MISSION START: 15th June, 2008

Scott was sitting in his ready room, drinking a ice tea. He was going over the latest reports from starfleet tactical. The rebellion on cardassia had turned into a full scale civil war. Federation ships where to give cardassian space a wide berth.

the Discovery herself had just finished a six week refit. She had taken some serious damage in the battle of safehaven, and she was still recovering. They had finished resupplying a colony, and where heading back to DS Discovery at warp two.

Scott finished his drink and made his way to the bridge. He looked up, seeing his crew working away. The captain was debriefing starfleet on the safehaven incident, and Scott was in command for now.

" Mr Cortez, Mr Brown, report. "

" Mr Cortez, Mr Brown, report. "

*Cortez read the status report from his screen*

"Nothing to report, Commander. All systems normal"

Mitch Harris

*Harris was in engineering. He was getting agitated at having to spend more time around these people. He was just about to access a console when a small ring-shaped device on his arm began to bleep. Checking that nobody was looking, he walked over to the corner of engineering. Pressing the device, he spoke.*

"What are you doing contacting me now?!"  he said angrily

*The voice on the end of the channel was that of the dark figure, who Harris had been in contact with for months.*

"I needed to. It's important. Get to your quarters, immediately."  it replied

*Harris looked around to make doubly sure no-one was looking.*

"I'll be five minutes"

*He pressed his device to close the comm channel. Rolling the sleeve of his uniform down to cover the device, he walked back into the main area of engineering. He spotted Ensign Mendez working away*

"Mendez, you have engineering"

*Without waiting for a reply from the ensign, Harris quickly darted out of engineering to his quarters.*

Shelaf walked onto the Bridge, grinning widely. Taking his station, he looked at the reports from the security teams.

Scott saw shelaf coming on to the bridge. He checked the time and noticed he was late by two minutes.

" Did we start too early for you mr Greegy, perhaps you'd like some more rack time? "

"Sir?" Shelaf asked, turning in the chair.

Scott did not face the young man, he simply looked at a padd and spoke in a firm tone.

" I expect my chief of the boat to arrive on time. Don't be late again. "

He continued reading his padd, it contained the details of his upcoming court marshall. "

Lee Armstrong

lee was busy recalibrating the sensor array. it had taken severe damage from the battle at safehaven and it still wasn't functioning correctly. After a few more tweaks he brought it to full power.

Almost instantly he picked up something on his sensors.

" Commander. I'm picking up a warp signature, bearing 336, mark 259. Six light years out.

It doesn't match anything on our records sir. "

Scott put his padd down. He turned in his chair to face lee.

" Well, I'll be an actual exploring mission. i think we have a couple of days to spare. "

He swiveled around to face the front of the bridge.

" Lieutenant Christopher, change course to intercept. "

Alan had been bored to tears in this latest cargo run, he had spent most of it patching up the shuttles. As eh heard the order he changed the course.

" Aye sir, we are on an intercept course, one hour to arrival. "

Lee watched his screens to keep an eye on the ship, suddenly there was a energy spike, and he noticed the small ship was in trouble.

" Sir! The ships warp drive energy matrix has spiked, she's out of control, it'll tear that ship apart. "

" Alan, increase to warp nine! Lieutenant Brown, take us to yellow alert. Mike, prepare tractor beams and inform sickbay to prepare for casualty's. "

"Aye, sir"

*Cortez quickly sent the appropriate message to sickbay, and then readied the tractor beam as ordered*

"..sickbay has been notified and the tractor beam is standing by"

Mitch Harris

*Harris walked into his quarters and took a seat in front of his desk. Scrambling the communications frequency to be careful it couldn't be traced, he switched on the console*

"What is so important?"  he asked

*The dark figure stepped into the light, illuminating his previously silhouetted shape. He looked human with a slight distinguishing mark on the side of his head, and several ridges on his forehead.*

"We may have found a way for you to come back to us, however, there are...complications"  he said

*Harris looked annoyed with him*

"What sort of complications?!"

"We are setting our plan in motion now, but you may have to stay with them for a while longer"

*Harris was getting impatient*

"How much longer?"   he insisted

"Several more months. The singularity technology is not quite ready, but as soon as it is...we will bring you home"

*Harris grew angry*

"Several months!! I can't bear to be around these...things any longer!!"

*The once darkened figure stared into the screen*

"You are doing a great service to our people, Arkon! Once the singularity technology is ready, you will come home. Until then...for iconia!"

*Harris sat up straight. At least now he had a rough idea of how long he would remain onboard the ship. He muttered back in a somber tone of voice*

"For iconia"

*Harris closed the channel*
