Character Bio:
The youngest child of Caius and Fausta Marvel, Albus was born into a litter of boys and bred to be a warrior. It was a task he took to from an early age, competing and holding his own in wrestling, rugby, discus, javelin, track, and boxing. However, as he grew, he also developed a love and appreciation for the sciences (an unhealthy appreciation, in his father's estimation), and as he grew, he found himself spending more time experimenting with physics and less time throwing hammers on the field. His mother encouraged his curiosity, and as a professor, had access to tutors, not to mention laboratories, where Albus could learn.
Two of his older brothers joined Starfleet and began their careers as Security officers, while the other two followed in their father's footsteps and have become famous as televised gladiators.
Albus himself is a fun-loving, gregarious, loud, hard-drinking, weight-lifting man of science and engineering. His love of science took him to Starfleet Academy where he performed well enough to graduate his cadet cruise and be promoted as a Gamma-shift Operations Ensign aboard the Akira-class USS Kyoto.

Albus worked his way up to the rank of Lieutenant, and was poised to be promoted to Lt. Commander when he led a mutiny against his commanding officer. At his court martial, Albus testified that his CO had been replaced by a dupliate from an alternate dimension. As the captain and all his co-conspirators were deceased and the ship itself gutted and floundering, there was no one living who could deny or corroborate his evidence. All video records had been somehow wiped out (by Section 31, claimed Albus). The officer's saving grace was a transported anomaly that could be traced to the alternate universe known colloquially as the "Mirror Universe." Barring any further evidence for or against him, Albus was found innocent of murder and mutiny but demoted back to Ensign, a punishment he accepted.

Sample post:
Having been given her orders, and after throwing Chief Reyes a smile and a nod, T'Vek followed the Chief down to Sickbay, where apparently some sort of procedure would be done on her. She assumed that it would be nothing permanent; it wouldn't be logical for Starfleet to alter their crew for any mission requiring stealth. Reyes' question did bring up an interesting point though. How attached was she to those pointed ears? She was a Vulcan by birth, but certainly not by temperament. She'd heard of the great Vulcans, of course, but they were always mentioned as footnotes by her parents. Never mocked, but never investigated, either. There were always other things to do, training more important to her. Running a pirate fleet was much different than running a starship. More chaotic. More fun, she ruminated. T'Vek didn't like having time to think about things. She liked focus. Tasks. She liked being worked so hard that at the end of the day she had nothing left to give and was ready for sleep.

Reyes excused herself to go to the Senior Staff meeting, so T'Vek stood by alongside the rest of the away team, nodding to each in turn. To Kyan, she asked, "So, boy, where'd you learn your sea shanties?", referring to their previous mission where they'd been turned into mutineers against the Discovery crew.
