The Federation Ban on Synthetic Life has been lifted.

The scans Therem worked on began showing something interesting: The water was filtered in a way to enhance the taste of the water at one of the wells at New Jericho. It mostly owed to how each well had a filter and treatment system.
However, the scan also began picking up something in the water. The scan detected the cholera bacteria in the water...but there's something off with it, as opposed to how cholera normally is...
Sitting at a bar with veranda, just along a wall by the window, so that she would be hidden in the shadows, a customer was taking a drink. She was enjoying how her results were going, and she had been waiting for where to go to next, seeing as she was reviewing a map of the Ciden IV surface. She looked up at the well in the distance, a deathly pale hand still on map PADD, and she scowled in suspicion at the well...and the human scanning it.
She leaned over to get a glance, careful not to show herself too good. "They couldn't have picked that up so soon?" she whispered to herself.

Kinley nodded to Charlotte. " Agreed. Let's do it. The quicker we can get the water tested, the sooner we can make an attack plan to purify it." she said, giving a side glance. The governor certainly seemed touchy about this whole business. She didn't want to name names, but he certainly seemed like he had more than he was letting on.
[Stationside -> Main Ops]
Returning to the station, Kinley noticed an odd bustle of activity in the area. "Um., Lieutenant Addams, Nira, what's going on?"
Quote from: Nira Said on April 17, 2024, 04:40:20 PM"Ambassador Suvin's dead. Dersch sent the details, but I think more details will come from Lieutenant Aune soon..."
The door to Ops opened and she saw Kinley arrive and give her question. Cloten, from a meter from Torra, said in a frightened squeak, "Hello, Little Orphan Annie."
Nira began telling Kinley what has been going on, getting her up to speed. Meanwhile, the EMH was staring, brow furrowed: Suvin was suffering from blade wounds, made to look like results from self harm, except the wounds were far too recent. Suvin was eventually killed from the shock, killed from the constant slashes. It was undoubtedly the same as Sot's death, but he will need an autopsy on the body to make sure.
Savar, meanwhile, waited until Nira was done talking to Kinley, and then he asked, "Excuse me, Commander Garrison, but since you're back, does that mean Ensign Fawkes will have returned with you?"
At Torra's station, the files and the more in-depth reports from Admiral Grayson on Palstine...or rather, Jimmy Koto, came in from Admiral Gillespie. In addition was a note: I gather Mister Koto is in your sector?

Savar had seen that Kinley had returned, and thus he surmised the rest of the party had returned. He then tapped his comm badge.
"Ensign Fawkes, report. How are conditions below, in light of the diplomatic party?"

Gillespie smirked. "Aye, a wee look at a wee ship," he said, with a chuckle of a scoff. "That's good to hear. Once we're done, follow me doon."

"Allow me to welcome yeh to the Horizon, Galloway," Gillespie said, despite having to take Galloway though the airlock. "Patrol and escort vessel, like the Defiant in the past. She's been on shakedown for two months noo, had to fix things over on her. Once the shakedown cruise is finished, she'll settle in a new home for assignment at an ootpost.
"You'll find more information in the database," Gillespie continued, "but suffice it to say, it's one of three prototype Aquarian class starships, refitted for more starship assignment since some of their respective Odyssey class ships they're usually assigned to are retired. Aye, I'm not joking," he added, "the Horizon used to be a yacht.
"She's been in drydock the longest due to the beating it took on last year's Frontier Day," Gillespie further explained. "A sister ship, the Revenant, had been on a cruise of her own to check out the capabilities, and when their assignment was complete, the crew reported a good deal in regards to improving the ship, which we took the liberty to get to; the old Aquarian model used to have pylons and nacelles, but the Revenant crew - temporarily captained by your former first officer, Ian - reported hoo vulnerable it was, among other things, so we began patching up the Horizon further, tinkering some, and before the Revenant herself returned to drydock.
"Among some of the things I wanted yeh to look over," Gillespie explained, "is one of the reasons we took so long working on the Horizon at drydock: We had noticed that, dated as the Challenger is, its shields make it the most powerfully defensive starships in the fleet. Point of impact shielding. The shipyard lads had been trying to emulate the design of the shields made by its former Chief Engineer, Mister Lek. Horizon is one of them, we had been intending it to give it as much of a defence advantage as much as teeth. We had hoped the opportunity to have a word with yeh on how close we made it compared to Lek's."

Lek's response took Betaika off guard, surprised that he jumped to the conclusions that we did. His communication to the entire ship that the captain was compromised clearly did not reach is enlarged ears. "Mr Lek, the commander revealed to us that the captain is compromised. A clone if you will. You are mistaken in assuming that we are the clones. I relieved the captain of his command some time ago, and he escaped." Betaika took a breath and decided to change tact. "Believe me or remain suspicious, keep engineering secured. And please only overload it as a last resort."
He turned to Hansen, who had been waiting next to him. "Search the ship and find him. We have no luck here." He informed.

Therem followed Talinn out to the colony's water supply, curious to see what the Federation had provided them. However, he was a little disappointed to see it wasn't ultra high tech.
"I thought it would be made from diamonds and lasers with how the governor talked about the fancy water. Oh well, let's take a look."
Pulling out a tricorder modified for testing his mine's well water, Therem began to scan the well. He used the device to scan the water, pipes, well walls, and even the air above the well. Afterwards, he turned his attention to the water storage container, scanning the pipes, water, and material. The device beeped after each scan, and began to compute it's findings on the small screen.
"I usually use this to make sure no chemicals or minerals are escaping my mines, so it should work here. Hopefully no one freaks out when they find out there is natural fluoride in the water..."

Lek heard the voice calling from outside the forcefield and moved carefully forward, staying in cover as he got to where he could reply.
"We're fine in here and plan to stay that way. Engineering is secure and well protected. Going by all the defense probes you have out there, if you wanted to destroy the ship, you would have already done it, so that tells me, whoever is causing all this ruckus needs a ship. You can let whoever is in charge know, I will destroy the ship before I let anyone take control of her."
