Post of the Month - November 2016

Fleeters,

November has been an interesting month.

Most of us celebrated Thanksgiving this past weekend and it helped to remind me just how thankful I am to have this site and you people to role play with!

Beyond that, we saw the Athena crew intercept a meteor that might have destroyed the Earth and we saw the Tempest crew battle a future timeline Tempest crew.

In addition, we saw the Discovery crew form a new command team and the Columbus crew battle a disease that turned half them into zombies.

In fact, it is from the Columbus crew that we found our post of the month this time. It was written by Jamie McConnell. And here it is:

Jamie sighed as Zex confirmed what she thought, Howell had disappeared without notification. Yet again, the man was the second officer and really did not have to notify anyone, it would have been nice though. "Ah hell in a handbasket." She cursed and ran a hand through her hair. Her eyes studied the tall crewman as he acknowledged the Deltan's comment.

"I am sure you've missed me." His deep voice resonated through the room, above even the computer warnings and distant screams and cries. "Who else would keep you on your toes?"

Jamie would have laughed at their flirtation if they weren't knee deep in virus. "Okay you two," she began as she motioned for Benitez to move closer, ".. since you can't seem to get enough of each other, I want you to escort Dr. Zex to the environmental controls so she can gas the station. It is imperative that she makes it, crewman, the whole station is counting on it." Her eyes moved back to Zex, "You have your orders, doctor, don't fail, you just can't."

Jamie nodded at the healed science officer and addressed him by his name, "Sevoc, you and me will start projecting ourselves into the telepathic infected. We'll take the rest of the security team with us...any questions?" Just as she asked this the very, very tall security chief entered carrying what looked like a very infected man. Fortunately, everyone had just received their vaccinations.

She sighed and quickly got to business with a medical tricorder, "I hope the man's injuries are not your handy work." The man was more than infected he was pretty beat up to boot. "Get the chief all the vaccines quickly." She ordered before turning to Zex and Marco, "You two get to that environmental control, I got things covered here."

Actually, she couldn't have asked for better help than the security chief himself. Still, that could wait, for now she had a very sick man to help. Jamie put down the medical tricorder and gently placed her hands in the man's face. She dove into his mind and proceeded to cure him...

To me, this post is the perfect mix of comic relief and canon medical knowledge. Just like you would find on one of the TV shows or movies. Please help me congratulate Jamie!
