Shadow Fleet Characters: D&D Edition
« on: September 27, 2017, 03:03:53 pm »
So another random idea to come out of the Columbus's skype chats.

What would your character's stats be if they were a D&D Character?

There are six stats, which range from 1-20, where 1 is absolutely the worst in the universe and 20 is the most perfect being in the universe.

Here are the categories:
Strength measures your character's muscle and physical power.
Dexterity measures hand-eye coordination, agility, reflexes, and balance.
Constitution represents your character's health and stamina.
Intelligence determines how well your character learns and reasons.
Wisdom describes a character's willpower, common sense, perception, and intuition.
Charisma measures a character's force of personality, persuasiveness, personal magnetism, ability to lead, and physical attractiveness.

--------------------

So let's see what you got and why!

Dylan:
Strength: 13. Dylan is pretty strong for his build but his build isn't exactly the top tier.
Dexterity: 18. Dylan is an Engineer and is used to lots of hand-eye related tasks and jobs, in cramped and enclosed places sometimes.
Constitution: 16. Dylan is a phaser sponge, if anyone's met him, and goes through quite a bit of torture.
Intelligence: 8. He's not exactly the brightest and is human, not Vulcan.
Wisdom: 10. He's got a good gut feeling for things, but sometimes lets his emotions get in the way or his past haunt his present.
Charisma: 6. Whatdya looking for, an Orion? He is a rude crude freighter child. Function over Form.

You really think his Charisma that bad? Wow your harsh on your character.

For context- in D&D 20 is "legendary" rather than "perfect being in the universe". So like 20 would be someone whose Strength would be noted in the history books.

Constance
Human

Str: 8
Constance is a small, petite, human with little to no combat skill.

Dex: 12
She gets by with some of her computer work and knows how to fire a phaser well enough. She's no acrobat but she used to be a concert violin player before her injury.

Con: 9
She is kind of frail and small and goes down easily.

Int: 19
Regarded as one of the foremost authorities on minutia related to federation codes, law, logistics, management of resources, and organization, Constance has a reputation for perfection. She has was the chief of operations on several starships for many years and and a background in medical.

Wis: 12
Constance is wise enough to figure things out but sometimes misses social cues (reflected in her Charisma). Despite this, she has great insight into problems and knows how to delegate

Cha: 10
While a skilled diplomat, Constance is introverted and has a flat, critical, affect that causes her to come across as always bored. Still, she has a great degree of discipline over her emotions- at least externally.

Vem
Klingon
Str: 16
Dex: 08
Con: 14
Int: 10
Wis: 18
Cha: 14

I guess Ian would be:

Strength 12
Dex 15
Con 13
Int 15
Wis 9
Cha 15

Ian is a handsome stereotypical pilot. He has good hand eye coordination  and the intelligence to plot courses on the fly. Physically, he's fit, but not overly so. His weakness is not always thinking things through and saying what he thinks when he probably shouldn't.

Lek is:

Strength 10
Dex 14
Con 16
Int 14
Wis 12
Cha 8/14

Lek is a typical Ferengi, small of stature and nimble with the usual robust immune system. I split his charisma for human perceptions and how other Ferengi see him.

Ser:

Strength 12  slightly above average.  From martial arts.

Dexterity 19 1/2 I've always image Ser with near god like reflexes and spatial awareness.  He'd be a ranger in d&d

Constitution 11 no great shakes here. Not a Marathon runner.

Intelligence 10 can hold a thought in his head.  It's just getting it back.

Wisdom 16 he good at understanding what's going on around him, under the surface.

Charisma 13 I think he's a funny dude, and he ain't ugly.

Kinley
Human

Strength: 7
Kinley is pretty small and petite for her age and does not have much in the way of upper body strength.

Dexterity: 8
Kinley can handle typing complex computer codes and lab procedures really well. She is bad at cooking and chemistry though.

Constitution: 9
She is pretty healthy, though small and petite as previously mentioned.

