Mission Title: The Source
Synopsis:

THE SOURCE

The crew of [USS Starship] is trapped in an anomaly. That morning, someone (NPC, but Lt. or higher) was murdered on the ship, that happened 'real time' but they have to keep going back 'Groundhog Day' style until they get all the clues to solve the murder.

To do this (eventually) they have to use the person who is murdered, using a new technology where the consciousness of people can be transplanted into the bodies of others without the knowledge of the deceased but with the permission of the surrogate, and are sent back in time to solve the murder.

Unbeknownst to them, it's actually a computer virus that has infiltrated the android on board, and it changes every time that they go back in the loop.  Thing is, each time they go in the virus code changes so that the android just does something else not in keeping with his normal mien.

Someone will eventually think 'What's got into [Android] lately, he's acting very strangely...'

It transpires that some unknown entity needed help and the ancestors of this murdered person hadn't been exactly helpful, so they took their revenge and they won't let the ship out of the anomaly until justice has been done.

Starting Point:  NPC Murdered Dude(tte) doesn't show up for duty just prior to getting trapped in anomaly, gets discovered, and ....
End Goal: Discovery of virus, erasing of the virus and subsequent clean up, peace made with the 'entity'
Story points that must be passed?:  Finding clues, appeasing the 'entity'

Departments: (To make sure everyone has something to do.)
- Flight: General
- Engineering: Possible repairs after the android runs amok on one of his daily 'something else dumb happened to the Android'
- Operations: Trying to solve the murder in conjunction with Sec/Tack and Medical
- Security and tactical: As above
- Medical: As above plus autopsy and subsequent use of the brain to get data.
- Science: Examining the anomaly

NPCs of the Android, murdered person and the 'entity' will be needed.
