The sound of the communicator was a harsh intrusion into Lek's peaceful day and he cringed as the captain's voice violated the calm surroundings of the falls.

"Figures."

Sighing heavily, he reached over and tapped his commbadge.

=/\= "Acknowledged." =/\=

Standing, he looked out on the beautiful setting and sighed again.

"Whatever is going on, if it's a security matter, that is not my business, so back to the ship it is."

=/\= "Lek to Challenger one to beam up." =/\=

As soon as he was aboard, he stopped at his quarters to change back into his uniform and found he was the senior officer in engineering.

"Figures. Erix has a knack of not being here when there's a situation, but he is home, so I can't really blame him this time."

Moving to his station, Lek immediately began checking the ship's power systems to ensure the Challenger was ready for whatever it was they were going to have to do.

Dylan sighed as he completed another lap. This was his final one. He still hadn't figured out why the meeting was taking place, but overall it was heated down there. Tellarite facing off against Andorian, Human arguing with Denobulan. Civilians and Starfleet all having their own discussions. Dylan had just finished a loop on the catwalk when an ear-piercing shriek filled the air. Doors hissed shut and sealed magnetically as alarms went off, security flooding the area below to secure the brass as Dylan drew his own phaser, looking around for the cause of the alarm.

Rayek, at his position outside the meeting room catwalk area, tensed at the sound a high-pitched shrieking alarm sound. He readied his phaser in hand and quickly glanced over the small security room.  No intruders.  It was just the five of them.  Suddenly the door beside which Rayek stood gave a slight hiss and clunk as it sealed shut magnetically.

"You two, Rolands and Tragnar.  Phasers out and on stun." he said pointing towards a pair of Ops personnel-turned security.  "Secure this point.  No one other than Security personnel is to enter or exit the meeting room until that alarm turns off. Understood?"  Both men nodded.

Rayek looked to the two others who like himself had pulled their phasers and had them in hand.  "The rest of you with me." He turned to the door panel, entered the by-pass security code he was provided at the start of the shift given that the code changed with each shift, and unsealed the doors temporarily.  He and his team of 2 moved into the meeting room on high alert.

Their entrance was immediately met with phasers pointed at them by the nearest security that lined the catwalk.  Rayek and his team offered up their security clearance.  For a moment, Rayek saw the distrust and tension on more than one face and wondered briefly if he was going to face another barrage of 'friendly' phaser fire.  A quick check of their security clearances, ensured that Rayek and his team were who they said they were.  The phasers were directed back to a neutral position.

Rayek stepped further out onto the catwalk and glanced over the room from his  position.  He noted Commander Briggs and Captain Torngate also on the catwalk though all three of them were separated by a complete length of catwalk.  Down below, the meeting area was in chaos as security personnel surrounded each and every high-level brass.

Rayek surveyed the chaotic scene with alertness but could pin-point no immediate threat or target however.  He was about to check with the security log to determine where the alarm originated when his commbadge chirped.

=/\= Rayek and Briggs, this is the Captain. Report to my location. =/\= he said, using a wall console as he began to walk down the corridors to the base of the meeting room.

=/\= "Acknowledged, Captain." =/\=  Rayek responded.  He glanced over to where he last saw the Captain but the man was no longer there.  A quick check of the entire catwalk showed no sign of the Captain.

Rayek ordered the two men with him to stand fast and keep alert, then moved back into the security alcove room where he accessed a computer panel.  "Computer, what is the location of Captain Dylan Torngate?"

"Captain Torngate is in corridor sub3C."  sub3C... Rayek pictured the subterranean compound in his mind.  Corridor sub3C was the main corridor between the catwalks and the north stairwell that led further down into subterranean base.  It also was the quickest route from the Captain's last position to the meeting room below.

Rayek exited the security alcove out into the corridors.  He moved at a brisk pace along a route that would lead to the where he suspected the Captain was headed - the meeting room below.

On his way there his commbadge chirped again this time to have the Captain announce an emergency recall of all personnel.

He sighed as he waited for the crew to respond and show up. There was a spy somewhere, and they needed to be rooted out.

So it wasn't just a false alarm.  Well, the sooner he met up with the Captain the sooner he would be briefed on whatever details the man had.  Rayek picked up the pace and jogged the rest of the way.

