"=/\= Doctor Brighton to the Bridge. Can I please get a status report on what happened? Are our new visitors friendly? One of them shrieked so loud it knocked a few of the staff down here out cold including Catrin...Everyone is accounted for down here with minimal injuries. I will monitor and let you know of anything major.  =/\="

=^="Warez here Doctor! The aliens are not a direct threat to us, although I suspect they can willfully cause fear in others. If you stay calm and focus or meditate rationally you can over come it."=^=

He waited for the words to sink in.  =^="Doctor? Do you understand?"=^=

Race offered Caleb more information so the scientist in him would have something to focus on.

=^="It would seem the subspace paths of our two ships crossed and met. Consider this a first contact situation, especially since it looks like we are stuck together for the time being."=^=

[Sickbay Exam Room 1]

Caleb was relieved to receive contact from Race. At least someone else was seeing the poor creatures and not just him. No more demon butterflies like the last time. He learned his lesson there.

"=/\= I acknowledge. I will not treat them as hostile. I know about them causing fear. I have first hand experience. If there is anyone knocked out or needs medical assistance please send them down here. That includes our new.... shipmates. I will do my best to treat their injuries as well. =/\=" After he said this a nurse flagged him down. He nodded and ran with her out of the exam room.

[Sickbay]

He quickly ran over to help a few nurses tend to a few more fainted individuals. Once they were lifted onto an empty exam bed, they were immediately scanned to see if their vitals were all good.

"=/\= I think we should send out a message to the other departments as best we can. I don't think we need to have an ask questions later situation. They may be as off guard as us. What do you think? =/\="

Constance Lafayette

{Bridge}

"Greetings Cresh. I am Captain Constance Lafayette of the Starship Athena, representing the United Federation of Planets." She said very formally and Cresh looked at her, with one head, with a wary expression on his face.

"We do not know of this United Federation of Planets... only the Helmickk Confederacy, the Yuddik Caliphate, the No Sphere, the Union of Fourteen, and the Silgmack Alliance operate in this sector." The creature said confusedly.

Constance had a briefing report of all the major factions of the Gamma Quadrant before they had entered and none of those names sounded familiar.

Just then Caleb's message reached her and she was glad Mr. Warez replied.

"Negative Mr. Warez. Our crew can comport themselves under pressure. There is no need for medical means." She advised.

"And, I think, if what Mr. Warez is saying is true, that we exist at different speeds or frequencies... effectively making us creatures from a different dimensions to you." She explained and Cresh nodded slowly with one head, the other keeping watch.

"We have theorized of such things... Capt-tan." Cresh said calming himself. He then crossed his arms casually and two spots glowed where he touched. Constance stiffened for a moment but then he simply warbled and removed them.

"Sorry Capt-tan. I was simply letting the others know what has transpired." Cresh explained.

Elsewhere on the ship the aliens paused for a moment and, though still distressed, calmed noticeably. Several others crossed their arms and began to communicate like a Federation officer might in a similar situation.

"While your method of arrival was... unorthodox... as the High Speaker, I will be the first to welcome you to Sanctuary 4. It is, what you called, a stable warp bubble that we live in. We must keep it moving though space or the warp fish may have chance to destroy us." Cresh said.

The main view screen began to account for the dimensional jump and started to display the exterior of their surroundings.

The Athena was within a transparent donut, partially intersecting with the roof of a tall building. The bonus was about half the size of Earth's moon contained and contained within a transparent warp bubble.

Bridge - Security

Katheryn's focus had shifted back to the aliens when the Universal Translator kicked in and listened to what they had to say and began to understand what had happened. Her instinct had taken over when they first appeared and as the Captain walked down and instructed her to lower her weapon and to then have the Security teams gently collect their guests, she did so immediately glad she hadn't actually raised it. " Yes Captain I'll inform them now " she replied turning her attention to her console as she contacted all available Security teams. As she waited for a response she continued to observe their guests as they spoke more about the warp bubble until she gazed in awe, fascinated by what she saw in the viewscreen and it was definitely not what she had expected when she had come to the Bridge.

Finally after a few minutes the response came in from the five on duty teams " All available Security teams have been dispatched and will take our guests to a secure and safe area Captain "  she said not wanting to say the Brig out loud so as not to cause any issues with the High speaker and the others.

Mahak was about to impart his knowledge when the situation calmed decidedly, if it could said to be calm at all. He resolved to keep it to himself, for now. At least while their guests were around. Though the strange beings did not appear hostile, that did not mean that the information he had gathered on them should be openly shared.

Speaking of information, the Vulcan resolved to gather more of just that. A sensor sweep quickly made him realize that communications and instruments would not penetrate the...donut they were in.

Resolving to keep the realizations quiet, he quickly tapped out a text only message to the captain, transmitted via console:

Quote

CAP Lafayette, aliens have a single consciousness despite two heads. Sensors and comms cannot penetrate the phenomenon.

