[Lounge - 1955]

Leela entered the lounge. It was a rare occasion where she got to be out of uniform. She was wearing a dark purple dress that ran down to her ankles and a slit up to the middle of her left leg, which exposed the spots running down her bare leg. It was dimly lit but was active. There were quite a few people in there, especially for a week night. She stood on the tips of her toes but didn't see Kyle. She lade her was to a table in the corner but didn't sit down, she leaned against the wall and waited.

Kyle hadn't wanted to dress too dressy and make Leela think that he thought it was an actual date but he also didn't want to show up looking like a bum. In the end, knowing the climate was controlled, he'd settled on some dark slacks and a polo.

They had agreed to meet in a holodeck. Kyle wasn't sure if she had chosen it so that no one else would see them or if she had other reasons. He also wasn't aware of the program she was planning to use so when the doors parted and he entered, he was a little surprised to see that it was set in a 1950's era venue. He did a quick look around and then had to search again. For a moment, he wondered if he had arrive before her but then quickly dismissed it as she would have had to have gotten there first in order for the program to be running. He began another slow check of the room and finally caught site of her when a couple in front of her position parted ways. She was so tiny that he hadn't been able to see her over the crowd. He smiled and made his way over to the bar. He order her a Vulcan brandy and a glass of Jameson Irish whiskey for himself. He took the drinks and headed her way. As he was walking, he took in the whole sight of her. The dress she had chosen looked absolutely stunning on her. And the slit up the side that allowed a glimpse of her spots was breath taking.

"Evening." he said as he approached and offered her the drink. "The real stuff." he added.

She smiled warmly nervously and took the drink. "Good evening." With a single movement she moved it up to her lips and took a sip to calm her jitters. With a sigh she sat the drink on the table. "You remembered! It's perfect." She shift and sat down at the table. "I hope this program is okay for you? We can try another if you'd like?" She asked

"This is amazing." Kyle replied as he took a better look around.

He sat his own drink down and took the seat across from her. He had meant what he said about the program. He could tell she had put some thought into it. It was a nice little place that allowed some privacy yet it wasn't overly intimate. They would be able to discuss anything they wanted.

"Do you use it often?" he asked, trying to ease any tension there may be.

Leela sat back in the chair and crossed her legs, her knee poked through the slit in the dress. She had another sip of the Brandy as Kyle asked about her usage of the program. "Actually I've never used it. It was a program Juval was quite fond of. He was far better at this sort of thing than I am so I yield to his expertise." She chuckled nervously but in that moment she realized Kyle may have no clue who Juval was. "He was my last host." She added hastily with a look of slight panic, in fear that she had just dropped a random man's name into the conversation.

Kyle had always been intrigued by the Trill customs.

"How many hosts have you had?" he asked. "If that isn't too personal."

He took another drink as he tried to keep his eyes on hers. The fact that her tiny, spotted leg had bared itself as she crossed her legs had not gone unnoticed by him.

Just drinks. he reminded himself.

Leela sat back and smiled as things actually seemed to be going quite smoothly. "Oh not at all. We're typically pretty open about it with outsiders." She picked up the glass and held it in her hand as she continued. "I am host number eight." She said with a smile. "Y'know, I'm over 400 years old. I hope I'm not to old to be seen with." She chuckled. Although the Trill wouldn't typically see age that way she discovered other species always seemed to get a chuckle out of it. "The symbiont has seen a lot. Hopefully it get's to go on for another 8 lifetimes." She added as she took a sip of the brandy.

Kyle lifted his glass as he listened to Leela's story.

"Well. Here's to the best looking four hundred year old in the Galaxy." he teased before taking a drink. He had met several Trills before but had never really gotten into the semantics of the host/symbiant relationship. He was truely interested now.

"So each new host remembers everything from all the previous hosts? Like say, if one was a doctor, you'd know how to do surgery and such?"
