Xander Dorset

Character Details

Name: Alexander (Xander) Byron Dorset
Age: 29
Date of Birth: 1 October, 2366
Character Image:
Face Claim: Sam Heughan
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Family: Father: Tristan Dorset, Mother: Charlotte Dorset, Grandmother: Leonora Forsman

Background: When he was younger, Xander always boasted to his friends that he would become a world-renowned doctor. However, a couple years into university it became clear that despite his exceptionally bright mind, he was not fit for medical school. He was lacking in any sort of bedside manner or tact, was oblivious to the emotions and concerns of others, and struggled to maintain an air of professionalism in his work. (He had an unfortunate habit of delivering bad news with an excited smile plastered on his face as long as the person in question was Á¢â,¬Ëœdying of something interesting for once'). With medical school out of the question, Xander switched career paths from practical medicine to microbiology Á¢â,¬"œ because if he wasn't going to be a "people doctor," he was going to be a "PhD doctor," and he'd still be one of the best damn ones around.

And, for what it was worth, he was doing a decent job of accomplishing that goal. After graduating with high honors in his field, he immediately started private research, and, within a year, published his first article. Over the next four years, he published increasingly influential research and expanded the field of microbiology, making a name for himself as he always said he would. It was at that point he caught the attention of Starfleet and was persuaded to join as a science officer. He had originally been stationed at a rather posh lab on a busy starbase Á¢â,¬"œ state of the art equipment, science vessels bringing new material in on an almost weekly basis, everything a nearly obsessive scientist could want Á¢â,¬"œ but he had recently been persuaded (rather grudgingly) to accept a (hopefully temporary) transfer to the [Insert Ship Here] to serve as a much-needed specialist in "all things tiny."

Xander,

A very good application.

I can put you in the Science Department on the Columbus.

Will that work for you?

Please advise,

Kirok

Perfect.

Please report into Malcolm Adeyemi for duty.

Did you take the OTC?