After he had delivered the message his face and form gave nothing up. Mahak was as still as a statue and waited for an order.

=/\= "Thank you Ms. Morgaine. We are working to fix the issue. We will send someone down to collect our guests shortly. And, please, be polite to them."  =/\=

[Mess Hall]
Ash nodded to herself as the Captain's message came through, but didn't bother responding. From the sound of things, she'd wager they had enough to deal with on the bridge right now anyway. Looking back to the alien in front of her, Ash slowly extended her open hands in a nonthreatening gesture as she tried to calm it down. "Shush... Shush. It's okay. Nobody's going to hurt you. You're not going to die."

Ash offered a friendly smile as she sat back on her heels near the alien where it had fallen to the ground earlier. "My name's Ashlynn Morgaine. I'm in charge of the mess hall - this room - on our ship. A cook, sort of. I'm sorry about earlier; I think your arrival scared us almost as much as it scared you guys." As she rambled, she looked around at the now-empty mess hall to illustrate her point. It had cleared out pretty quickly in the mass panic following the aliens' arrival. Now Ash was the only person left aside from a couple other aliens who were starting to settle down around the edges of the room.It was then that Ash had an idea.

Despite her earlier reservations against doing so, Ash tapped her comm badge and opened a link to interrupt the Captain once more. =/\="Ash to Captain again. I'd like to offer the mess hall up as a place for our guests to gather. There's plenty of room here, it's relatively comfortable, and - as it happens - all of our tables are free at the moment."=/\=

Ash pushed herself to her feet and offered a hand to the alien who was on the floor still, looking up at her with both heads. "Can I get you anything? Any of you, really. Something to eat? Or drink? I can clean off some tables and bring you all something..." Internally, Ash wasn't as calm as she would like to be, but she was doing her best to be polite and helpful - and the best way she knew to do that was by doing her job.

Leo sat a bit dumbfounded as these new aliens appeared. He had to cover his ears until the UT took over.

"Ah, molto bene," he said to himself softly.

He kept the controls in check while keeping an ear out for any further instructions.

He whistled at the sight. It was quite a lovely one.

D'Vid

[Engineer]

As things calmed down with the visitors. D'Vid came about. His eyes opened slowly to see a Ensign kneeling next to him. "Sir are you all right?" He asked.

"Yes," D'Vid replied. He felt his stomach was going to give him a time to throw up. Pushing himself back on his feet. The room felt wobbly to him. Things was unbalance. He did not feel he was warm from a fever. He knew what was wrong. Something was in space with something. He was sensitive to folds of dimensions and time.

The two headed alien was released from the Grog the Klingon. He nodded his head to it. The two headed alien stepped away from the Klingon. It was feeling its self to see it was fine. It had made the movement to communicate to it's leader reporting he was attacked, possible minor injury but it was possible due a reaction to an intrusion on their ship as they are in theirs.

The crew was looking at him wondering what it was doing. Grog had not taken any action because he had seen the other aliens make the same gesture as thing went to normal.

Every one went back to their stations. The view of the forward section of the ship was to be seen as  they viewed the mass view of the bubble.

"Beautiful," D'Vid replied.

D'Vid turned to the ensign had helped him. "Ensign what is your name?"

"Peterson, sir," he replied.

"First thank you for coming to my aid. Second, can you tell me what is known about what had happened."

The Ensign explained the El-Aurian what occurred. "So. We crashed into a dimension bubble like a sub space.... interesting," he shared.

"You know if they say a frequeny, is it possible we can break it with a higher pitch? By using the nacelle engines to increase the bubble and possible we can use the deflector shield be the needle to bust the bubble...what you all think of that?" He asked his fellow higher rank officers.

Catrin Maddux

[Sickbay]

Cat woke up with a jolt, the momentum had her roll out of the biobed and land on the floor with a sharp thud. She gingerly stood and straightened her uniform, intent to apologize to Caleb. To her surprise, as she looked around the entire sick bay was empty and silent as a grave. Even the the steady beeping of the various monitors was absent.

"Hello, is there anyone there?" She called out, but she only sensed faint life signs. It seemed for all intents and purposes, she was alone. But how was that possible? There were over 160 people on board. Where did they all go? She had to know. Above all though, she wanted Leo.

[Corridors -> Bridge]

Cat decided to head straight to the bridge. She knew Leo would have been at the helm during the test. The deserted hallways and lift were like a ghost town. Even the air felt heavy and eerie. She almost thought she saw shadows move out of the corner of her eye. Maybe the strange aliens had done something to the crew? Her heart pounded in her throat and she hurried faster to Leo.

Warp fish. Why is nothing capable of surprising me anymore? James wonder a moment taking a step back. Once he hear the other Carter speak up he let out a slight sigh and walked over to her bringing his voice down to a whisper so that only she could hear. "They are guests and appear friendly. I know you MEANT brig, but they shouldn't be taken there. Secure another area of the ship, for instance the observation deck and take them there. We can not under any circumstances give off any even slight illusion of hostility. If you understand I just want you to nod. Don't speak." James had slowly started to get good at being authoritative. It wasn't his first nature, but he certainly had grown into it. This moment was no different, his voice was calm and friendly but also commanding.

