[Conference Room]

Revek tensed at the mention of his sister. "She's a non-issue," he said and left it at that. It had been a while but the wound was still raw.

Moving on, the Cardassian continued, "As for this 'war of sorts' you've started, there is no 'of sorts.' Lines are being drawn and that's part of why I'm here. You're not alone in your stance. Some are with you, others," he motioned towards the display, "aren't." Revek paused to formulate his first question. "Why did you start this Kirok? Why did you involve this crew?"

[Conference Room]

Kirok offered a nod.  It was obvious that Revek did not wish to talk about his sister.  So the half Vulcan knew to leave the topic alone.

"You ask the most pointed questions.  As I have come to expect.  But the only response I have to offer is that it is the right thing to do and no one else seemed willing or able to do it" Kirok said as he motioned toward a chair so they could sit.

"About 5 months ago, the Athena came across a ship who claimed that Section 31 had manipulated the Cardassians and the Bajorans into war.  All so that the Federation would gain control over the wormhole leading to the Gamma quadrant - making some people very rich in the process.  When i set off to investigate those claims my XO at the time tried to stop me" the half Vulcan explained.

"When we got to Tarna, they destroyed my ship.  When I met with the Bejorans after that, they attack the planet.  Those things made me even more determined to get to the truth and expose those involved" he said.

"Perhaps my pride has got in the way.  It is the one emotion I have never been able to fully suppress" Kirok admitted to his old friend.  "But as to your second question, this ship is the biggest I could find in the fleet.  And it has the best chances of helping me defeat Sloan and those who stand with him" he added.

"No."  It irked Ser to be silent with a finger.  But they were all under a lot of pressure at the moment so he let it slide.

"I assumed we're use the runabouts for the evacuation. I thought we should attach a fighter squadron, as an escort.  I case of attack in route to starbase.  And second, to assign a special passcode to the pilots.  For identification purposes, case of enemy infiltration."  Ser said

James nooded at Ser and replied "Agreed, that's a good idea. I'll leave you in charge of that process, use your best judgement. I was also going to ask you to go to the CIC and start looking at possible destinations for the Evacuation, I will leave the details up to your discretion of the best location...and thanks and welcome on board"  James said in a low tone.  He was focused on the multiple issues including keeping the destination secret.

He took a second and walked over to Kimball

"Yeah, it's a little funny, Dude...I wonder who came up with that"  As James finished he did the shaka back at Kimball.   "I think of it has multiple meanings, DUDE, it can also represent our friendship and unitly that takes to succeed, when you think about it it's deep and light at the same time"

[Bridge]

EQ wasn't one to look for deep meaning in anything.  But to each his own, so he shrugged.  "Either way, It's hella funny.  Sorry Sir, no disrespect.  But Dude" he replied with a big grin on his face while he nodded his head like like he was listing to hard rock music.

Sevoc had been busy working on getting the long range sensors back online. It had been tedious. The damage had been quite extensive, but he was making progress.

"Ma'am, I have made some progress," Sevoc began, "however, we only have accurate readings one parsec out."

It was roughly the same distance the original Constitution-class Enterprise had. It was more than they had after the attack, but certainly well short of modern standards.

[Science Lab]

T'Ra nodded, pleased with the lieutenant's progress. A parsec was still well under the range of their sensors when at maximum efficiency, but nevertheless, it was a marked improvement. "Excellent work, Mr. Sevoc," she replied, approaching one of the consoles.

She watched the data stream in for a moment, letting the insignificant facts and figures wash over troubled thoughts. "It seems we are still to be plagued by Sloan," T'Ra added, furrowing her brows, "potentially facing another attack facilitated by him. I should convey to you that the admiral would permit all those who desire one, a transfer. Barring that, we should expect a possible evacuation."

Sevoc listened to his superior. While the thought had crossed his mind, he knew he would be of better service on the Shran. The hybrid was looking forward to continuing his work here.

"I am perfectly content staying on board," he replied. "It is not within me to back down when a problem arises. I wish to see this man brought to justice for his crimes."

Sevoc's demeanor changed slightly at the end of his statement. His face showed a steel resolve of one who had been wounded and needed to bring about justice.

Ardyn Jaeger

[Bridge]

Going outside, Ardyn meandered her way around the hallway to the bridge. This period of quiet was rather disconcerting to her, as she couldn't seem to shake that feeling of being watched. The ship's bridge was for all intents and purposes, empty, except for a couple operations crewmen who were congregating in the back of the room. Sitting at the newly-repaired helm, she began tapping in the coordinates for wherever they were going into the computers, then locked them from view. And now we wait. She thought as she prepped for her shift.

