Happy New Year, everyone and welcome to the first news update of 2009.

I would like to begin by announcing that the probation period of Private Kai Black is over. It is my pleasure to welcome him to the simm as a full enlisted member of Shadow Fleet. Along with this, I would also like to award him his USS Discovery ID Card, as show below:

I would like to welcome Private Alexander Clarke to the simm. Private Clarke will be joining Bravo squad of the detachment, under Lieutenant Nikolai Nechayev. Private Clarke has also been granted accelerted promotion due to his detailed application and previous experience on Expansion Fleet. He will therefore become one of the most senior enlisted marines on the ship, once his probarion period has expired.

Please welcome him to the simm.

OK, so it is now 3rd January, 2009. Christmas is over. New Year is over. And therefore, I expect EVERYONE to be posting regularly once again. The only you will get out of doing so is if you file a legitimate LoA request.

Since the only person who is on LoA at the moment is Marine Captain Wolfgang West, everyone else should be posting.

Let's get Mission 4.5 out of the way and then we can concentrate on the second half of the season, and trust me, it is full of suprises!

Let's get going again Discovery!

I'd like to thank everyone who posted in "Dawn, Part II". All of you made it an excellent mission full of plot twists and excitements. I'm sure you'll agree that it was one of the best missions this season.

May I also take the time to remind those who are being transferred across to the station that your transfer will commence as soon as I mention it in-game. Speaking of which, we will be making a guest appearance in the station mission entitled "Homecoming". During this mission, all personnel will post in the appropriate topic on the station.

That's all for now. Well done on the last mission and keep it up!

The next mission entitled "Homecoming" has now begun. For this mission we will be guest starring on the station and therefore all posts go in the station mission topic. Please refrain from posting until I have had opportunity to post an introduction.

Also, all posts should begin with your character's location in brackets. For example:

[Operations, Blaisdell Station]

Thank you.

Well done to everyone who participated in the first joint-sim mission in Shadow Fleet. You all did well considering it went on quite a while.

Moving on...

I have now started the next mission entitled "Old Friends". This idea was submitted by MCPO Shelaf Greegy and he promises it will be a good one!

That's all for now.

I know it is earlier than usual, but I have posted the preliminary mission overview for season seven now. It includes some ideas submitted by you and some myself and Cmdr. Bradley have thought up. It is intended to be a stand alone missions season, so any ideas you have for missions should fit in OK.

Remember, if you do have any ideas, get them in to the first officer ASAP cos the season is sure to fill up.

Just a quick announcement.

I'd like to congratulate Ensign Safi Larson on her recent promotion. For those of you who don't know, Ensign Larson began her officer training all the way back in the mission "Initiations". Since then she has been training IC to become a commissioned officer in Starfleet and now it has finally happened. Due to her experience as a non-commissioned officer in the engineering field, she was also assume the Chief Engineer's position. Please congratulate her on this achievement.

Well done, Ensign!

Just a quick reminder that we still have two open slots that need filling in season 7. If you have any mission ideas that you think might make an excellent addition to the list, please get them in ASAP. Remember, even if it is just a vague idea of what you would like to do, we can discuss it with you and shape it into a viable mission.

I await your submissions!
