Mission Title: A Candle in the Dark
Synopsis:
The crew of the ship is on a bland, boring, deep space mission when the ship loses all power- not even battery backups! The crew must find a way to get a signal to Starfleet using no computers or powered systems- manual controls only- before they run out of air.
Starting Point: Boring routine deep space mission- a pleasant surprise maybe.
End Goal: Get a message and response from Starfleet
Story points that must be passed?: Mission>lose power>get a mayday to starfleet.
Departments: (To make sure everyone has something to do.)
- Flight: Move ship, start drift by chemical RCS thrusters if possible, attempt to restore helm control and flight capabilities
- Engineering: Keep warp core from losing containment with nothing more advanced than a wrench, restore power if possible (It's not)
- Operations: Ration supplies and available water, food, etc..., assist other departments, work on message to starfleet via oldstyle communications systems
- Security and tactical: Fight off boarders, if there are any, with no phasers (They require power!), keep ship secured, keep crewmen out of supplies, maintain order
- Medical: Keep crew healthy with nothing but 20th century tech, prepare for abandon ship scenarios if needed
- Science: investigate what happened to lose power, attempt to continue sciencey- stuff, work on message to starfleet via oldstyle communications systems
