Quote from: Nira Said on April 24, 2024, 04:22:32 PM[{NPC} Lieutenant Savar | Medical Lab | Sickbay | Deck Fourteen | Outpost Solaere]

Savar watched as the bacterium was combined with her blood sample. Hearing Fawkes' analogy, the famous phrase to go with it, he said, "I can see what you mean. Here in this case, as much as it looks like a Cholera bacteria, it doesn't look and behave the way it does. I can see here that it doesn't react to human blood the way it does Vulcan blood. I concur we have to conduct more tests, but we can see the first sign as to how this strain is designed in a way to specifically affect Vulcans, and as such, potentially, Romulans."

"I don't know," the EMH retorted. "We'd have to send somebody down to the water sources in Oaish'le where people are being afflicted with Cholera so that we'll know, but I don't know what medical officer we can spare..."
[Cloten's Office | The Jackal | Deck Ten | Outpost Solaere]

The memo came in to the computer in Cloten's Office. It was still accessible; Cloten had always kept it free to use, unlocked and free to use. He had trusted on his thugs' fear of his wrath that ensured his confidence nobody would get it open.

Unfortunately, not all of his security features were up, which meant anybody who could sneak in could notice what was going on on his computer. And there was more than one way past Cloten's thugs guarding his office.

[{NPC} "Captain Hagon Ral" | Freighter Dock Three | Deck Eleven | Outpost Solaere]

"Hagon" acknowledged. She had to step out of their base ship and access a computer console.

"Computer, locate the Dersch family."

The computer gave her the information. The Dersch family was gone. They were really one step ahead, weren't they? Or was it Dersch himself? She returned to the base ship and did a scan...saw three Federation starships in the system...two top of the line vessels, registered as the Endurant and the Megistus...and an older Yeager class, registering as the Washington...

"Hagon" recognized the name. Jimmy served on the Washington...and "Hagon" put two and two together.

"Jimmy," she called in Hagon's voice, "Dersch's family are gone. However, your old ship is in the system. Is it entirely possible your old friend got them out?"

[Jimmy Koto | Clotens Office]

He noticed there was a bet about two star fleet ships....Taking on the Washington...Furry Bastreds is always looking for money Then "Hagon' contacted him.

"Jimmy," she called in Hagon's voice, "Dersch's family are gone. However, your old ship is in the system. Is it entirely possible your old friend got them out?"

"Damn it! Yea, He did.....I am going dark for a bit, Comms Off" He then sent a trap for Cloten when he was to enter and left. He now needed to steal a shuttle and board the washington.

Quote from: Ardyn Jaeger on April 25, 2024, 04:11:07 AMThe lurch sent Maddy tumbling off her chair, rather dramatically, given that she was so small.  "Mo, Kyan, what was that?"  she asked, really trying to not look like she was scared.  She tried getting a better mental glimpse at the man, but he was walking further away. "That man, He's thinking getting rid of the cap'n. I heard it."

It's gonna be stress free. they said. A vacation. Because you almost died and all... That's what they'd said when Kyan had agreed...as though it were a choice...to deactivate his commission and do another round of Immersion therapy. As it turned out, there was a court martial afoot...and now this.

"I dunno what's going on." He answered as he dug his padd out. "But it's nae an attack so, or the station woulda gone ta red alert."

When he got the padd opened, the Onlie pulled up his contacts. "I'm gonna send a message ta Jalen and Max... hopefully they both got their padds. Then they'll come get us. Whilst I do, see what else ye can ken about that guy what's got it in fer Galloway."

[Max and Lerian | Mayflower Function room]

(Just prior to the evacuation)

"This punch tastes weird. Also, Kyan told me once that Vulcans got hatch from logic eggs." Max laughed.

Lerian looked at him as though he'd grown a second head. "Ummm..."

The dark haired Onlie was about to expand on the "logic egg origin story" when his pocket chirped. "OH... hold on... its my... padd."

He's definitely acting weird. Lerian thought. Before he could question it, Max spoke up again.