A minute later Rayek caught up to the Captain just outside the meeting room.

"Captain,"  Rayek greeted as he arrived.  "Reporting in, as ordered."

He had questions but given that the XO wasn't yet present, Rayek held off asking anything.  Figuring the Captain wouldn't want to repeat the details over and over again.   For the moment Rayek would be patient.

The more he looked around for the source, the less he understood. The screen indicated a leak of some kind- not an intrusion, but something that had gotten out. A mass transmission had been intercepted leaving the facility via unauthorized means. Unfortuately, Dylan was partially responsible for security here, so he had to go investigate more. He tapped his Commbadge. He knew he'd seen at least two people he could trust around here.

=/\= Rayek and Briggs, this is the Captain. Report to my location. =/\= he said, using a wall console as he began to walk down the corridors to the base of the meeting room.

=/\= Acknowledged, Captain. In route.  =/\=

They were only a couple of levels apart, so he made pretty quick. Petty Officer Rayek was already there.

He drew his phaser as he approached. "Reporting in, Sir." he said.

Dylan nodded to the Crewman and a few other Starfleet personnel as he waited outside the door. The alarm had been finally shut off, and the base was on lockdown. Black sheets of metal had descended across every door, window, and vent, letting in nobody, and letting nothing leave. "Petty Officer." he said, his voice grim as he thought of what might have just happened. Overall, he didn't know what to expect. The alarm was when something- a PADD, transmission, or scan- had been detected inside the compound, and had gotten out. Something or someone had remotely accessed the files or gotten a transmission out... and with the security of this conference, that was a matter that would need to be... dealt with.

Dylan looked on as Kyle rounded the corner.

He then turned around as the code was processed, verified, and admitted from the other side of a thick, opaque black barrier. He turned to face his crew. About six of them now stood on the far side of the room.

"Alright, here's what I know. Something or someone was spying, and a transmission got out. Kyle, I want you to begin looking through the security logs and computer systems. Find out if anything involving them was the problem. Rayek, you and your group secure the room and begin checking people for bugs. I don't care how many bars are on their sleeve. Nobody in, nobody out without my direct authorization. Is that understood?" he asked, as the heavy metal slowly began to rise. A timid Human security guard stood, phaser shaking in his hand. Dylan brushed right past him, ducking under the door.

He immediately moved to the center of the room, and began asking questions, getting half-answers and grumbles from those present. Whatever they had been talking about, nobody wanted to say.

Suddenly, a Grazerite strode onto the bridge. "Doctor Vaughan?" he called out, his face impassive. Once he had the attention of the doctor. Thousands of patients medical details and records were just released to the public subspace networks. The hospital is requesting any information we have."

The crewman stood, looking uneasy, as he waited to see how his news would be taken.

Several of the attendees stood and scurried away from the conference table as the CO and his team made their way into the meeting room. Kyle took up residence at the first available terminal. He few moments later, he found found what he was looking for. He turned to face the Captain.

"Sir." he called out and waited for Dylan to turn. "I've found several records pertaining to this meeting that have been transmitted off the planet to an as of now, unknown location. But they weren't sent using security codes from anyone in this meeting."

He watched as the Captain shot him an unspoken question. The one he wanted to avoid. Who's code?

Kyle looked around the room and them back at his Commanding Officer. "Yours, Sir. It was your code used to transmit the data. Under the circumstances, Captain, I should be taking you into custody." Kyle said, hoping he wasn't about to make a mistake. He really hadn't know Torngate all that long. But as a former CO himself, you learned to trust your gut sometimes. "Whoever it is, they're good. Some of the committee began protesting but Kyle ignored them. "What are your orders, Sir?" he asked his CO.

Dylan frowned as he listened to one of the Admirals, who had just been telling him off for messing up his perfectly good schedule. Dylan... didn't care. He knew what his job was, he knew why he was here. And right now, his job was keeping whatever happened, contained. Whatever it was. What he didn't account for was Kyle calling him over only a few short minutes later.

He walked quickly over to the man, and leaned over the console, trying to get a good look at... whatever was on the screen. A flashing bar held some weird information, but before he got all the way across he heard the man speak. As Kyle had predicted, he had indeed asked the silent question.

