[ USS Glyrhond ]
Day 3 - 2 1 2 0 hours...
If there was anything that Calandra despised in the world, being ignored had to be near the top of her list. Years of being made to feel as if she was seen and not heard had caused her to turn her back on the Federation and family the first time. She craned her head back, raising her chin to the ceiling as she stretched out the back of her neck. It was the only thing that she could manage to do that would restrain her from shrieking at the top of her lung. She closed her eyes, inhaled deeply, and as she exhaled her eyes came to rest on the console once more. "This better work," she grumbled under her breath as she scooted back into her seat.
At the sound of a small beeping, Calandra leaned forward to scan her console. The Argus' had taken flight from the second shuttle bay. At least the first part of Kalro's plan had proved to be successful but she remained jaded. There were still two other components to the plan that would prove to be more difficult than the first. Adrenaline began coursing through her body as she elongated her spine to sit up straight at her station. She might have made the mistake of letting Dorei slip through her fingers once, she wouldn't give him the opportunity again, "The Argus is traveling at full impulse. Dorei has yet to engage the warp drive."
The Argus had been laden with traps that were engineered by Kalro with the assistance of Kaz and Garrison. Certain systems would short circuit if he tried circumventing the engineering. The warp drive had been tampered with. Once it was engaged, a signal was set to set off the holo-projector, hidden in plain sight. Regardless, Garrison had access to manually override the projector as a back-up should he manage to get the warp drive back online. She evened her breath as she read out her stations reports to Filitov and Kalro, "The Argus' heading indicates he's piloting the vessel in the direction of Deep Space 9," and she punched in a few keys at lightning speed.
Calandra closed down the screen analyzing the Argus' trajectory and pulled up the the interface of the holo-projector. She monitored its progress, noting that it was now active aboard the ship. "Holo-projector is running and operational," she reported from her console. The constant status reports were useful in keeping track of time in accordance with the steps of Zolarim's plan. The seconds dripped like honey. Her breath was heavy as she monitored the holo-projector's readings. "The low yield photonic charge has detonated. Transport systems are online and operational."
She craned her neck over to the cockpit, diverting her attention towards Filitov who maneuvered the ship just underneath the Argus. "On your mark, Mr. Zolarim," She watched him, hunched over his station, digits dancing across the tactical console. She brought her focus back to her station. After another few tense seconds, "Shield are down! Initiating transport," she replied, furiously typing on her console. In just a few more moments, Dorei would materialize aboard the Glyrhond. And she would be ready.
The counselor stood from her station and positioned herself behind Zolarim and Filitov facing the back of the runabout. Calandra gingerly pulled out the ornate pin that held shards of her canar and let her dark chestnut ringlets fall to her shoulders. With her other hand, she reached towards her second holster where her phaser was tucked. Although the recommended setting was 'stun', she switched it to a medium setting. If she couldn't kill the bastard, she'd at least want him to feel pain for all the chaos he had wrought.
