Ship Layout (Images)
« on: May 24, 2016, 08:03:01 pm »

Overview: Exterior (Intrepid Class)

Bridge

The sleek bridge of the Athena is designed in the fashion of other smaller ships. In the "pit" in the front are the ops and flight control stations. Behind them sits the Captain (or XO occasionally). Clockwise, beginning directly behind the Captain's chair there is a science stations (not displayed with a chair in the image, but they have one), the tactical station, the entrance to the ready room, a secondary ops station (we will use this for mission specific seating), the main viewer (directly in front of the Captain and the pit), the engineering/technical station, and finally (directly to the right of the Captain's chair) is the XO's station.

Captain's Ready Room

Captain Lafayette keeps her ready room spartan and simple. It is attached to the bridge.

Department Head and XO Offices

The XO, Chief of Ops, and Chief Tactical Officer officers have offices like this for their personal or departmental use.

Main Engineering

This doubles as the Chief Engineer's Office.

Astrometics

The chief flight officer also uses this as their office.

Brig

As we as a exploration/science ship, this is largely used for disciplinary measures.

Conference Room

Where briefings and meetings of the senior staff are called. Occasionally this serves as the Captain's Mess.

Sickbay

This also serves as the Chief Medical Officer's office (see center).

Mess Hall

The mess hall doubles as the entertainment and relaxation venue on the ship. Many crew members spend their personal time here.

Senior Officers Quarters

There is a large degree of variation in terms of quarter layout and style depending on the officer's tastes. Constance, for example, keeps her room very neat, functional, and devoid of all but the most basic creature comforts or personal effects. Others chose to bring artifacts, mementos of home, pictures of family members, etc. This larger layout is typically used for Lt. Commanders or Department Heads or above.

Jr. Officer Quarter

These private quarters are typically reserved for Jr.officers (Ensign-LT) on the Athena. They vary in terms of size, style, and layout, but all have a personal touch.

Enlisted Quarters

The quarters for enlisted officers (and a few unlucky ensigns) are often shared rooms with limited space.

Transporter Room

The transporter is managed by the Ops team, though occasionally the engineering team will utilize it as well.

Science Lab

The science lab is where research is conducted, experiments undertaken, and the Chief Science Officer has their office.

Shuttle Bay

All shuttles launch from here and a flight crew is always stationed in case of emergency.

Cargo Bay

Managed by Ops, the cargo bay is where all supplies and provisions are stored. The objects here are mostly moved around with site to site transporters.

Please note that a lot of these fantastic images are from Ex Astris Scientia and we wish to thank them for the excellent work and promotion of the fandom as a whole.
