Lately it had felt as though Leanna and Fells barely got a day off together, apart from the few hours they got to share, either by themselves or with Ari, whenever both of them had finished work for the day. So when the opportunity came up to enjoy a full day as a family, Lea intended to make the most of it, especially with still being in the early stages of pregnancy.

On the most part she had managed to keep the nausea at bay, thanks to a combination of medication and ginger tea, not forgetting peppermint to help with the added bonus of heartburn. That one was new as she never suffered with it when pregnant with Ari, yet wasn't naive to know that this pregnancy wasn't exactly going to be like the last one.

Still she wasn't going to stop it from ruining the day, which would include a trip to Sickbay to hopefully find out the baby's gender, so Ari could be involved. However before she even thought about getting dressed, Lea had left Fells in bed, in order to grab a shower and enjoy a few quiet minutes, before the whirlwind known as Ari woke up.

Standing under the warm water, Lea let it wash over her, feeling it sooth her skin, noticing slight changes to her body already, which made her smile.

It was Ari who crawled into the large bed and snuggled up the Fells. Under the blanket it was nice and warm and she enjoyed hiding there.
"Morning, princess." Fells greeted her and hugged her against his much larger body. By now this has become natural.

It took them a while to wake up and get up and he finally got her to get up by promising a big breakfast.
Now he had to go through with it and put some effort into the preparation while  Lea was taking a shower.
Tired he stood next to the coffee maker in boxers and a tank top and no shoes.
Ari was wearing big fluffy house shoes and declared. "You will get cold."
He raised his brows.
"Well...give me your shoes."
She went away to get a pair of fluffy unicorn shoes that his toes could barely fit in but he olayed along.

Entering the bedroom, feeling a lot more refreshed and less nauseous, Lea began to get dry, aware that the bed was now empty and had a shrewd idea as to where Fells had gone, especially when she heard Ari go past. Smiling at the thought of her daughter and boyfriend and how she wouldn't change this family time for anything, even more so with the soon to be added addition of the baby.

Sticking to a loose fitting dark blue maxi dress, Lea then brushed her hair, leaving it down, before she left the bedroom and walked into the living area. Seeing Fells always made her heart race, but at the same time when she noticed the fluffy unicorn shoes, couldn't help but grin at how he was playing along with their daughter.

Ari noticing her mother first, rushed over to hug her as Lea then greeted them both. " Morning sweetheart" she said to Ari, as she let go and Lea went over to Fells and leaned in for a kiss. " Morning Babe, what would you both like for breakfast?".

Fells looked up to see Lea all nice and showered. He offered her a smile and replied.
"How about some fruit, bacon and eggs?"
Lea made great scrambled eggs even though nobody on the star base had seen real live chicken in ages.
"Do you have any plans for today?" He could think of a million things one could do on a joint day off.
Ari suggested. "Playland?"

" Mmm that does sound good, so one nice family breakfast, coming right up" Lea replied, her stomach growling in approval at the choice that Fells had made, as she moved towards the refrigerator unit, to take out what she needed. When Fells then asked if she had any plans for today and Ari then suggested Playland, she smiled, thinking about the possibilities of them having a day off together.

" No plans as such, other than a check up at Sickbay, which I thought we could take Ari, see if we can learn the baby's gender, then the day is ours and I'm sure we can visit Playland".

While Ari broke out in loud cheers and started bouncing around like crazy, Fells froze. It seemed to happen a lot lately. Everything new about the baby made him insecure. But this time he recuperated very quickly.
"The sex?"
He took a deep breath and nodded. "Right, we talked about that. So no surprises?"
He reached for her hand and pulled her into his lap.
"If you're sure, we can do that....what do you want? A boy or girl?"
"A girl, a girl." Ari cheered while doing circles around them.
"What if it's a boy....do we have to send him back?" Fells stuck out his tongue at her.
"Girl are better." Was the simple answer so he said. "Thanks."
"Welcome."

Ari's response was what she had expected as their daughter, cheered and started bouncing around, before Fells queried what Lea had mentioned. Knowing that he had wanted to keep it a surprise, but now seemed like the right time to find out as a family. " We did and no, besides, I've got a good idea as to what he or she will be" she replied as he pulled her into his lap.

Smiling whilst Fells and Ari spoke about what the baby would be, even if Ari had wanted a girl, loving how they were with one another, before she spoke up.

" I know you want a girl sweetheart, but if it is a boy then you'll still be a great big sister".

Ari stopped what she was doing and ran over to her parents, attempting to hug them both, before her attention returned to Breakfast. " Can we have food now Mama?".

" Of course we can, why don't you and Daddy Fells, get the drinks, whilst I finish breakfast?".

Ari's preference wasn't hard to guess while Fells was hoping the opposite. Secretly he was hoping for a boy to teach him all the guy things he knew. Plus they already had Ari as a girl.
He gave Lea a look. "Does your feeling say boy?" He held her in his lap.

'Daddy Fells' sounded kind of weird because he wasn't really her dad but since the little girl and her mother liked calling him that and he had taken on the role to some extend he didn't say anything.
Plus soon enough there'd be another kid calling him dad and making him feel like an actual adult.

When she asked them to get some drinks he sent Ari off. "Go get some milk, darling."
He then looked at Lea wondering whether she'd share it with him.