He didn't like the results. He looked at the line, and looked at it again. But there it was, somehow, somewhere, his access codes had been used to release classified audio recordings... that themselves should not have existed. Double bad. But, the Commander was right. This wasn't going to be wrapped up pretty.

"Well... shit." he started, running his fingers through the fore of his hair before looking at the line once more- was someone playing a terrible joke on him? He wasn't a traitor... but those were his codes. Plain as day.

"Petty Officer tr'Lhoell!" he called out, as he took his phaser out, and handed it to Kyle. "Petty Officer. Listen closely. Your orders are to take me into custody on charges of Espionage against the Federation and escort me to the Brig." he said, his voice level but obviously stressed. He then looked at Kyle. "Figure this mess out, Commander." he said, as he dropped his Commbadge from his chest onto the table in front of him.

"Well come on, Petty Officer. We haven't got all day."

Lizzie got to her feet in astonishment. The release of all that confidential information could be catastrophic for those concerned.

"Thank you for the information." She replied. She then turned to the Duty Ops officer.

"Contact the Captain and inform him if the situation. Then access the subspace networks and see if we can find an origin point for the release." She ordered before turning back to the Grazerite.

"Contact the Hospital and inform them of the incident at the compound. Not the details, just that there has been one. I am going on the fact that I believe the incidents are related in some way. Offer them our assistance if they need it, but if it just records there is not much we can do."

Whle she was speaking the Ops officer opened a channel.

=/\= Challenger to Briggs. We have been notified that the medical facility has suffered a cyber attack and thousands of records have been released to the public domain. It appears to have happened around the time of the incident at the Compound and we are looking into it further, =/\=

He had barely gotten through a third of his section when the Captain called for him.

Rayek had missed what the two had been speaking of earlier so looked to the Commander for confirmation of the Captain orders.  At the Captain's impatient prompt, Rayek looked back towards the Captain. "Yessir."  He took hold of the Captain's arm firmly with one hand while he pulled a set of  hand-restraints from his duty belt and began hand-cuffing the Captain.

"Captain Dylan Torngate, I am Petty Officer 2nd grade Rayek tr'Lhoell, you are under arrest on suspicion of Espionage against the Federation.  I advise you that under Article 31, UCMJ, you have the right to remain silent, that is, say nothing at all. You have the right to Starfleet legal counsel free of charge.  In addition to Starfleet counsel, you are entitled to civilian counsel of your own choosing, at your own expense.  You may request a lawyer at any time.  If you decide to answer questions you may stop the questioning at any time. Do you understand these rights?"

With the Captain in cuffs and with his rights advised to him, Rayek, with his hand still holding on to the Captain firmly, began to guide the Captain towards the door.   He used his security code to reopen the door and ushered him through and down the corridors all the way to the stations Brig where he ordered the attending security to open a cell and guided the Captain within.

As they walked through she was pretty sure that she had spotted Bonnie from the ship and acknowledged her with a friendly wave before continuing on their way until they stopped in front of the reflective pond. Taking Elijah out of his stroller so they could sit on the edge and look properly at the fish, smiling as Elijah touched the water with his fingers, gurgling happily as the fish came up just under the surface allowing him to stroke them.

[Meditation Gardens]

Lyric sat up in the pond, giggling, and back in her Operations uniform. Her  clothing was suspiciously dry, incongruent with having been submerged in the water. She reached out to pat the boy on his head, but drew back once she noticed the other two women.

"I, uhm... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bother you. I wasn't gonna... I'll leave you be now." As she spoke she drew further away, unsure where to go. Most people didn't handle her shifting in front of them well and she hadn't intended to surprise them with it. She glanced back and forth looking for an escape.

[USS Challenger - Transporter Room 2]

She found herself on board the Challenger once more. It was a somewhat confining environment compared to the open air down on the planet's surface, but also somewhat comforting. At least she had a purpose and a place here. Speaking of purpose, she didn't quite know what to do now that she was back on the ship. CPO Harriman was her direct supervisor, so he would be the one to ask for an assignment. He kept a specific daily schedule, so Lyric had a good idea where he was currently: the Mess Hall. Undoubtedly he was eating his usual peanut butter sandwich at this time. She decided to make her way over there.

