[Discovery - Beta Bridge]

EQ had made it to his station and had logged in.  He was working both the Ops and Sec/Tac stations.  Luckily he had training in both.

As their section of the Discovery dropped out of warp, the Saucer section of the Shran was below them.  And the Borg Cube was directly ahead.  It was massive.

A giant Goliath to their small David like ship.  At least in size.  But Kimball had the sling and the one stone that would take out the giant down.

"Firing phasers at the shield emitter" EQ called out.  He waited a moment.  "Direct hit.  Their shields are down" EQ added.

[Alpha Bridge]

For his central seat, Kirok watched the first strike of the battle plan go off without a hitch.  Kimball's skillful attack only reinforced his idea that diversity was necessary for an effective crew.  Especially on a ship that was more an more oriented towards battles, sad as that was.

-/\-Kirok to Mr. Tekin and Ms. Garrison.  Execute your diversionary plan.  Do it now -/\- he said after tapping his com badge.

-/\-Discovery Alpha to Shran Saucer section.  Strike now.  Kirok out-/\- Kirok said and then ended the transmission.

[15 minutes ago- Conference Room]
Alyssa nodded at everyone and walked out of the room, leaving a copy of the medical data on the conference table if someone wanted it. She walked to the transporter room, ordered that she be transported back to the Shran, stepped on the transporter pad, and was sent home.

[conference room]

Demlion had been sitting quiet throughout the whole meeting. He eyed the Medical data pad. He took it because he would need it. He had started to study it to gather information that he would need.

Demlion took the medical pad back to the modified small sick bay. As he walked through the bridge he had stopped to speak to EQ. "My friend keep us together," he whispered. If the Admiral Kirok spotted him and the respected command staff. Demlion would nod his head to acknowledge them.

=/\= "Understood. " =/\= Kinley said as she stood and activated her section of the disguise. Almost instantly, the illusion popped up, giving the appearance of a fleet of ships. The Saucer section of the Shran streaked past the Beta section.  "Fire at will!" Kinley gripped the armrest of her seat as the beta bridge was rocked with a hit of phaser fire. "Report!"
We're in Starfleet here. Weird is part of the job description.

Fala Awen

[Gamma Section Bridge]

As the battle was about to start, Awen felt herself shimmer back into existence on the Gamma bridge. She glanced around, seeing her other crewmates who were assigned there materialize as well. Knowing there wasn't much time to waste, the Bajoran quickly moved over to her station and pulled up the relevant information she would need.

The ship shuddered slightly as MVAM was engaged and the ship split into its three sections. Awen watched on the viewscreen as each ship section moved into position and the Borg Cube came into view. Gritting her teeth, she exhaled quietly, expelling a breath she hadn't realized she was holding.

Her fingers slid across the console easily as she started running additional scans of the area; for now she wasn't picking up on any dangerous particle emissions or buildups, nor any spatial anomalies that would cause issues.

Turning her attention back to the viewscreen, she saw the first shots of the battle slam into the Borg Cube. It almost seemed too easy...the tactically-minded part of her felt uneasy at the thought. What was happening on that Cube? Why hadn't the Borg contacted them to inform them that 'Resistance was Futile'? And where were the Romulans?

Nothing about the situation made her feel any better. Starting off in a formation seemed a fool-hardy plan to her; Awen's thumb tapped repeatedly against her console as she waited to see the ship sections move about in an attack pattern.

Then, suddenly, everything seemed to be happening at once. The various ship sections began zooming through space around the Cube as they fired. The Bajoran turned quickly as she heard alarms blaring. They hadn't been hit yet, but it was likely a warning that the Cube was preparing to fire. Unfortunately, she couldn't tell from her console.

She wished there was more for her to do, but the probes were being handled by the others and the scans weren't coming up with anything pertinent. A small part of her wished that she was in Security/Tactical after all...at least in this moment. Then she would be able to make a difference. In her heart, she knew she was where she belonged, but still a part of Awen yearned to be firing on the enemy vessel.