"Kyan is in jail!" he said as he read the message. "With Maddie and Mo."

Then the room shook and people started for the exits. As they were swept up in the herd, Max thought he head Lerian say something about finding his dads. He couldn't hear over all the noise and shouting, and the fact that he felt funny. Luckily they'd been fairly close to the doors and had walked/been shoved out before the inevitable bottle neck of fleeing party goers. When Max saw Lerian and Savyn come out, he walked over. "Mister Savyn... can you come with us to the jail and help get Kyan and Maddie and Mo out?"

"We ought to wait for my dads." Lerian supplied. "They're not going to just hand them over to us."

Max shook his head. "They're stuck in there." he countered. "But Mister Savyn is an adult. He can take responsibility for em."

The Bajoran boy had to admit that there was some logic to that. "Ok." he nodded finally. Then he looked at Savyn. "Well, will you help us?"

The Vulcan nodded. "We do have one. I would be happy to show it to you, albeit it has been off-limits for retrofittings  as of recently. " he said, noting  the miner as he escorted the civilian contractor to the next part.

[The Aquafer]

As they came to the aquifer, it looked like it was clearly under construction, however there seemed to be a critical panel open and tampered with, a single vial left behind.

[As Steve]

One perk of being a holographic being connected by the computer, was that Steve had access to the transport buffer patterns and other computer records. Maybe a bit of an oversight for now, but it gave him opportunities to explore the planet.  He'd be back before his portable emitter

Steve found himself behind the Big Hooman he liked who helped him when there was the scary pterodactyl lady.  It looked like he was in a place where he was probably not supposed to be....

Quote from: Alexander Wu on April 24, 2024, 10:46:55 PM[Starbase 185 - Mayflower Function Room]

Genuinely concerned now that Ardyn confirmed she hadn't tried to empty the bar by herself, Alex grabbed a chair and placed it behind her, urging her to sit. "I had a sip of it, didn't really taste too off, just kind of...rummy. Now that you mention it though..." Before he could go further, Neva appeared by his elbow, looking equally annoyed and angry. "Cardassian truth serum? Why would anyone put that in the punch?" Alex pushed the question aside as less important, focusing on the second part of what she said. "Right. You keep an eye on Ardyn, I'll go ask Lahr to make an announcement."

Moving through the crowd felt almost like swimming, and Alex had his feet stepped on more than once while trying to navigate the mass of gyrating bodies. He was thoroughly sprinkled with hair sweat and other better-not-identified bodily fluids by the time he reached the stage, at which point Alex realized the stairs up were off to the side, past a solid wall of party rockers. Bracing himself for the task at hand, he stumbled as the deck suddenly lurched, somehow managing to stay upright as everyone around him jostled together. "Tabernak, what was that?" Alex spoke aloud to absolutely noone listening. The panic was infectious, and almost as soon as the ground stopped moving, he felt, more than saw, the wave of bodies surging towards him in the direction of the far doors.

Eschewing the stairs, Alex unceremoniously clambered up onto the stage, both to get out of the quieter but still a hairsbreadth away from stampeding crowd, and to get a better grasp of the situation. Lahr's announcement and directions were working well, though he could already see one problem which they were both a part of. "Hey Chief, can I borrow your microphone for a second?" He asked, scanning the floor until he spotted Zhuk's furry ears rising above the other heads. "Challengers, listen up! Move to the edge of the room out of the way, and stay put for further instruction!" The issue was, their crew didn't have a ship or stations to go to, with Challenger sequestered for the refit and investigation. They needed to account for everyone, a task which would be made all the harder if they were allowed to scatter throughout the station. "Commander Mrekrerhas, to the stage please."

Right up till a few minutes ago, Tora had been convinced that nothing could go wrong on this amazing night. Like, really, was one peaceful night to relax too much to ask? Then the entire starbase shuddered, and it didn't take a genius to realize immediately that something was wrong. Starbases were built to last. For one to shudder so heavily, something had to have gone very, very wrong.

