Masters looked to Kirok "at ease" he said while finishing up a couple of things that he had been in the middle of. "I'm leading an away team, I want you on tactical while I am gone. Mr. Salas is on security with orders to patrol the corridors and ensure no unwanted guests board and do anything bad. I'll be available on my combadge if you need me, I have to ready an away team, call me if you need anything" he said, heading for the turbolift. "Conner, if you don't mind, lets meet in transporter room 3 in say fifteen minutes. I'd like to try to limit our number to no more than five if possible, and I would like to take two security with me, let me know if you need more" he said as the doors to the lift closed.

Connor nodded at Masters and turned to Bradley. "Get down to engineering and see how you can assist there. Somebody may need a hand." He ordered, standing up and nodding at Krol. "If you'll excuse me, sir." He said, striding off the bridge before the XO had time to answer. He made is way swiftly to the transporter room, stopping briefly to pick up a small engineering kit.

Arriving before the rest of the team, he took a chair behind the transporter console, idly running a diagnostic on the systems for want of a more interesting task. So far, his impression of the Churchill had not been good. Officers arguing, threatening each other, giving contradictory orders... he shook his head. The only way he could change it is leading by example, he resolved.

T'Ra Jones

The ship went to yellow alert just as T'Ra had grabbed her materials, which included seven mirrors, an old watch, and a pickle jar. She paid little heed to the constant flashing of the dim yellow because they hardly had anything to do with her. They would have cast a pale yellow glow on everything if the other lights weren't so bright. Then Masters called over the comm.

=/Masters to T'ra, could you get me an analysis of what the environment is like in this mine, I need to know how stable it is in case we need to fire weapons or take special precautions, and I need to know if it has breathable atmosphere in it, natural or mechanical\= He called to the science officer.

=/\= Aye, sir. =/\=

T'Ra set her materials down and walked back over to the console. With a couple quick taps, she got it humming and before long it was displaying information. She scrolled through the data on the colony, noting an occasional picture. Then she did some analysis with the sensors.

=/\= Jones to Masters =/\=
Sensors indicate that the colony has a Class D atmosphere, containing many hydrogen compounds and reactive gases. There is no natural breathable atmosphere, but it appears that they have some sort of artificial system set up. It would still be a good idea to bring equipment as a back up.

Masters looked over at the Engineering console, seeing that both Price and Bradley still stood there, then he looked back at the Commander whom had just called them over the ship comm system. Masters tapped his badge from across the room =/Masters to Commander Krol, Aye sir\= He said, going back to his tactical board long enough to finish up what he was working on.

=/Masters to Salas, I'm currently on the Bridge, not sure for how long, report to me as soon as you possibly can. Masters to Kirok, belay my previous order, I need you on the Bridge now\= He called. He would man his post until relief showed up or until they got close to the mine they were to investigate.

Raymundo was on deck 11 outside of Maine Engineering, making its way towards the bow.

Masters heard the mans request over the comm. He had thought of taking Zuriel as he was familiar with the man, but Taras should work well on the team as well. =/Acknowledged Lieutenant, get me the information I need on weapons and atmosphere. I am not sure if T'ra has gotten it yet, but you might check with her. I need to know if we can breath down there and if we can shoot stuff. Masters out\= He told Cadenza from the turbolift. He went to the armory, once there he would get the armaments for the away team.

Masters got to the armory and began pulling equipment. He was sure that the engineers would opt for less bulky suits, so for the time being he only grabbed three combat environmental suits. Him and his two security escorts could wear them. They had there own air supply and were variable for temperature, so they would suit. He got all members a Class II phaser, and armed himself with and grabbed two Class III phasers. It could be over kill, he always hoped heavy weaponry would be over kill, but you never know.

Masters was sure the man didn't mean anything by it, but between it being over the ship comm system and him being in a rush, he called back with a short response =/Masters to Salas, I need for you to follow my order and come meet me, I'll be in transporter room three, grab the environmental suits that I have laid out and the rifles and meet me there. I will give you my orders when you arrive\=

=/Masters to Kirok, get me a scan on the mine when we are in transport range, let me know if there are people or ships around it, Masters out\=

He ended the transmission and went to wait in the Transporter room.

Connor looked up as Masters entered the room. He nodded a greeting. "How do?" He asked pleasantly, having never talked to the man outside of the quick exchange on the bridge. He stood up, leaving the diagnostic running on the console, and extended a hand. "We ready to get suited and booted and get crackin' with this job?" He enquired.

Did you already get environmental suits got yourself and whoever you are taking? I've got combat suits coming got me and my guys, I can get a couple extras if you prefer them."

Raymundo made his way back toward the turbolift, upon entering he ordered it to take him just outside the office. As he listened to the hum of the lift he began turning in his mind the situation  that they may soon find themselves in. He was a new member of the Churchill, having not participated in their escapades, merely reading  the mission logs the Churchill has had a long history withe marauders. Actually making most key notes of her short one year of service.

