinda like some of them afterall, and it would be black sadness indeed if one were to get shuffled off whilst I'm supposed to be in charge of keepin 'em safe.

His short reflection and prayer finished, Kyan drew the pentagram sign in the air and turned away from the mirror. Admiral Kirok was on his way back to the ship and had said that there would be a senior staff meeting in the Observation lounge upon his return. For reason that he didn't quite comprehend fully, he felt as though he didn't want to disappoint the old grup, or everyone else. He'd never really felt like that before. It felt... odd to care what grups might think of him. He want sure he liked it.

Nevertheless though, no time for that now. The little officer had places to be.

~ A few minutes later ~

The doors to the conference room slid open with a soft hiss and Kyan walked through them, surprised to find the Admiral and Chief Reyes already inside.

"Ahh. Merry Met Admiral and Chief! I've come as you said the now, for the staff meeting. AND! I have a security report for you if you be wanting it."