The panicked silence that momentarily descended upon the room was deafening. Tora looked around at the crowd, who had begun to surge towards the doors in a frenzied panic. "Everyone, remain calm, please!" She called out to all present. She didn't want to end the party, of course, and she knew most people here didn't either - but there was nothing else for it. "Zhuk, help me with-" Tora never finished her sentence. The crowd stampeded past her in a panicked fit, drowning out her words in a cacophony of footsteps and screaming.
Quote from: Neva Cordon on April 23, 2024, 11:28:09 AM[ACEO Lt.JG Neva Cordon|Starbase 185|Mayflower Function Room]

Neva sipped her scotch, eyes dancing over the room. She'd felt something wasn't "right." People were "popping drunk" quicker than any should. She could feel their shock and surprise at an admission of something they didn't usually say. What would cause that?

Neva grabbed her glass & took the final sip. Grimacing slightly from the burn, she put the glass down and headed for the refreshment table. As she gathered the food, Neva kept scanning the room in her Betazoid fashion. No one seemed to be feeling "proud" or "happy" from what they'd done, but she wasn't surprised. How many people actually watched their handiwork so overtly? She gave a little snort of laughter and shook her head to dismiss the thought.

She took a small amount of punch, then returned to her table. Setting everything in front of her, she hit her comm badge and murmured, "Computer, scan this plate and cup for any..." She stopped a moment, considering how to phrase her request. Her lips thinning into a line and pulling in a deep breath through her nose, the young engineer continued."Computer, scan this food and drink for any contaminants that could affect those in this room."

"Scan results show the punch has an 80% concentration of Cardassian Truth  Serum. All other edibles are not contaminated."

Neva's eyes widened in surprise. She almost jumped out of her chair & looked for someone who either was or had been Medical trained. Not seeing someone off the bat, she made her way to Alex's side. Tapping his right shoulder from behind, she leaned in and whispered loud enough for only him to hear.

"Alex, someone spiked the punch. Get everyone to stop drinking it. I'm not sure of what someone's after, but a scan I did showed it had been contaminated with Cardassian Truth Serum." Before he could answer, Neva tore away and knocked a crewman's hand away from the punch bowl's ladle. "Don't drink that! Get something from the bar or the replicator. Trust me!" She hissed. She got an annoyed look and a muttered curse as the crewman left the table. Neva rolled her eyes and surreptitiously grabbed the punch bowl and headed to a replicator to dispose of it.

'Nobody messes with my crew!' She thought angrily 'They may not be on my Iron Lady, but they're with my Iron Lady!'

[Function room]

Ardy sat down, glad for the opportunity to try and settle her stomach, as confusing as it was, when she saw Neva come up to her, waves of ticked off terminating from her.  Ardy was more than willing to agree with that. "Someone spiked the punch? That would explain a lot of things, but why Cardassian Truth Ser-?" The station jolted her, instantly  sending her already- delicate stomach into knots. People were already starting to panic. What just happened? Was Maddy okay?

Ardy could feel the mental impressions of someone nearby, almost conspiratorally. Clearly the jolt had interrupted their plans.

"Hey Neva, Tora, Now might be the best time to figure out what the heck's gone on with whoever drugged the punch and the station quake." she said, motioning to the camera systems up ahead. "I caught a glimpse of someone's thoughts. It was definitely spiked, why, I'm not sure."

The lurch sent Maddy tumbling off her chair, rather dramatically, given that she was so small.  "Mo, Kyan, what was that?"  she asked, really trying to not look like she was scared.  She tried getting a better mental glimpse at the man, but he was walking further away. Up a tree}

Vila nodded, forgetting that Murphy and Helga couldn't see her.

"I will," she replied, concentrating carefully on placing her feet and hands where they would be the most balanced. "There's berries up here!" She replied. "Grape like fruits, but red," she said. "I can toss some down if you two can gather them. I'll be quick," she said. She scaled the tree a bit more.

