Beja

USS Katra - Deck 18 - Arboretum

Beja smiled over at Kalem, "Not at all, we don't have to talk if you are not wishing too. I was just looking for a lunch partner, and I thought you might be in need of one as well. Don't tell Mon here," Beja reached over and covered the sehlat cub's ears, "but he tends to eat all of the lunch"

She petted Mon on the head, and made up a plate special for him. Before she glanced back over at Kalem, "I do want you to know of course, that I extend my deepest sympathies for you and your family. I know it is not easy to lose a loved and valued member of your house. I'm sure though that your father is quite proud of who you have become, and that you do your family a great honor with the work here at Katra and in Starfleet."

"If you ever do want to talk, or just need anything, please do not hesitate to call on me," Beja wanted to let Kalem know that he was not alone in his grief and time of sorrow. That it was always better to have someone to lean on in times of trouble and hardship, and she was happy to be that person if he needed.

Kalem Michael

Kalem sat there having finished his plate.

"My father was one of the people who taight me everything that I know about piloting and some of the engineering stuff. He flew the USS Imjin, a steamrunner class ship, and the USS Sarek an old Ambassador class ship. During his time on the sarek he transferred into Engineering. He was the man that knew everything in my book. And my mother helped him learn everything that he needed to know."

The emotions on Kalem's face was showing all the emotions that he was feeling sadness, regret, as well as other common emotions for someone who had lost a family member.

"My father would take out a shuttle from time to time with me and teach me to fly. My mother would take me to engineering when I turned 13 and teach me everything that she knew about Fixing and maintaining ships. He had me learn how to fight hand to hand from a klingon security officer."

Kalem couldn't help himself he had been holding it in for several weeks he finally broke down amd wept.

When Kalem's emotions came out Mon instantly moved over and put his head on the man's lap, and purred softly. The vibrations acting as almost a way for the sehlat to pet the human. Beja reached out and wrapped her hands around Kalem's. She squeezed his hands gently, hugging them with her own.

She knew that it was best to let the emotions run their course, and she sat there with him as long as he needed. Grief was not something that a person could hold back or stop, and it was something that could creep up on a person at any time, day or night. Each person dealt with it differently, but no one should have to deal with it alone. Beja was going to make sure that Kalem would not have to be alone when he dealt with his.

"I want you to know Kalem that I'm sure your father loved you very much, and I'm positive that he was quite proud of the person you have become. But I would love to hear more about him, please tell me more about him," Beja encouraged Kalem to continue talking about his parent. His father might be gone, but he could still live on in Kalem and the memories he had of him.