The Borg Cube fired in response to their shields being taken down.  "Evasive maneuvers.  And return fire" Kirok said.

Tekin Nevir

(sorry for absence, lost internet)

Nevir had taken the bridge of the Gamma section later, after they had split, but once he was there, the ships came out of warp.

The view was incredible, as the three sections appeared in front of the cube, the sensors activated, and each section gave the illusion of another three sections of ships coming out of warp.  What started as 3 quickly looked like 12, as the illusions created the appearance of a total of 4 Prometheus class ships.

Nevir didn't wait for his bridge crew to note that he was there.  "Fire!" he shouted, as Gamma went into action.  He made sure to patch himself into the main bridge for a constant communication, and directed the secondary engineering section to deploy randomized evasive actions.

A shot came out and hit them square on the bridge, saved only by their shielding.  The tactical crewman manning the station was thrown back and knocked off, and Nevir swung his head around.

"Fala!  Man tactical. Fire Pattern Sierra.  Helm bring us around 159 mark 43."

=/\= "Admiral, we're on our way." =/\= Nevir called, and directed the helmsman to come about and intercept the Shran's saucer section.

Nevir waited for the right moment, and then directed the section to cross over the Saucer, taking the next two hits meant for the Shran.

=/\= "Shran, this is Commander Tekin.  We'll try to get some heat off of them!" =/\= he said, and he turned to Fala.  "Let's get their attention Awen.  Full spread Omega.  Target anything."

Fala Awen

[Gamma Bridge]

Awen watched the battle from the viewscreen, glancing back at her Science console every so often to ensure nothing important had been found. Their section of the ship flashed through space around the Borg vessel. She watched as their weapons fired on the much larger ship, seeing explosions where they made contact. And then the Cube began firing in earnest.

As one of the Borg Cube's shots made contact, the Bajoran gripped her console tightly to remain where she was and not get tossed about. Looking around, not everyone was quite so lucky, but her attention was caught by Nevir's words.

"Fala!  Man tactical. Fire Pattern Sierra.  Helm bring us around 159 mark 43."

"Aye, sir." Awen didn't have time to think, though her heart beat faster. She quickly got up from the science console and moved over to tactical. It wasn't exactly the same as a Bajoran vessel, but she'd taken Academy classes and the general idea would remain the same. Tapping at the console, she brought up the preset firing options and chose the one requested. "I have it, Commander. Fire Pattern Sierra ready," she announced.

She looked through the details of the firing pattern and saw that the ship wasn't quite in position for the most effective damage, but the ship was moving into the best position for it. Awen's eyes glanced over the rest of the controls and requested a power boost to the weapons, which came in short order.

"Firing," she called out as she tapped the console, watching as the Gamma section's weapons unleashed on the Borg Cube. At the moment, she was targeting its weapons - or so she hoped. A small smirk crossed her lips as she saw their weapons fire hit their enemy, small explosions showing on the surface.

From the console, she ordered up three successive weapon strikes with firing pattern omega, modifying the command to be a full spread each time. In theory, it would target the Cube's engines and weapons, unless the design had changed from the Federation's information. "Aye, Commander. Firing now - Full Spread Omega," Awen said as she executed the command.

This battle was far different from others she had been in. Certainly she had never been in a ship that could split into three parts and never against the Borg. Awen could feel the adrenaline running through her as she watched their portion of the ship unleashing its firepower on the Borg Cube - explosions lit up its surface as each made contact on the much larger vessel. "We have some direct hits, sir; they're definitely taking damage and they're not firing as much," the Bajoran reported.

Her heart still remained with Science, but in this case she was grateful for her time in the Militia. Of course, any officer on the bridge would need to be able to man any station in case of emergency, but her militia training helped as well. Awen glanced back at the Executive Officer before turning her attention to the viewscreen and watching the flow of the battle.

OFF: Tag Tekin, gamma bridge, other ship sections for battle?

Kiork sat and watched the battle unfold before him.  They had been correct in calling a preemptive strike.  And the Romulans agenda was falling apart in front of them.