"Auuugggh!!" She cried out-not out of fear, but surprise. "Oh my gosh, there's something up here," she called out. "An...animal." She smiled lightly at the creature. "Hello. My name is Lorut Vila. I promise I won't bother you if you don't bite me. I just want some of these berries. I promise to leave enough for you to eat, too," she said.

The creature just watched her as she tossed down a handful of the berries, along with the stems and leaves. She didn't know what would be edible or not. "Do you want to come along?" she asked the creature. It could be useful to them, if it were friendly.

She raised her voice a little back down to Murph and Helga.

"I am coming down," she said, beginning her descent carefully. Too much time up here could be more dangerous-if she got too comfortable, she risked getting sloppy-and then getting hurt.

Helga stepped aside as Lorut tossed down handfuls of berries before declaring that she was coming down.

Helga called up. "Don't forget the leaves. We need to those to carry the water.  Also can you see any sign of a creek or waterfall?"

Lieutenant Danjar-Torra Addams
[Outpost Solaere - Deck One - Operations Center] (5:50 pm)

Quote from: Kinley Garrison on April 24, 2024, 04:24:54 AM[Main Ops]

Savar was correct in his assumptions. While Kinley was no medical specialist in any regard, she knew well enough that an outbreak of this potentially dangerous pathogen planetside could be at least debilitating, if not devastating to those who may be susceptible to it. " Let's do it. Time is of the essence."

Noting Cloten's unease, she nodded sympathetically as she listened to him.  She still didn't like the scumbag of a hairball, but given everything,  he was still one of the people she was in charge of taking care of on this station, and she had to put her people first, whether she personally liked them or not.    "Fair enough.  Do we have the manpower to send a team to get him?  Or should we get him ourselves?"

"Thanks, Torra," she said, trying to hide her reluctance. Some of the Admirals tended to make her uneasy.  Sure, they were people too, but there was always something a bit distant or intimidating about them. With this tense situation involving mercenaries and other ships and everything,  she noted that Nira was the first one to fill them in on the situation.  Unorthodox, given the chain of command, but she had a lot on her plate in terms of simultaneous crises.  Talking first wasn't her specialty.

"Good day, Admiral.  Yes. We are currently dealing with the Washington situation, she said. She was going to ask Torra to bring up a map of the nearby ships, but it seemed like Torra was one step ahead and had already sent her the stats on her PADD. "Yes. We have a few ships in the system; The Megistus and the Endurant. " She nodded to Torra, temporarily muting the feed to the Admiral.  "Could you send in a request to said ships to assist in impounding the Washington?"

Unmuting herself again, she nodded to the Admiral. "In other news, We have other problems as well.  Ambassador Sot was found murdered and we have uncovered a potentially devastating disease outbreak that may be related to said murder. We have teams on the case."

Torra gave a slight nod to Commander Garrison in answer and while the higher ups continued to discuss the situation, the Grazerite sent out an aid request to the two nearby Starfleet vessels.

He pressed his communicator.
=/\= lt. Addams, if you would be obliged t' t'do a full security beam in t'our most luxurious five star brig cells for Emperor Dersch an' his court o' clowns" =/\=  he stage whispered this next part to the man loud enough for Addams to hear it, "ya really ought t'figure out 'ow the chain of command works buddy. Seems y'ave some trouble with it." Then back to a normal voice, continuing his conversation with the senior ops officer,  =/\= "It seems there's a ship that follows around his highness like some lost puppy. If ya have any information on it, I'd love for ya t'get it impounded. Its computer core might have some useful intel on the death's of the ambassador's an' possible other terrorist activities. I wan' it ripped out an' held securely in th' science lab. Any suspicious components, modifications, or tech should be removed and quarantined." This next part is hard. Suvik is dead, an' we found Dersch with the body. I'll need t'meet with the Judge Advocate before I proceed with a formal inquiry an'question Dersch. I'll be sendin' down lt. Marsh t'do a forensics investigation of the site. In the meantime could I also ask ya to beam his body to sick bay. I know ya will handle him with care an' I'm sure his family would appreciate the respect we afford him. Thank-you." =/\=

He turned his attention back to Dersch. "Next time, think before abandonin' yer post. An' speakin' of sherkin' yer responsibilities, what exactly did you do with your family? I 'ope fer yer sake y'didn't leave them to the wolves while ya yer playin' Rent-a-Cop."
Quote from: J.B Dersch on April 24, 2024, 08:09:40 AM|| JB Dersch || New Jericho, Suvik's resident.||

Dersch just sighed. If Aune was gonna play the dick card move, go right ahead.