Bonnie had her full attention as she shared an insight into her life, listening with interest and understood what it was like to finally be able to open up to someone and glad that Bonnie was comfortable enough to do that with her. Liv always had that ability to be a shoulder to cry on or the person someone could open up to when they had bottled up everything for so long and never once had issue with that and perhaps in some way she was an unofficial counsellor.

Elijah still gurgling happily trying to formulate words as Bonnie smiled at him then continued before changing the subject and didn't blame her for doing so. " I'm glad that you could open up to me Bonnie, I can only imagine how you must of felt but just like me being here allows us to remember the good times and I agree at Elijah's age I didn't have a care in the world either " she replied softly.

Then answering her question about Betazed " It is beautiful and I'm happy that we've got to experience this and I can see the appeal of moving here".

Meditation Gardens

Bonnie hadn't talked to Olivia much before, but there was something about her which seemed to calm everything around her. It was a gift. Bonnie looked down to the fish and stared at them for a moment, she smiled as they darted around the pond and she looked back up, frowning as the crew was ordered back to the ship on an emergency recall. She looked at Olivia and shrugged with an apologetic look on her face.

"Seriously, I wish I could stay with you longer but duty calls." Bonnie stood up and looked down at Olivia. "I will see you back on the ship, itd be great to see you again soon." With that, Bonnie offered a parting nod and then tapped her commbadge.

=^=Moors to Challenger, one to beam up.=^= Bonnie materialised in the transporter room shortly after her request.

USS Challenger - Transporter Room 1

After Bonnie had been transported to the ship, she quickly made her way to the primary science labs to make sure everyone was ready to go in case they were needed. Bonnie made it there after a short trip in the turbolift.

Primary Science Labs

Bonnie walked into the lab and smiled at the few people she walked past as she made her way in. She walked into the centre and begun to speak. "Ok everyone, do we know what's happening other than the fact that we know it's a security breach?" Bonnie asked.

Closing the channel, Lizzie wondered what was going on. She also thought it a bit of a coincidence that files had been stolen from a centre where she had been working at at the same time an incident had occurred at a conference where a large portion of the ships crew had been providing security.

It was a good job, she reflected, that she had not been granted unrestricted access to the medical centre's files. As a guest physician, she had only partial access to specific files. If she needed more than that she had to request for a staff physician to access them. She figured they would have given her the clearance if she had been there much longer, as it was becoming problematic for her to request access every time she needed it.

Sitting back at the auxiliary station, she waited for either the Captain or Kyle to return. Hopefully one or other would be able to let her know what was going on.

[Meditation Gardens - Betazed]

Liv was enjoying getting to know Bonnie that little bit more but then several things happened that made the XO's wife realise that life never got boring being part of the Challenger's crew. Firstly was the appearance of a woman in an Ops uniform that was dry despite her being in the water, smiling as she went to pat Elijah's head before she realised her and Bonnie were there and stopped. Quickly apologising before making an hasty exit and Liv wished she didn't have to go as it dawned on her that this must be their Changeling crewman and made a note to speak to her when she could.

Then came the Captains recall which naturally worried her especially knowing that Kyle was also at the Beta site followed by Bonnie leaving although before she did replied to her " I understand and you will and I look forward to it " she said before the beam took hold. Looking around Liv decided that it was best for her and Elijah to also return to the ship knowing that Kyle would want them too stay safe and despite her wanting to go to him it wasn't a good idea not when she didn't know what was happening.

So before she contacted the ship arranged for the family's belongings to be beamed back to their quarters on Challenger then took hold of Elijah folded his stroller and tapped her commbadge.

=/\= Mrs Briggs to Challenger, two to beam up  =/\=

[Challenger - Transporter Room One]

Seconds later Liv and her son rematerialised on the transporter pad and after shifting Elijah slightly on her hip got off the pad and secured him in the stroller once more as she thanked the Transporter Chief and left keen to get her son settled back in their quarters.

[Deck 2 - Brigg's Quarters]

After a short life ride, Liv waited for the doors to open then once they did, stepped out and made her way to the quarters she shared with Kyle. Tapping in her access code, the door slid back and her and Elijah walked in and she took him out, sitting him down on the floor near the sofa and took out some of his toys. watching him play trying to distract herself from worrying.
