Cassandra appear's behind the doctor tapping her feet and she doesn't appear to be in a very good mood. "Destroying expensive equipment and hogging all our bandwith, Doctor? Your really asking for it from the Admiral!"

[Medical Ward]

"Well, we're not really desssstroying the equipment," came the hissing, slightly whispery voice of Kintiss as he attempted to access the medical database on a second console. He didn't claim to be an engineer, having failed basic engineering at the Academy, but even he could see that it wasn't going well. "It'sss doing that on itssss own." As if on cue, the computer sparked and its display flickered out. Kintiss uttered a very rude hiss and kicked it. This did nothing but hurt his own foot.

[Medical Ward]

Klabax saw Cassandra enter and was about to answer her when another voice answered the AI for him. It was one he didn't expect to hear. "Doctor." he said, not having noticed he was in the room. He turned back to Cassandra. "Well if you want this base to function ever again as a fully functional starbase, you'll need this bay repaired and up to date. If you have any issues with that, take it up with the Engineers to fix the antennas, then we wouldn't be taking up all of it." he said, as the console sparked and he hurried over and checked the console. It was fine. He looked to his boss. "Are you alright?" he asked, his medical tricorder already whirring away.

Kinley grinned sheepishly at her fellow scientist. "Yeah. So,  I'm currently seeing how Yominium would have affected planetary formation. Normally I would have asked McCullogh to do the tests, but he's down in Medbay with a nasty case of some space virus.  And Miral is off on Scanner duty, so I couldn't ask her."   Staring almost guiltily at the fused  and blackened glass, she whispered, "And, you could say my curiosity kind of got the better of me. Again." Dumping the rest of the debris into the trash, Kinley looked around, wondering where the Engineer was.

We're in Starfleet here. Weird is part of the job description.

[Kennedy - Hanger]

Kirok's combadge chirped and he tapped it.  =/\=Mr. Nevir.  Thanks for getting back to me.  I need you to find some accommodations for someone who will be transferring over to the ship.  Private accommodations if we have any and a spot in our Engineering department=/\= the half Vulcan said.

[Executive Officer's Quarters - USS Discovery]

The Bajoran nods, already bringing up the ship schematics.  =/\= "Aye sir, will do.  And its Tekin, sir.  Mr. Tekin.  First name is family name, sir." =/\= he said, allowing the channel to close.

He stood up for a moment, going to a replicator and ordering a Bajoran spice tea, before looking through the resgistry and assisgning quarters.  There was only one 'private' room left, and he was able to get it locked for a new arrival.  Now, of course, Engineering should be notified.

"Ruthie, hunny, I have some work to do.  Be good, and we'll hit the holodeck later, alright?"

He started off towards the engineering deck... but the explosion in Science left a funny sense in his mind... as if he knew something happened there.  Instead of going direct to Engineering, he instead went down to the Science lab, where his two recently promoted junior officers were there.

"I put Michaels on the base for one day..." he said with a smirk, stepping in and crossing his arms.  An arid smell hit his nose, and it all seemed to come into place.

"Is that... Yominum Sulfate?  You know that's highly reactive above 373 Kelvins, right?"

Your Welcome, and it would benefit both of us in the end." John replied before looking off into the distant bleak of vast space. He wasn't sure how to come out with what he wanted to say but tried to do the most direct past. "After this mess with 31 is dealt with, I will be leaving Starfleet for a more civilian life. When this happens, I wish for you to take over as head of SFI at that point. This job has taken a toll on me, and now I have a daughter and fiance to deal with. This isn't the lifestyle to be in with those variables.

On the opposite end, before I leave, I will get you my contact list and much more for contacting the future TIC."

[Kennedy - Hanger]

Kirok had been watching the fighters out of the corner of his eye.  But John's last comment caused the half Vulcan to turn his full attention to the man.  Becoming Director of SFI was a goal he had thought he would never achieve.

But it was something he wanted.  Almost as much as he had wanted to regain his position as an Admiral.  So, Kirok found himself nodding  slowly, but nodding.

"I would be honored to accept the position.  And I pledge to do my best to lead StarFleet Intelligence in the same fashion you have" Kirok said solemnly.  "But I think I will need a bigger ship" he added.

"Before you retire, however, I hope you will allow me celebrate you career with StarFleet.  I can be a quite gathering if you wish. Or something much larger" Kirok said.

The com link ended before Kirok could reply.  Despite the faux pas, the half Vulcan was confident Nevir would take care of the EQ's accommodations.  But introducing the liberated Borg to his First Officer and the rest of the crew was going to be a much harder matter.

Jettis chuckled at Kinley's sheepish look and admittance as to why she was trying to heat up Yominium in the first place. "Well, as long as you don't blow up the lab, I think the Captain will forgive you." He commented, glancing up as he heard somebody entering the lab. Seeing it was Tekin, he nodded to him in silent hello.

When he asked if they knew it was reactive, his eyes shifted quickly from Tekin, to Kinley, then to the garbage bin that held most of the charred remains. Sliding back to Tekin, a ghost of a smile flitted across his face.
"Yes sir, we know." He replied, deadpan. Chuckling after a moment of silence, he set down his broom, before turning back to Tekin. "So what brings you down to the lab, Kommandant? Was there something you needed?"

SPACE ZOMBIE! A strangled sound of horror left Kali's lips when she locked eyes with the maligned looking man, who was obviously a liberated Borg, though she's never encountered the Borg before. He might as well have been an actual space zombie to her.

She held her PADD between them like it was a weapon. "Who are you?!" she squeaked. "Please don't eat me!"

"I can promise that I have no intention to eat you or harm you in any way.  My name is EQ Kimball.  I have been working on the station for a little over a year now" he after raising his eyes again.

"People have suggested that I have these devices removed" the liberated Borg said.  "Perhaps they are right.  In any case, is there anything I an do to assist you.  I'm pretty good with the computers" he said as he motioned to the terminals Kali had been working on.

"Uh..." It took a moment for Kali's heart rate to climb down enough to rub two brain cells together. She idly rubbed the knot in her hair from when she bumped her head and unsteadily got to her feet. Okay, she felt kind of bad for shouting at him like that. It was like she kicked a puppy.

But if he hasn't killed her yet and said he was from the station, who was she to try and beat him over the head with her PADD? "Right. Introductions. I'm uh, Chief Kali Reyes of the Discovery. Just trying to get everything squared away before I head back to the ship." She gestured curiously to the consoles. "Think you can pull up something for me? Like... I dunno, maybe the AI's neural network?"

"I'm a Crewman.  Have been for awhile" he said with a shrug.  He looked past her toward the computer.  "Yeah, I can probably get into that.  Is it ok to approach the terminal?" he replied.

John would've continued but the primary power that was failing on the other decks finally hit the hanger bay. Lucky, this didn't affect the shield keeping open vacuum from entering the bay. "So, if I had to ask, which of your officers put Cassandra in a bad mood, Admiral?" He asked.

He was poised to ask about the vessels at the new SFI HQ, but then the lights went out.  And Norton's follow up question left him to believe the Discovery crew had warn out their welcome.  "One name comes to mind" the half Vulcan admitted.

"Apologies.  I will have everyone return to the Discovery.  It is time for us to move on anyway" Kirok added.