Revek remained silent for a moment after Kirok's explanation. Always the idealist. The Vulcan wasn't wrong, Revek just would have gone about this in a different way. But who am I to judge, he thought, thinking off all the times his way had ended rather poorly. "At the very least I can sympathize with pride getting in the way." The Cardassian sat now and said, "Well I was with you when this all started, else I wouldn't be here... at least not like this. I'm sorry I couldn't get here sooner but things needed to be attended to before I could come."

Drumming his fingers slowly on the table, a habit he had picked up during his years away from the fleet proper, Revek wondered aloud, "Have you called anyone else in? No, I suppose not or they would be here. Unless they're with the prisoner. Still, that isn't pertinent right now." The Security Chief shook himself slightly before continuing in earnest. "This crew isn't used to me, you know. There will be growing pains, Sir. Harsh ones." The Cardassian gave a rare grin. "I would like to start the learning process with my own department as soon as possible. If Eve isn't otherwise occupied, I could use her assistance."

Ariste Stark

[Turbolift]

Ariste had slipped out quietly, while everyone was occupied either getting to their posts, or chatting on the bridge. She wouldn't liked to take a shift on the bridge, but right now she was tasked with fixing things. Which wasn't much of a surprise, considering, but she was so tired of fixing all the replicators, she could probably do it in her sleep.

"Deck 29." She recited, going to get some tools, as well as bring some other Engineers with her to help with maintenance.

[Main Engineering]

Stepping out, she almost immediately went for her tool box. Flipping it open, she made sure all the necessary tools were in it, before closing it and tucking it under her arm. "Crewman Akar!" She called out to the Andorian standing at the table. " 'r you busy?" She commented.
"Not really, just looking for any fault in the ship's system. Why?" The woman dusted off her hands, setting stepping away from the panel.
"Up in sickbay, one of the computers is broken, need to put that above all others, priority-wise. I'd like you to come help me with it." As the Crewman nodded and went to retrieve her own toolbox, Ariste stepped into the Turbolift to wait for her. When Akar stepped in, she gave the command, and they were moving up towards Sickbay.

[Sickbay]

Stepping out, Ariste gave the room a sweep, wondering who was currently on Duty. She would have to ask them which computers weren't working properly.

[Deck 31]

Lt(jg) Reede stood back to check once again her list of Á¢â,¬Ëœthings to do' before her shift ended. The crushed torpedo tubes were repaired, the only hull breach... no, just a Á¢â,¬Ëœdent'... was fixed and the weapons inventory was being completed.

"Bil, do you have that list of phasers?"

Crewman Lions looked down from his height of just over six feet and nodded. "Right here, lieutenant." He handed her a padd. His smile was forced. LK wondered if he would ever get the knack of smiling. Probably not. Human he was, but he was raised with Klingons.

Reading over the inventory of phasers, both hand and rifle, a light blinked. LK stared at the padd intently. Something else to fix, she thought.

The blink came again then a message appeared.

Your Admiral is not what he appears.

Frowning, she watched as the message faded. Tapping buttons as quickly as possible, she wasn't able to bring the message back. Looking at Lions who was staring at his own padd, LK asked softly, "How's the inventory coming?"

Afraid she was going to get the answer she expected, namely that he's seen the message too, she held her breath.  It just seemed reasonable that someone in security would get a message like that, but why a lieutenant junior grade? Why her?

"Nothing seems to be missing, sir. Where you expecting something?" His voice was gravely (like a Klingon's).

"No, not really. Just that the unauthorized saucer separation and the evacuation orders have me wondering, is all."

LK stepped away far enough to assure a little privacy.

She tapped her comm badge and said, =/\= "Reede to Tre'el. When you have time, there's something I'd like to discuss with you." =/\=

Just what that something was, she wasn't quite sure. But she needed to inform her chief what she'd just seen. Maybe he knew something she didn't.

"That is fortunate" Kirok replied.  "And in return for your loyalty, I have been authorized to offer you immunity to any deeds you may have committed while you with Section 31.  But you may need to testify at some point, possibly in the upcoming trial" Kirok said.

"Your newness to the crew is actually an advantage, I believe.  And I trust you to prepare them as needed" Kirok said as he stood.  "You may, of course, consult with Eve.  And I would suggest including Ms. Kane from Flight Control in your meeting.  I believe she has aspiration of possibly transferring to Sec/Tac" the half Vulcan said.

He looked at Miriam and said "Miriam, begin the preparation for the evacuation of civilians and non essential personnel for security, I'll leave the details of the individuals to your discretion."

Miriam looked over at James when she heard her name and then listened to James' orders. "Aye commander." Miriam said, turning to LK to finish her conversation.

