Lee checked his scans once more, there was no change with the mysterious ship.

" Nothing sir, not one measurable change. Suggest we increase speed. We could drop in to around 60 thousand km? "

Scott rubbed his chin, deep in thought. He knew Lee would be eager to study this slip, but that may be a little too much just now.

" Launch a probe just now, if that makes the range we'll close in. "

Lee refrained from sighing, he wanted to get close to this ship, to study it. But the Captain was being cautious, Lee could understand where the Captain was coming from, but he hoped his apprehension didn't cost them the chance to study this ship.

" Aye sir, launching probe. "

With a flick of his wrist, Lee loaded a probe and launched it towards the mysterious vessel. He monitored it closely, as it closed in on the intended target. Little by little, more information became available about the new ship.

" Probe closing sir, getting some data in now. "

Within moments the probe stopped sending data. Lee searched its last records, and found that it had been shut down around the 30 thousand Km mark.

" Look's like we've found the personal zone sir. The probe just got knocked out. i'm not even sure she's still intact. "

" Helm, take us closer. 50 thousand km. We'll keep a buffer between us. Is there any way we can get a probe in closer? Is there anything in the vulcan database that we can use? "

Lee was still looking through the database, the computer having found a few pieces of informations that matched the ships transmissions. Nothing solid, but it was possibly worth a shot.

" There's some fragments of data in here, a ancient language that resembles what some of the transmissions. I could rig a probe to transmit it. That may allow it to pass if the ship recognises it as friendly. "

" Do it. I want to find a way to get aboard. "

"Aye captain," Klein gave the formal reply, "closing in another 50k klicks."

Klein accelerated the ship appropriately to close the gap between it and the unknown vessel the said distance. They really were treating this thing with kid gloves. By all accounts it didn't notice Discovery or just didn't care. He had scanned over the mission briefing files while everyone else was working on a way to figure this thing out. The captain was already talking about a way to board this thing. Given the way the last away mission he was on ended(nearly in his death), he wasn't so sure he should be eager for the prospect, but it would be intriguing to see how this thing worked.

Kyle Briggs

Unaware of exactly what had been happening, Kyle had found himself summoned to the last place he expected. The Bridge. The turbolift doors parted and he made his way over to the senior officers.

"Engineer Crewman Briggs reporting, sir." he said.

" Do it. I want to find a way to get aboard. "

Lee took a few moments to adjust the probe. While he was doing so he let his mind wander, wondering what the ship could contain.

" Launching probe sir. "

The probe was launched, creeping toward its target. On Lee's screen, it showed the line of where the previous probe was destroyed. He waited with baited breath as it approached the line. It passed, with no ill effect. It made it all the way until it was metres away from the hull.

" Sir! it made it through "

Kyle Briggs

Kyle was handed a PADD and as he read the mission outline and Lt T'Koris' ideas about defense, he discovered that she had been working with Lt Armstrong. But there was nothing there saying what happened to T'Koris. He made a mental note to check on that. He made his way over to the Engineering station and began checking on the work that was being done when he got called away. He was still kind of nervous. This was his first time on the bridge. When he was satisfied that everything from teh Engineering side was being handled, he made his way to Lt Armstrongs side.

"Sir. We have the engines ready to be brought down to the bare minimum that will still allow us to jump back up quickly and some of our engineers are just finishing up with the comm systems in the shuttles. The only thing left is the crew. I have a man heading to sickbay to get with them to see how what can be done." Briggs reported.

"Can we reconfigure the Discovery to emit this transmission?"

" Good work crewman, with Lieutenant T'koris in sickbay we're going to need you up here. Take the engineering station up here, the captain will probably need you. "

Lee then turned to face and answer the captain.

" I don't think so sir. We've got our comm system offline to protect the crew and the ship from the signal. Even if it was online we would still be transmitting with our Starfleet transponder. The ship might detect it. "

Scott was now stood leaning across the science console, how could they get closer to that ship?

" What about a shuttle? We could remove the transponder from one of those and send a small team over? "

Scott then tilted his head, facing crewman briggs.

" Crewmen, how long would it take you to remove on of the transponders from our shuttle? "

T'Manda Vallon

Well it was the first time for T'Manda to be a part of a mission and of course she felt like her heart is going to jump out of her chest, or well wherever a half romulan would have a heart. She tracked what was going on, so far T'Mandas curiosity reached its peak since she spend her time in the shuttlebay.
T'Manda wondered if any shuttles would be send out, shaking her head to stop calculating every single thing and rubbing her face to stay focused she wen't back to her post mentally ordering herself to kill the urge for asking questions.

"Tweety bird tawt he taw a what?...Tweety bird tawt he taw a Romulan."

Scott folded his arms.

" Do it crewman. And then when your done prep your things for an away missions. Crewmans Klein and Vallon get down there and assist. "

Scott then turned around to face Shelaf.

" Chief, you and Armstong report down there to. Prep a  E.V.A suits for all away team members. And make sure you throw in one for me. I'd like to stretch my legs. "
