With Aleks running back towards his Father, Katheryn watched him, happy to see him full of energy and not having a care in the world, as he focused on Caleb. Elise, on the other hand remained close to her, although did become interested in Sven, Alice 404, 360 and Esme as they spoke about soccer and began to set things up to play it. The XO wasn't overly familiar with the sport, but was certainly learning something new.

Acknowledging Alex's arrival as she thought how nice it was to see the crew coming together like this, teaching each new things and could see the game being a lot of fun.

Although her attention quickly shifted to her husband and son, for a moment as Aleks squealed in delight over his Father, moving him like an air plane, which was cute and adorable to see. When they made it over to the group and Caleb lowered him to the ground, before greeting, Katheryn smiled as Aleks, also became interested in what the others were doing.

" Hello, Cal, it looks like the twins, are fascinated with the soccer ball and what the others are doing".

Alex wondered if he should observe the soccer game that was apparently going on. He knew a little bit about the sport but he wasn’t all too familiar with it. Maybe he could learn more about it when he watched them as they played. Hopefully they wouldn’t mind if he watched they as they played the game. He was hoping that at the end of it he would learn something about it that he didn’t know before. If they needed more people to play then he would gladly volunteer to play. He was going to wait to see what happens.

'Yes, it is, thanks!' Alice 360 answered Esme with a smile. Meanwhile, she'd downloaded the soccer rules and checked off what Esme had told her or adapted, getting herself nice and familiar and knowing what to ask about in future. 'We'll need another goal, won't we? ...How about those two trees there?' she proposed after scanning the local landscape. This being a holodeck, they could have simply inserted a set of soccer goals, but then, they could also add eighteen more players, a full field, and a stadium. If Esme had wanted that, she would have created them. The other goal of this game, however, was adaptation.

With their pendants flashing, 404 and 360 communicated, sharing information, programs, and plans in moments. 'How about 404 and I play goalies? That's more straightforward for us and we can watch you and Sven play and learn as we go?'

[Holo two]

Esme was relieved that her overly simplified version of soccer at least made sense, enough so for Alice 360 to understand. She nodded at the androids question, looking out towards the fielded area.

Those two trees will work great,” she replied. “I’m up for that, how about it Lieutenant Commander? Care to take little ole me on, one on one?” She asked, following her unspoken dare with a grin. He was much bigger than her and she didn’t doubt being tackled by him would land her on her ass, but she was intrigued as to whether or not she could move faster. Plus, it was technically bonding and she did want to bond with him. Having a role model wasn’t something Esme was familiar with, but she couldn’t deny she’d began to idolise Lieutenant Commander Aune shortly after she arrived on the Athena. And yet, she knew so little about him. Perhaps this would be a good beginning, and if she ended up in medical, well… at least it’d be a funny story one day.

Caleb smiled as she safely landed his son. "Oh I bet they are! I can hold Aleks on my shoulder to help him watch and let Elise do the same swapping," As Caleb said this Aleks clawed at his dad's legs. "Alight kiddo you will be going up in just a second," He said laughing.

The doors slid open and Jessica strode into the rural setting, it reminded her of a country home she had once worked a dig at in the South East of England. A smile crossed her face as she thought of those days and then as she saw a figure sat under the tree it grew even wider.

But first she had better dispense with the formalities and she called out to the Commander and waved in her direction "Hello Commander Brighton, Thank you for the invite". She walked over to the tree, flicking her hair back as she walked, enjoying a chance to let it down for a change "Hey Datan, I hope you don't think i'm gonna let you sit on your own" she grinned and gave a slight chuckle as she pushed her knee against his arm.

She was sure he would have spent his entire time in his room at the Academy if she had not been there to make him get out and see things. She was sure she had seen frustration on his face a few times, but despite that they had become friends and he was one of the few male friends she had.

She also noticed someone she did not know enter and gave her a smile in welcome as she watched her walk in.

Datan had sat for only a moment or two in silence, that was before fate intervened and he was presented with the all too familiar voice of his friend Jessica Drake.  Her voice was joined with a knee nudge to his right arm.  His gaze moved away from the aged Earth structure and shifted to his dark blonde haired human friend, his naturally slanted eyebrow raised as Jessica spoke.

"Your presence would seem to indicate that my alone time has come to an end!"  The Vulcan replied in his dry monotone calmness, that was inherent to his species and upbringing.

Jessica was a curious individual indeed, Datan had thought that since their first meeting at the Academy.  Her friend base seemed to mainly comprise of the female gender, there were few of the opposite sex of who could call her their friend.

The Ensign stood up and straightened his attire, he offered his friend a simple nod of appreciation, despite her obscurities he did find her presence agreeable.

"Perhaps we should join?"  He asked with a single nod towards the crew who were playing with a ball.  "Or maybe you would prefer seclusion, owing to our lower rank status?"

Sven grinned, he then kicked the ball straight up, crouched, and sprung a back flip before it hit the ground. "Sure." and he gave the ball a hard boot and sent it wheeling down the field towards the smaller engineer.

Seeing one of the new crewmates stand, Esme’s attention was taken away from her hopes of bonding with Idol Lieutenant Commander Aune, to her internal sub-mission to make new friends. Their shore-leave had reminded her painfully that cutting ties with Sarah had left her with…well, essentially nobody who would mourn her if she disappeared or died. And her personal mission to acquire friends was still in motion, even if she often told herself it wasn’t as it was incredibly pathetic on her part to be 22 with no meaningful relationships.

Just as she was about to call out to the Vulcan, Lieutenant Commander Aune sent the ball back at her with an flair of confidence. She had to backtrack further down their makeshift pitch so that the ball didn’t bounce off her knees and roll away upon impact, and once she had it, she kicked it upwards and caught it in her hands.

Your team needs goal posts,” she called to Aune and Alice 404, and then she made her way over to the new science officers. “Hey,” she greeted. “Want to play some soccer?

With the layout decided, Alice 404 and Alice 360 moved to their respective goals and took up positions as goalies: Alice 360 between one tree and the jersey and behind Esme, and Alice 404 between two trees and behind Sven. Not knowing how to play, the androids began with the basic concept that to stop the ball passing through the area designated as a goal, they needed to provide high coverage of that area. Thus they each stood in the middle with legs apart and arms outstretched above their heads, forming Xs. It was maximum coverage. There they waited to see if it would work. They could do better on later iterations.

" Sounds like a plan to me, my love" Katheryn replied as her husband answered her about the twins wanting to watch the impending and improvised soccer match. Thinking it sweet with how Aleksander then gained his father's attention. Although it seemed as though the twins weren't the only ones interested in what was happening, as Ensign Datan approached and Esme invited both him and Drake to join in.

Again it was good to see the crew interact with one another, especially in welcoming new members to the Athena family. For now, she would continue to spectate, as she then proceeded to pick up and exited Elise.