It was moments like these, that Lea enjoyed the most, especially when it didn't involve either or both of them rushing around to get ready to work. So as Fells continued to hold her in his lap, she made the most of his embrace. Although when he looked at her and asked if her feeling says that the baby was a boy, she smiled, knowing that she could tell the truth.

" It does, plus this pregnancy is already slightly different to my previous one".

When Fells then asked Ari to go get some milk, Lea knew that he was still getting used to being called Daddy, but at the same time, knew that Ari had never experienced having a father before, so this was special for all of them as a family.

" Thank you sweetheart" she said as she turned back to Fells, seeing that look, well she got the gist of it, as she spoke to him.

" Yes we can share, but before we do, let me dish up breakfast, then I'll be straight back".

Kissing him firmly and quickly, Lea got off his lap and moved back to the stove, where she began to cook the eggs and bacon, whilst Ari returned with the milk and placed it down gently.

Soon breakfast was ready and Lea brought over the eggs and bacon, setting them down so they could all help themselves, then sat down beside Fells.

When she said that she had a feeling their baby would be a boy, he couldn't help the excitement he felt.
Ari was a great little girl but a boy would be very cool. So many things he could teach the kid.
Hopefully he'd be more like his mother than him though. She had the head and heart in thecright place whereas Fellsstill felt like his character was full of flaws....too greedy...too temperamental, too little obedient.
As she sat down the food he simply said. "Hopefully he'll be a lot like you."
He reached for some eggs and bacon, then got up just to return with coffee for both of them.
"Will he have your abilities?"

The excitement that she felt from Fells at the prospect of him having a son, was like she had been wrapped up in a warm blanket and surrounded by love. Having a baby was a big change for the whole family but at the same time, it was definitely bringing them even closer to one another. When Fells then commented about how he hoped that the baby would be a lot like her, she understood why he was saying it, although hoped that in time, he would see that it didn't matter as much, as long as he was healthy.

" We'll see Babe, that's something we can't determine but the main thing is that he's healthy" she replied softly before he went to get them both some coffee. Thanking him with a kiss as she too reached for some food.

At the question of whether the baby would have her abilities, she looked at her hunky Icelandic beau and answered him honestly. " He might not have them as strong as me or Ari, but yes he will have them".

Fells sipped on his coffee and looked at Lea over the rim of his cup.
It was a lot to take in and wrap his head around. They'd have a child together and the kid would have abilities that Fells couldn't even understand sometimes. At least he had a good mother who could tell him all about them.

A little lost in thoughts he wondered what he would look like. Would he have Leas darker complexion of be fair like him. Would he be head strong or diplomatic like his mother?
To think that not only genes but them as parents played a huge role in their future character was mind boggling.
"I'm so glad you already have a kid and know how to do all this....I mean, I'm starting to understand a bit but it's only a fraction of what you know."
He finally started eating his breakfast while Ari was almost done with hers.
"Wow, that was fast....quite the appetite, young lady."
She just smiled and licked her lips.

" It's certainly helped with me going through this before, but I'll help and together we can learn more, as I'm still learning with Ari, but you know what, I love our little family and I'm sure we'll do just fine, with the four of us".

Lea had meant every word and it was true, she still didn't know everything but now she had someone to share that all with and knew they could accomplish more as a unit. With her attention then moving to the food, Lea ate some of her eggs as Ari almost finished hers, smiling at both the comment Fells made and the way their daughter responded.

" I would say just like her Mama, but I have feeling that she's really keen on going to Playland later".

Ari giggled at her Mother's words, before reaching for a few slices of apple.

When they were done with their wholesome breakfast, Fells grabbed the plates and cups to put them in the dish cleaner. The machine only took a few moments and everything was nice and shiny again and Fells could place it in the built in cupboards.
Ari had started running around the apartment, bouncing on her tippy toes because she was excited about the prospect of going to playland. Fells couldn't remember what he had been like as a small child but he probably wasn't as cheerful and bouncy.
"I don't think I was like that when I was young..."
He saw Leas questioning look so he explained. "Apparently I was full of piss and vinegar as a kid according to my mom."
He smiled and then tackled Ari on her next circle through the kitchen.
"Time to go, Ariella. Use the bathroom, so we don't have to stop ten times."
Oh yes, he was familiar with that by now.

When she went to the bathroom Fells pulled Lea close. "Whatever our child is, I'll love it the same. You know that, right? Even if he's got green furr and fangs." He tapped his finger against the faint scar on his left wrist in reference to his alien stinger.

With breakfast being well received by all of them and feeling content as well as full, Lea smiled as Fells took care of the dishes, giving her the opportunity to do Ari's hair. That's when she could get her to sit still for long enough as she started running around the apartment, before Fells then explained a little more about the comment he had made. Smiling as he then managed to grab Ari on her next lap of the kitchen and reminded her about the bathroom.

It was good to have Fells there to help and nurture Ari, although when he then pulled her close and spoke about their own child, she knew that he meant it and understood the reference. " I do know Babe and exactly it doesn't matter, as he'll be loved as much as Ari is".

Seizing the opportunity and the moment of peace to enjoy a passionate kiss, before Ari returned and wanted their attention.