JB shook his head. Aune was trying to make Dersch the villain here when he wasn't, When Starfleet wasn't there to help, they were, and Aune seemed to be forgetting that. Dersch then sent a quick com burst to the Washington.

Activate the Cloaking Device and Do not Deactivate till further notice Within seconds the Washington was no longer on scanners. "Sorry Aune, But no one is touching the Washington"

Dersch was a bit taken back by this. "No they are safe and sound, And by the way you're wasting time with me. Koto is on the Station as we speak and I am 100% positive that's he looking for either my family or me, But he won't get my family. They are safe and sound on the Washington; besides, there's 14 Security Tactical Marines standing watch over them, so Koto ain't gonna get them; and also I wasn't play rent-a-cop, I was tying up loose ends" Dersch was not going to let Starfleet take his ship. That ship had saved Starfleet asses more than he could count. So why now, all of a sudden, they want to take it, Rip it to pieces and basically salvage it. Damn Star fleet basterds

Aune's request to beam Dersch and his crew to the Brig, came in while Torra was waiting for a response from the Megistus and the Endurant

=/\= "Acknowledged. =/\=

The Grazerite began her transporter scan to determine the number of individuals.  She frowned.  With the numbers she was seeing, she would need to do multiple beam outs and make use of the empty quarters once more to hold them all.

Then unexpected her scan was scrambled and the ship vanished from her scans.  Torra gaped at the realization of what that meant.  The mercenary vessel had access to cloaking technology!

=/\= "Addams to Aune.  The Washington has somehow cloaked.  I can't read her at all.  I'll beam you and Dersch to the Brig though." =/\=

No sooner had  she relayed this information to Aune than Nira had another task for her.

Quote from: Nira Said on April 24, 2024, 03:58:57 PM[Commander Nira Said | Operations Center | Deck One | Outpost Solaere]

The viewscreen cut off. Nira then turned to Torra. "Torra, if the line to Starfleet Medical is still open, once you send the message to the Endurant and the Megistus, get in contact with Sot's examiner over there. We're going to need to have a word with that person," she added, looking over to Kinley.

Torra frowned slightly.  The comm line to Starfleet Medical had been over a half hour ago.

"I'll open a new channel to them afterwards, ma'am."

But Murphy's Law wasn't finished with Torra, because Aune called again.  Oh she missed having both her and Nelois working the same shift!

Quote from: stryker aune on April 24, 2024, 08:45:44 PM=/\= "lt. Aune to lt. Addams. Sorry t'keep bein' a thorn in yer side. But could ya relay an warrant for asset seizure for the Washington when ya get a hold of the Judge Advocate? Our esteemed guest seems t'think that rent-a-cops are above the law, and have it posted on the Integrated Criminal Network? I want to make sure that when that ship decloaks anywhere in the Federation our member states know that it's to be apprehended immediately. Thank you." =/\=

=/\= "Yes, Lieutenant, I'll have that done.  Please stand by for transport." =/\=

It was at this moment that she received responses from the Megistus and Endurant.  They would assist but were several hours out.. as Fleet Command hadn't authorized use of the slipstream drive since Frontier Day as it was based off Borg technology and it hadn't been vetted as safe yet.  This was unfortunate news for the station - being as remote as they are.  No wonder the colony and refugee camp relied so heavily on private freighters to ship in goods.

=/\= "Acknowledged.  Thank you for your assistance.  Please keep us updated with your progress hourly,  Solaere Ops out." =/\=

The Grazerite then returned her attention to the transporter controls on her console.

