What he was told that his godparents had accepted the privilege to bring Kal in their family. Character plot for future story line.

Life was rather hard for a human boy growing up with other Klingons. You can imagine during his childhood he was beat up and had to defend himself and become a Klingon Warrior.

He had been accepted by some Klingons, but far from being being one.

The thing he had to do was to keep fighting to be in his parents' clan. That meant he had to never give up. He fought to be who he was as being human too. Which was hard with Klingons around him. He believed in being your own person. Which got himself in trouble plenty times.

When he was at age he had decided to join Starfleet. That was when he became the trouble maker. He knew who he was but they was not accepting that easy. Which caused problems.  He was an excellent fighter. It was even hard to be with other races who did not see the Klingon in him. Which he beat challenge them in a honorable fight or he find they insulted his house to go about a fight.

He was smart and loved learning. It had been from his parents. A young human brought up by Klingons who like to learn. That's what had helped him to stay in school. He was very good learning and did not have to study much.

When he graduated from Starfleet academy he had served in Starfleet. It was not like ten years ago or less when he had gotten beat up by some group cause he was smooth talking to someone's girl. They were not expecting a good fight out of this human which Kal was not going down as they hoped he would. He pulled a Dk'tagh on them which made the fight deadly. Like the same incident Picard did when he was young. They fixed him with this light box for a heart. That would not go well with Klingons. You can say Kal goes back to step on in his life. If he ever going to be able to prove his honor.

Kal was sitting at the Katra's station enjoying his gawk. They had it. That was a pleasant surprise. It was alive too! That was why he was sitting their picking it up with his bare hands and enjoying the slimy raw food in his mouth and down his throat. You can imagine others was disgusted the way he was eating. Like someone tearing up a lobster and eating it. The taste was not the greatest but it was long waiting food.

"œWho you think you are?" a tall Klingon leaned over Kal. "œYou eat gawk. You bear House of Jimrec. Human you are not Klingon!"

Kal paused as he was about to swoop up another handful of Gawk. Kal looked upward not moving an inch. He growled to warn the other Klingon to back off.

Then the Klingon said something like an insult in Klingon at Kal. Kal stood up quick and stood nose to chest to the Klingon. One of the other flaws of being who he was.  The Klingon was much taller than the human male, but he was making his stand. He spoke in Klingon. "œtlhIngan jIH pong childhood. tuq jimrec. wej chaH quvHa'. SoHvaD DISvam ghomDajvaD jISuv!"

"œvaj ghob Human!" the Klingon chuckled at Val.

And then Val swung his hand at the Klingon in a fight. Few swings from both sides. They were having a good fight until Security of Katra stopped them.

"œNo fighting!" The security said. "œStop!"

Val snarled his nose, and spitted at the Klingon. That had the Klingon growled at Val cause they had to stop. "œYou fight like Klingon. You will eat like Klingon. You NEVER be Klingon human," he laughed as he walked away.

That was when fellow crew members who knew Val grabbed him from behind to hold him back. "œLet go. I am KLINGON! I grew up as KLINGON! Let go!" he growled.

"œWe will have to report you!" they warned Val. That was the one thing about Starfleet he was bound to Starfleet. He was loyal to them. He had no choice but sit down and go back to eating his gawk.
