Mission Title: Andy's New Toy

Synopsis: Oh no! Someone, or something, has taken control of the starship! While on route to their next destination, the Discovery has seemed to have surrendered control to an outside force.

Starting Point: The Discovery are on their way to their next destination when some strange things start happening.  Things just don't work properly, as if functioning under someone else's command, including but not limited to the replicators, turbolifts, and the holodecks. All leading up to the flight operations going completely out of control.

Story points that must be passed?: After flight operators lose control of the ship, they see another starship in the vicinity. They try to hail it for help, to no response.  It is determined through scans that there are no life forms aboard the other ship, however it is being controlled by an outside force similarly to the Discovery.

Against their will, the Discovery's phasers go off at the other ship!  The blasts are returned, while the command crew remain powerless.

Meanwhile, Engineering have managed to isolate a few consoles back to their control, and used those to scan their surroundings to find this outside force. They do discover that it is a giant space-dwelling alien species, similar to the one that was encountered by the USS Enterprise whose young thought the Enterprise was its mother.

Science crew have to work with Engineering to find a way to send pulse waves to the creature to communicate with it.

End Goal: To find out that the ship had been taken over by a giant space dwelling alien species, who mistook the Discovery as a vacant ship it could play with.  Upon figuring this out, the crew has to find a way to communicate to the alien that the vessel is occupied and not a toy.

Departments: (To make sure everyone has something to do.)

- Flight: Fly the ship to their destination; Once the ship is taken over, try and override the outside force to gain back control.

- Engineering: Keep an eye on ship mechanics as things start to break down/malfunction; Manage to isolate a few consoles from the rest of the ship so that they can find out what's going on.

- Operations: Try and counteract the outside force as the operations panels gradually lose control.

- Security and tactical: Keep the ship's crew and passengers under control and safe.

- Medical: Standby for crew who are injured from malfunctioning equipment.

- Science: Study the alien life form and figure out a way to communicate with it.
