Mission Title: Switch
Synopsis: A group of amoral miscreant rogue-types are pulling a seriously ambitious heist aboard your ship or station. Using a mysterious alien device, they have switched consciousness with a handful of your crew (2-3). Essentially, they've swapped themselves with crew-members in various key departments. Unbeknownst to everyone else, these thieves are now walking around your ship, creating mayhem and havoc as distractions so they can pull off their dastardly plan. The crew affected are residing in unfamiliar bodies, kept away and off-site on another ship (possibly cloaked/hidden by a nebula). For added fun the CO could even approach a couple of players in secret and have them play the criminals in their characters' bodies, so the suspicion of the rest of the crew is natural and played out in story. But what exactly is it that these thieves are after? Is it an item... or a person? Do they want the ship itself or is this some type of revenge? Can the crew figure it out in time to recover their crewmates and return them to their rightful bodies?

Starting Point: Starting out business as usual, leading into suspicion if certain characters are acting strangely and when certain acts of sabotage come to light.
End Goal: Capturing the intruders, figuring out the alien device and finding the thieves' cloaked ship.

Story points that must be passed?:
- Initial suspicion, acts of sabotage.
- Investigation into the strange occurrences on the ship, secondary systems failing, perhaps a virus in the ship's systems.
- Realisation that there are intruders on board, and they're walking around in your friends' bodies. It could be anyone.
- The capture and interrogation of one of the responsible parties.
- A method developed to test anyone under suspicion.
- Alien device found, criminals discovered.
- Discovery of the criminals' cloaked ship and successful use of the device to restore all to normal.
- Dealing with the aftermath and the captured thieves.

Departments:
- Flight: Finding the cloaked/hidden ship. Systems may have been sabotaged, so outside the box thinking may be required.
- Engineering: Dealing with any repairs needed as a result of the system sabotage or possibly a virus released by the saboteurs. Work with Science department to study the alien device.
- Operations: Organising and assisting with repairs, keeping communications up throughout the ship, assisting with the investigation.
- Security and tactical: Must investigate the acts of sabotage, dealing with possible panic and paranoia once news of the intruders reaches the crew, must assist with tracking down the intruders and any/all interrogations.
- Medical: Devise a way to differentiate between intruder and crew. Deal with any injury, physical or mental, as a result of sabotage or body-switching experience.
- Science: Study of the alien device; its origin, how it is used, how it can be reversed. Possibly assist Flight/Ops with location of the hidden ship.

Of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these, 'It might have been.'
