Mission Title: 24 Seconds to Midnight
Synopsis: A distress call is received from the research ship USS Darwin, a ship studying the planet Kovark-XII. The ship has crash-landed on the surface of the planet. The only problem? The planet Kovark-XII is in a stage of development around Earth's nuclear age (2003 era). With cultural contamination near it's max, the crew must do all it can to minimize contamination- before General Order 24 must be enacted. The planet's nukes are tipped toward space, with the planet fearing an alien invasion and detecting the ship now in orbit.

General Order 24: If a commanding officer deems that a planet has been culturally contaminated to a point where correction is no longer viable and said culture now poses a direct threat to Starfleet personnel or Federation civilians, he may order the destruction of a planet's surface to occur within a time limit set upon invocation.

Starting Point: Receiving distress call from USS Darwin
End Goal: Enacting General Order 24: Destruction of the planet's culture and populus.
Story points that must be passed?:
Receive Distress Call
Arrive in Planet's System
Orbit Planet
Get Detected
Determine level of technological sophistication
Ward off first nuclear strike
Find and rescue any survivors of orbital crash
Try (in vain) to save the planet's people from themselves and their fears
Enact General Order 24: Obliteration of planet via trilithium and orbital strikes


Dang, this one is dark....

Departments: (To make sure everyone has something to do.)
- Flight: Arrive in orbit, keep ship out of range of nuclear strikes
- Engineering: Repair ship from nuclear strikes, away team to rescue people.
- Operations: Organize SAR, Damage Control, Cultural Contamination Control, Ect... Away team heads
- Security and tactical: Defend Away Teams, Operate weaponry that destroys planet.
- Medical: Treat injured, radiation treatment, away team to SAR site
- Science: Salvage and catalogue as much of the planet's culture as possible, upload USS Darwin's logs

Can this be reworked or used as is for a Starbase mission?

It very much can, Though use of the Auxiliary Craft may be needed.
