MISSION START: 25th July, 2009

[ICONIAN WAR - DAY 459]

"Captain's Log, stardate 64563.6. The Discovery has arrived at the Gorvon Nebula Cluster, where our orders are to retrieve sensitive computer data from one of the Federation's long-range listening posts. There have been no sightings of Iconian vessels in this region of space, so I am hopeful that all will go according to plan...for once."

Kawolsky was walking down the corridor of deck 7 towards the mess hall. It was 13:00hrs and his stomach was telling him he needed food. He was confident Commander Bradley could handle everything on the bridge and besides, he was looking forward to his BLT sandwich, albeit replicated.

Walking into the mess hall, he noticed it was busy as normal this time of day. Heading over to the replicator, he ordered his sandwhich then went to sit by the window. The view of the dense nebula cluster was too beautiful, in fact it was the prettiest sight he has seen throughout this whole war.

Cortez was at his station on the bridge. He had been tasked with looking for the Federation listening post. The small automated station had small impulse thrusters which fired every 12 hours. It was a built-in defence mechanism making it harder to find by enemy patrols. Unfortunately, it had the same effect on Federation ships, in this case, the Discovery.

"I've set the sensors on a wide-beam scan as we pass through the nebula cluster, commander. We'll be alerted when they pick up the listening post"

Scott sat on the bridge of the Discovery, having very little to do as the trip was a slow, tedious task. The war had slowed down in recent months, no major battles, and only skirmishing between the two sides. A stalemate. Himself and the three other iconians had managed to avoid suspicion, However Alan remained a weak link, and Larson's mysterious 6 month disappearance had not helped the situation.

her marriage to shelaf was in trouble, and allans erratic behaviour threatened to get them all killed.

" Very good. Mike, you have the Bridge. "

Scott stood up and made his way to the turbolift. after making a quick stop at his quarters, he arrived at holodeck 2, in physical training gear. He stepped inside to find Brack sparring against a holographic opponent. The two where boxing fans, and had developed a ritual of sparring together.

" Care for a live opponent? "

Alan Christopher

Alan sat in his quarters, staring out at the nebula. He had his drink in his hand, taking large swigs of the powerful ale. These past few months had taken there tole on him, and he was no longer the fresh faced youth he had been. His eyes where bloodshot, his face gaunt and pale. On the table sat the bottle of ale, and his hand phaser.

Picking up teh weapon, he looked over it, closing his eyes, he had killed so many iconians, in an attempt to aleviate his guilt at being one of them. it had helped at first, but now, it felt like his soul was being torn apart.

Shelaf was stood at a nearby window, looking over at the lovely nebula. He held a drink in his hand and he sipped at it. He saw Kawolsky sit nearby and nodded.

"Sir."

Lee attempted to boost the sensors, however the nebula made it difficult to scan properly, along with the small station thruster defence mechanism. It was grating on lee.

He thumped his station with his fist slightly, trying to contain his anger

" Damn it, you think starfleet would allow us some special way of detecting our own stations! "

Brack had been hitting the punch bag repetitively for the past twenty minutes. He had created the holodeck program to vent his stress and anger at the revelation from several months ago. A 1960s boxing club in Chicago, Illinois was the setting - Brack had recently developed an interest in the sport after talking to Lieutenant Andrews from Starbase 83. Before then he had never heard of the sport, but he was loving being able to release his frustrations in a satisfying way.

Sweat had dripping down his forehead and onto the vest he wore. So much so that there was now a big circle of it on his front and back. But Brack didn't care about that. Alerted by Scott's presence, he grabbed the swinging punch bag, forcing it to come to a stop. He then took a towel from the replicated bench and wiped his forehead, making way for more that would follow.

"You sure that's a wise idea?"  he quipped back at Scott   "I've been practising"

Scott couldnt help but let a dry laugh escape. He grabbed one of the holographic gym insturctors, and had his hands taped up. He had his gloves placed, and tightened. He stepped into the ring, awaiting Brack entering.

" Lucky for you, the past few times, your lucky i've been holding back. "

A Julien stepped into the ring, the bell rang. The two got ready, each taking there stance. Scott had his hands raised in defence.

" So Larsons back. Stupid girl up and left shelaf for all that time. "

he fell to the floor, he had finally found the courage to end it all.....

" So the wars slowed down. Do you think J'dar got through to the iconian council? "

Lee sat on the bridge at his console, trying to scan for the station. His attention was caught by the internal scanners. He checked the readings further.

" Mike, i've picked up a weapons discharge on deck 5. "

Michael Goodwin

Michael sat at the Helms console, merely swinging on his chair. Until these scans were done, he didn't have to move the ship an inch. He swung back to face forward.
"Should I move the ship another sector sir. Are the scans almost complete?" Michael asked.