=/\= "Ops to Aune. Energizing." =/\=  Aune and Dersch would find themselves in the Brig processing area, outside of the holding cells.

Torra then contacted the Judge Advocate to request a seizure warrant for the USS Washington and arrest warrants for her crew.  After that was sent off, Torra, put in a comm to Starfleet Medical and requested a direct line to the doctor who had signed off on Administrator Sot's medical.

Torra paused then, mentally going over all the various tasks she'd been assigned in the past ten minutes and tried to confirm that all were accomplished.  Presently, she was just waiting on the two warrants before posting them to the ICN as asked.

Torra sat back in her seat and noted the Antican on his PADD.  Torra frowned.  She doubted whatever he was doing was good or legal because he seemed to be smiling.  She reached out to grab for the PADD.

"What are you doing? While you are in this place, you are banned from using your electronic devicees.  I don't trust you." she stated.  This was a bold statement for the Grazerite, who normally was tolerant and accepting of all sorts.

[Lieutenant Commander Don Addams - Outpost Solaere - Gym]

Seeing the tears in Torra's eyes and sensing the complex mix of relief and lingering doubts, Don held her a little tighter. He knew his return was not just a moment of reunion, but also a reopening of wounds that had not fully healed. He lifted a finger to wipe a tear.

"Torra, I should have been here sooner. I know that," Don began, his voice laden with regret. He was surely not in the right place and right time for Frontier day. That was a total miss and he had totally forgotten about it as he was away.

He paused, searching her eyes, needing her to understand the depths of his feelings. Man, he had wanted time to pause to stay with her. It was a precious moment.

Don sighed softly, a mix of sorrow and resolve settling in his voice. "But I'm here now, not because it's convenient, but because I've realized there's no 'right time' to come back. The right time is always now, because every moment away from you is a moment too long. I'm here to support you, to be with you, and to face everything together, starting now."

He gently lifted her chin with his hand, ensuring she met his earnest gaze. "I want to be the person you can always rely on, the one who is here not just during the hard times but for all times. Let's move forward from here, together. I'm not going anywhere, Torra. I'm home, for good." Deep inside, he had planned to live with that promise. If he could not follow that he would fail being a husband, unless duty calls on something that he could not step away from, however, he could risk not following that order.

In this response, Don acknowledges Torra's feelings and the weight of his absence, while also reinforcing his commitment to their future together. This approach aims to validate her emotions and strengthen their connection by being honest and open about his past actions and his intentions moving forward.

"You more fit," he said, feeling her arms. He smiled.

"Hello Nira, Hope you have been well?" He had taken about 5 Month leave after the incident with Koto. Man he was a big pain in the ass

[Commander Nira Said | Bridge | Deck One | USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D | Fleet Museum]

Nira looked around and realized it was Dersch. She scowled at him; after what had happened, she still didn't forgive him for his actions. She never forgot the words she had given him when he resumed duty: "You have your work cut out if you wish to earn our trust again." It was a mar on her festive mood that she had to see him, with her trust in him still broken.

"Hello, Jayden," Nira said, her voice gentle, but hard all the same. "Hoping to enjoy a Frontier Day where nothing goes wrong?"

"Oh, there ought to be the perfect guarantee it won't," said a gentle Irish voice that sounded familiar. Nira turned and saw something that improved her day: A brother and sister duo she had gotten to know excellently well.
"Molly! Yoshi!" she said in delight. She instantly ran to the O'Brien siblings and gave them both a hug.

"Whisht!" Kirayoshi said in surprise. "Trying to pull a bear hug worthy of a Klingon?"

"Sorry, it's...it's been such an extremely long time!" said Nira, pulling away.

"Since we been face to face," Molly added with a grin. "Yeh too, Savar."

"And you as well, O'Brien and O'Brien," Savar said.

"And Dersch! Long time, too!" Yoshi added, going over to Dersch to shake his hand. Nira scowled briefly before turning back.

"So you came to see the ship you were born on, Molly?" Nira asked.