Caleb Brighton

[Sickbay]

While Caleb waited for a response from the Bridge for any further instructions, he decided to run and help the nurses in sick bay. He was busy checking on patients, but in the back of his mind he wasn't still worried about Catrin. That scream still played in his head. It seemed to have a lasting effect and despite the fear he now suddenly felt, he decided to push against it. People were either hurt, disoriented, or both and this was no time for him to follow those fearful emotions. He trained himself to know which fear to follow and which to ignore.

Once Caleb got a handle of the injury situation, he ran over to Catrin. He asked the nurse if there were any anolomies. She shook her head, but a quick check of his PADD, said otherwise. "I want her on constant observation. Her brainwaves seem to be registering lower than normal. That scream must have did a number on her. If I am not nearby here I want a constant watch ok? She's not just my boss, but one of my best friends," Caleb said. He sighed a bit. Her readings were still brand new on his PADD from earlier in the day. He wanted to read them, but his head said otherwise. He was battling his doctorly duties and friend duties. Maybe the readings would help him diagnose what was going on, but he had hoped she would wake up soon and they would just go over the readings later.

Warez caught the commander's eye as he turned to return to his station. The CSO strongly agreed with the XO. Of course the aliens MIGHT be a problem, given the appropriate background, but right now they were guests; fellow captives inside a double warp bubble. How any of them would escape was a puzzle. However they seemed no danger at the moment.

"=/\= I acknowledge I will get them there as timely as I can. Have to help them out of their hiding places =/\="

Caleb spent the better part of twenty minutes looking for every one of the Athena's new guests in the sick bay to make sure they were all accounted for and ready to meet up. He told one of the nurses to keep an eye on Catrin while he was helping move the guests to their designated area. Once they were all accounted for he started he was going to lead them to the meeting area.

"Well now I feel like a glorified herder... Makes me wish I was riding a horse or on some wide open ranges... hopefully I can get some time to draw them or ask them questions..." Caleb thought as he made his way to the designated meeting point with his new guests in tow.

D'Vid

[Engineering]

D'Vid was holding his thoughts away from feeling ill cause of change of space around them. He was feeling light headed but he was focusing on the matter they had in their hands.

D'Vid had wanted to do more. He had wanted to speak to the Bridge about his theory but he had to run through the chain of command. It was the respect way, he had not wanted to go over their heads.

"Sirs can I volunteer to help with this prooblem? I have some remarkable theories what we can do but I need permission to be involved sirs," he asked. The El-Aurian had to be careful on what he would share.  Not to raise suspicion about his knowledge from the future.

So he had turned to the second highest member in the Engineering, that human male had allowed D'Vid explain what he would know and he will pass it on.

D'Vid had held his hands up chest level. "Right. We are like stuck in a warp. My idea of using a stronger frequency and a higher pictch could bust us out. We use the nacelle engines as the boost and the defector shield be out needle. However, my theory could be possible wrong. It's a start. Cause the lining of the two dimension can be blown out sync or not. This is where I would like to get the scientist involved because my calculations could be off. And they got the brains to run their own series of calculations," he felt very confident with his knowledge and suggestions. In a way, he had felt he was a person who was being under paid for what he knows.

The aliens allowed themselves to be corralled and gathered in the mess hall.

{Bridge}

"Sanctuary 4 is open to your people while your people make the repairs to your ship. Let us know if we can, in any way, help you."

Constance nodded, "I'd be honored to talk with you High Speaker Cresh."

A small message was sent to Mahak, though the Captain never touched the command console.

Quote

Understood. Get all biological information you can.

=/\= "Mr. Mahak, Mr. Scott, Ms. Morgaine, Ms. Carter, Ms. Maddux, Dr. Brighton, and Mr. Warez- please meet me in the transporter room on the double. We will be examining this culture. Please take anyone you deem fit." =/\= She said as she stood up and lead Cresh to the turbolift.

"Mr. Cater- you have the bridge. Please see to the repairs." She said, locking eyes with him and giving his a telling look, darting her eyes down to indicate for him to look at his console.

Then, as a private message, James received the following text on his console (again, despite Constance not typing anything).

Quote

This is a new civilization James. I want to make the most of this first contact situation but I'm also a bit wary. Keep a lock on the away team and standby with a security detachment in case things go sideways.

Inside she was a ball of nerves but, externally, she presented the calm and cordial host she must be. This was beyond weird, but she was a Captain damn it and she'd keep herself composed.

"Now, High Speaker, come with me. I want to see your culture and discuss matters of friendship." She offered diplomatically. She spoke plainly- no need to strain the universal language matrices even on an advanced ship like their Intrepid Refit.

[Transporter Room]
The Captain and Cresh arrived shortly after, waiting for the requested crew members to join them.