Quote from: LK Reede on March 03, 2017, 02:11:47 AM

LK looked up at the mention of her name.

"Hi, Miriam. Chief Lonar was transferred back to SB Columbus. Something about one of his legs not working right. Sounded like a concussion." LK took a breath then added, "Sometimes if the brain is hit just right a limb will become unstable. Seems that's what happened to him."

"If you hear from him, send him my regards. I have work to do so I'll catch you later." Miriam smiled and gave a simple nod to LK and then went over to the OPS console to prepare all civilians and non-essential personnel for departure. She opened a ship wide channel and then raised her voice slightly, to ensure everyone could hear her. =^="Bridge to all personnel of the USS Shran, if you are a civilian or any form of non-essential personnel, report to cargo bay 3 for evacuation in the next 30 minutes."=^=

Miriam walked over to the second console and then pulled the list of operations officers onto a PADD, she took the top 10 junior officers on the list, seperated their names and selected them to do evacuate everyone. She also left a list of tasks to do on the PADD.

Ensigns,

The duties listed on these PADDs are very important. The jobs must be completed and every task should be done with maximum effort. If this goes wrong, we may be delayed for departure and we cannot afford to be delayed.

The tasks set are listed below:

1. Report to cargo bay 3, with a PADD containing a list of all civilians and non-essential personnel aboard and create several lists with names on in alphabetical order. If there are children with their parents, allow them to get their child's name signed off too. - I will meet you all in the cargo bay and will be overseeing the departure.

2. Make sure every name has been signed, if a name isn't signed, send crewmen looking for the people who are absent, once they are found, have them report to cargo bay 3 and get their name signed.

3. Once every name has been signed, begin to have people boarded onto shuttles for departure. See to it that families are kept together and make sure everything is done safely. If safety isn't taken into account people may get injured and you will be answering for it.

4. As soon as all shuttles are full, I will call them to depart. If there isn't enough space for everyone, we shall run the shuttles  again and repeat this until there is no one left on the ship.

5. When all people have been departed, let me know and I will contact the commanding officer to ensure all personnel get somewhere to stay.

I will meet you down there and help you get this done. As I said earlier, I expect maximum effort and minimal mistakes.

LT(JG) Miriam HÁƒ¤llstrom

After she had finished composing the message, she had a copy sent to each of the 10 ensigns and then she made two seperate copies on PADDs, she walked over to the XO and stopped opposite him. She nodded at the two men who he seemed to be having separate conversations with simultaneously. "Commander." Miriam passed over one of the 2 PADDs and then continued. "Here's a copy of the evacuation orders, I'm going to organise temporary accommodation for everyone being evacuated, I imagine a cargo bay or something similar would suffice for a few days. I'm having everyone report to cargo bay 3, if there's too many people, I'll take up another bay however I don't think we'll need to. everyone should be off the ship in the next couple of hours." She paused for a moment, thinking of anything else she might need to mention. "Is there anything else you need from me before I oversee this all?" She finished.

T'Ra was not at all surprised by Sevoc's response, which was at once logical but also true to his character. Though the Andorian traits were still fairly new to her, she was coming to know her fellow Vulcan hybrid. His efficiency and resolve never would have let him go, but she would have been failing in her duties if she had not made him, or the rest of the department, aware of all the options available to them.

"Good," she replied, keeping her voice level so as not to betray just how badly she shared this desire. "It would be quite a loss," she added, "to be down a fine science officer." Sevoc had already proved himself quite capable, and she was glad to have him on board.

He paused for a bit before continuing.

[Security and Tactical Office]

Walking into his office, the Cardassian suppressed a grimace. He hated the layout of the room as it was, in his opinion, organized far too much like a proper office rather than a work space. Not for the first time did he miss the armory workbench he had found himself at during his first shift in the fleet. The burdens of leadership, he thought as he seated himself behind the desk and awaited the crewmen he had called.

T'Ra hesitated a moment, not quite sure how to reply. It wasn't so much his words that troubled her as the space between them. The unspoken anguish, all the things left unsaid. "Regret is illogical," she began at last, hoping to appeal to his sense of Vulcan reasoning. "You had no control over the situation or the lingering effects of the illness you experienced. Blaming yourself does not change what happened, nor is it true. Atone for it, if you wish, but do not blame yourself for it. Sloan must bear that burden, not you."

She paused, giving him time to let that sink in, but also to allow herself another moment to gather her thoughts. But T'Ra found she could not continue without giving over to the despair that she felt. So instead she shifted her focus, as Sevoc had, to incoming data scrolling across her console's screen. "Perhaps we will have the opportunity to observe some interesting quasar or nebula en route to wherever it is we're going."