"We had to come to see," Molly said. "Me, Yoshi and Da."

"You're father's here with you?" Nira said in surprise.

"Oh, aye. He jes had to go talk to Admiral Picard and Commodore LaForge on their way oot...you missed them by a dozen minutes or so, by the way," Molly added sympathetically. "Da will be busy reminiscing with them befar he admires the transporter room...his old post..."

"Feeling's mutual," Nira said. "Glad we can be among the first tourists of this new exhibit," she added, looking around.

Quote from: Ian Galloway on April 23, 2024, 02:32:42 PM[Station Ops - Starbase 185]

Ian was dearly hoping that Gillespie was wrong, but based on what happened in Magana, he couldn't be certain. In response to the admiral's question, the Stations Operation officer spoke up and said.

"We have detected a pattern Sir. Since the first pulse, there have been five more. One every ten minutes for a total of six. Each is progressively closer and more powerful. Each pulse seems to be occurring roughly five lightyears apart. The next one will be right on top of us. There, I've just detected pulse number seven. The next pulse will hit in five seconds!"

Sonak immediately announced.

"All hands brace for impact."

As per the Ops officer's countdown, the pulse hit the station and the whole massive structure shuddered. Ian could only marvel at the amount of energy it would take to make something as large as a starbase shudder, but the temporal pulse hit the shields backed by polarized chronitons and dissipated just as it had for the Challenger. He sighed in relief and replied.

"Score one for the 'Wu Defense'."

When Sonak arched an eyebrow in his direction like only a Vulcan could manage, he said.

"Named after Alexander Wu, Operations officer on the Challenger, he's the one that thought of usin' chronitons as a shield against a temporal pulse."

"Sir, we are being hailed, radio frequency."

Ian had to choke back replying as this was not his command as Sonak spoke.

"On screen."

"Greetings people of the Federation. We are from the planet Land. I am Marek Garr and my companion is Neediki Remos. We would like to speak to Captain Ian Galloway of the USS Challenger."

Ian blanched and muttered.

"Bollicks."

[{NPC} Admiral Hamish Gillespie | Ops | Deck One | Starbase 185]

Gillespie flinched when the station was hit. It was outright astonishing at the power levels it took to get a station to hit, particularly coming from Landser technology. Still, he was impressed with how Galloway's suggestion and how the shields protected the station to Galloway's specifications.

"Impressive on your Mister Wu, Galloway," Gillespie said. "His next promotion commendation will be on me," he added with a smile.

Then came the contact. It was definitely the Landsers. Gillespie's mutterance was simultaneous to Galloway's: "Bollicks."

He hastily sent two messages, one to Carter and to Jellico: "Get to Ops as fast as possible, situation developing." Then, taking advantage of the audio, he relayed a text to Galloway on a PADD: "Get your crew assembled, we're going to need their help."

Ardyn shook her head as she wiped off her mouth after the sudden scene that just happened, face somewhat flushed from embarrassment, given that all eyes were now on her.  "No. I just had the two shots. Was actually trying to avoid a hangover today so I could pick up Mads later," she said, really confused as to why she lost her lunch. If she wanted to, normally she could hold her liquor pretty well. Several years on the circuits would do that.  She wasn't even really drunk right now, at least, she didn't feel that way." Everything seemed just fine before she had that glass of punch.

"That punch had a weird aftertaste, did you guys notice it? she asked the others standing around their table.

[Starbase 185 - Mayflower Function Room]

Feeling the station shudder, Lahr gripped his mixer tightly until the shuddering stopped.  From his place on stage he could see the crowd press towards the exits.  This was bad.

Lahr cut the music and called up a boatswain's whistle on his mixer and played it. Those with Fleet training should respond appropriately by freezing in place at attention.

Then over his mic he called out directions. "Civilians please exit in an orderly fashion through the main exit.  Senior Officers proceed to your stations exiting through the side exits to the left and right of the stage. Enlisted remain where you are until others have safely left the hall then make your way to your ship and station. "