The turbolift opened and he entered the security office. Grabbing a cart and and hanging  the suits and stowing the rifles, he wheeled the cart down the towards transporter room three.

He looked at one of the security members he'd picked and dismissed him. "Suit up and take a rifle" he said to him then looked to the others in the room. "I have a hand phaser for each of you, me and my security members will have rifles" he told them as he checked his gear and grabbed a tricorder. He put that and the type two phaser in his belt.

"Teras will be going on the away mission with us as well, we can beam down as soon as we have clearance. I want everyone to work on the buddy system. You need to keep sight of your buddy at all time, and stay in communication range of the rest of the team at all times" He told them assigning people buddies. He took Salas as his buddy. He would have taken Price, but as he was the other ranking officer, he thought it would be good for them to be separated in case something happen.

He ended the transmission and went to wait in the Transporter room.

=/Aye, Sir\= Kirok replied and then went about his duties.  Once the Mark IV Carrier Probes where in position around the ship, Kirok activated the tachyon detection grid.  He arched an eyebrow quizzically when the grid told him the same that that was showing on the view screen, no ships in the area cloaked or otherwise.  Having read over Churchill's past missions, he fully expected to find at least one pirate ship in the area laying in wait.  Nonetheless, he moved on to his next task and scanned the mining colony and surrounding area for life signs, as Masters had requested.  Nothing showed there either.  =/Kirok to Masters.  The area is free of any intelligent life forms and any ships, cloaked or otherwise.  Kirok out\= he said after he tapped his com badge.

T'Ra Jones

Now that it appeared that she was on her own once again, T'Ra glanced at the materials she had previously been holding. Cocking her head to one side, and began to wonder if that experiment was actually necessary and came to the conclusion that it was not. So she chucked the stuff to one side. She would deal with it later.

Because they were passing by a ton of asteroids, logically it would be a good idea take a look at one and see exactly what was inside. With the help of one of the other science officers, T'Ra managed  get a particularly small asteroid on board, which from the way the ship seemed to be bouncing off and around the larger asteroids did not seem to be an entirely easy feat. The one she now held was too big to be held in just the palm of one hand but small enough to the point where two hands would suffice. It was oddly shaped, which was not surprising considering it was an asteroid. If T'Ra had to describe it in terms of geometric shapes, she would it looked a bunch of circles and ovals smashed together. There were no straight lines. T'Ra was just setting it down when she was approached by a familiar face.

TMadh

T'Madh emerged stealthy from her shared quarters as she did not want to disturb anyone. As she went into the mess hall to grab something to munch on, she saw someone eating an appetizing buttermilk biscuit. She decided to follow suit and ordered one biscuit and a cup of hot tea. After her meal arrived, she went to an empty table and engulfed her tea and biscuit quickly. She forgot how ravenous she was and ordered another biscuit. When she was finished, she left to the science lab where she saw T'Ra. T'Madh approached her and asked, "What are you working on?"

T'Ra Jones

"Ah, T'Madh," T'Ra remarked as the crewman approached. "It is good to see you again. As to your question, I am examining an asteroid from the area we are currently passing through. It might tell us a bit about the surrounding area. Care to join me?" Some company would be nice at the moment. "And crewman," T'Ra added, "you have some crumbs on your uniform." It looked like T'Madh had eaten something in a rush or very quickly. Whatever it was must have been good because it sure smelled good.

Taras Cadenza

Taras finished the preparations. First away mission. Technically the first time he had left the ship on serious business since that forced incident with the pirates, of which he had to assist Commander Cortez. He had carried out a scan of the planet himself, which seemed to be... rather definitive in their choice of weaponry.

=^="Cadenza to Masters, sir, I've carried out a scan of the planet's atmosphere, not sure if T'ra had carried it out, though I have a feeling she did, but it is a Class D, no breathable atmosphere - it is made of mainly reactive gases and hydrogen compounds. I'd recommend we use phasers at the lowest possible power setting. Preferably not at all of course, as different parts of the atmosphere have different densities. Setting off a chain-reaction is something we really have to avoid here..."=^=

"Suit up and take a rifle"

Raymundo caught the suite, excited to be on his first away mission. He worked his way into the suite, which was giving him some difficulty given that the combat model was more bulky than a standard EVA suite. Extra padding meant to adsorb and dissipate the heat of energy weapons. They were also a darker color than the standard ones. giving them a more intimidating look he thought. also it would help hiding in the shadows if it were called for. Which sent his mind on a tangent about an adaptive mesh he could add to them to change the shading. Maybe even a ability to change some color variation, hmm cameo could very well make a come back but in order to do it he...

His train of thought lost he finished suiting up and unlocked the strongbox that the riffles and hand phasers were in. Garbing a phaser rifle for himself he handed out phasers to the non Security away team members.
