MISSION START: 20th February, 2008

"Yes, sir, the science team is onboard...yes, sir...we should be there within two days...yes, sir, I understand...Kawolsky out"

*Kawolsky closed the communication link with the Admiral. He took a few deep breaths and tapped his comm badge. He was wondering how this conversation would go*

=/\= Kawolsky to Bradley =/\=

"Commander, I need to see you in my quarters. We need to talk. It's...important"

Scott was stood on the bridge, going over a padd a ensign had handed to him. He had been back on duty for a few weeks and the crew was responding well to him. he looked around to see Alan working at the helm.

" You have the bridge alan. "

Scott walked over to the turbolift. He entered and was soon on the deck containing the senior officers quarters. He moved to the captains quarters and rang the door.

Come in

Scott walked into the middle of the room,

" You wanted to see me sir? "

"There's something you should know first..."

*Kawolsky tried to think about how to put this. He knew Bradley had rejected his Vulcan side, and he didn't want to offend him*

"...er...there's someone onboard who you know...her name is T'Les"  he finished

Scotts face went white. T'les was on board? he hadnt seen his big sister since he had left the academy, almost 4 years ago.

" Typical. She's coming on my ship and not even a bit of notice. I dont need this right now. Why couldn't it have been shelley who came aboard. "

Scott sat down on a nearby chair. He buried his head in his hands before breathing heavily.

" You havent seen disfunctional until you've seen our family john. lets just say we dont get along too strongly. Anyway, im here to do my job, not whine about it.

Is there anything you wish me to do for the team while there onboard sir? Where exactly are we headed? "

"We're heading to the Parisee sector. The science team has leads about an Ancient Vulcan dig site. Starfleet wants us to escort them there, let them do their work and report back to Starbase 101. Should be relatively easy assignment...but it will take us a couple of days to get there. Are you sure you can deal with your sister being onboard for that long?"

" Aye sir. I put up with her for eighteen years before i moved to the academy. "

He was about to turn around, but stopped

" A personel request john, can you assign another officer to see to their needs. most of them are vulcan, and they dont particuarly like us half casts who chose to embrace emotion. And i would rather spend as little time with my sister as possible. "

"That's understandable...I'll get Lieutenant Brown to deal with their needs, but you will have to address these problems sooner or later. The way I see it, this is the perfect opportunity. But, it's up to you, Scott"

Scott turned and left the room, he decided to head to his quartes before meeting his sister.

*Kawolsky let out a small laugh as Bradley left the room. The Captain decided to head to Engineering. He hadn't spoken to Lieutenant Commander Conwell in a while and decided to make it a priority. He slipped his uniform jacket on, and headed out the door, towards Engineering. He passed several crew member's on the way there. He greeted them as they passed. A few minutes later, he had entered Engineering. he spotted commander Conwell over by the warp core diagnostic console.*

"So, how's she holding up, Commander?"   he asked

"Right now ok. I wouldn't want to push the engines too hard as the Dithium matrix is straining worse now then ever when we pass warp 5.7." replied Justin turning and facing the Captain.

"Well, do what you can. I want this ship fully operational"

*Kawolsky walked over to the main Engineering console. He pressed a few buttons as he spoke*

"So, how is your Engineering staff? Any young bright sparks, pardon the pun?"

Shelaf arrived in his new quarters. He hung up his phaser rifle on a slot in the corner and clipped a standard phaser to his belt instead. He had been assigned to protect the Vulcan Science team, and was trying to smarten himself up before meeting them.
"vulcans. So obsesed with emotions. In particular blocking them."
He sighed and left his quarters.