Intelligence: 18
She hates to mention it, but Kinley is kind of a genius. (She graduated the Academy early and is already a Lt Commander at 19!) she also knows her stuff pretty well and is a pretty fast learner.

Wisdom 17
Kinley is pretty resistant in her willpower and she sometimes seems more mature than her age implies. She also is rather intuitive. However, sometimes her style of experimentation is more in the way of Mythbusters as she's still a dorky teenager at heart and likes explosions.

Charisma 13.5
Let's face it, she's adorkable. Often with a smile on her face, she gets along rather well with most people. She's still learning how to lead others in her department, especially older colleagues who may be twice as old as her.  She is still in the somewhat awkward teenage phase and is trying to figure out boys. (To not much luck.)

————————
Ardy
1/4 Betazoid, 3/4 Human hybrid

Strength: 12
Ardyn works at times with heavy machinery and Flyer parts which has boosted her strength. She has beaten some fellow pilots at arm wrestling back in her racing days.

Dexterity: 18.5
Ardy is uncanny at high-speed piloting, and her reflexes have been honed by years of fast-acting flying. She also isn't bad at fixing things as well.

Constitution: 11
She's pretty average in that. Can take a few hits and fight through pain fairly well.

Intelligence: 9
She's also pretty average at that, though she is more likely than not to be confused about things which are theoretical or that she can't physically manipulate.

Wisdom 8
She has a lot of willpower and isn't bad intuition-wise ( that's her Betazoid 1/4 helping her on that.) but, she is pretty hotheaded and quick to come to conclusions. She does not have the mind reading or telepathy skills due to her mostly human heritage, so sometimes, she can be off on her emotional reading of others.

Charisma 11.5
She is rather physically attractive but her hotheaded personality and impulsive behavior sometimes push people away. She gets along with others generally well, though doesn't have too much in the way of friends outside her circle.

Solluk
Vulcan

Str: 18
Solluk has almost never had occasion to make a display of Strength, but he keeps physically fit and comes from a high-gravity world.  It would be sensible that he is quite strong.

Dex: 16
Solluk's nimbleness has been oft stated, contributing to his piloting, martial arts prowess, and his accuracy with a phaser.

Con: 16
Solluk again keeps physically fit and is from a thin-air world.  I think this contributes to a high Constitution.

Int: 13
This is where I wish D&D had a TECH score, like Cyberpunk 2020 did, which would make it more appropriate for building a Sci-Fi character.  Solluk is brighter than he thinks he is, but he's not a genius.  He wouldn't necessarily be a very good science officer, for instance.  However, he has an aptitude and love for technical things, and was shown over several posts to read technical reports and even software update reports with genuine interest long before he ever seriously considered a career in Engineering.

Wis: 8
So, I think Solluk is actually wiser than this, but his Wisdom is often on a delay.  He is wise in retrospect.  When he analyzes things later and understands what he did wrong.  He is also prone to impulsiveness sometimes due to his emotions, leading him to do things that are not necessarily wise, or to not do things that would have been wise, due to fear and insecurity.  Wisdom isn't useful if you don't exhibit it in the moment, so I give him a penalty here.

Cha: 10
So... how charismatic is Solluk?  I think his earnestness and general honesty make him appealing to the right people.  But I also think his insecurities and self-doubt could make him tiresome for other people.  And when he does show self-confidence, he is often riding a wave of emotional impulse that can too closely resemble psychopathy (such as when he takes genuine enjoyment from combat... though he has the good sense to feel a bit awkward about it afterwards.  He also routinely misinterprets Jada as being bloodthirsty even in instances when she is not, probably due to projection on his part.)  Solluk is probably the cranberry of the personality world.  A bit sweet, or a bit bitter, depending on who you are and what you like.

Comeliness (1st Edition Unearthed Arcana Throwback): 16
Solluk is modeled on Tom Hiddleston.  So, he's a pretty good looking fella, in my opinion.

Rayek tr'Lhoell
Roluman
Str: 18 (maybe higher since vulcanoids are 2-3 times stronger than the average human)
Dex: 15
Con: 15 (he survived nearly a year on Penal mining colony)
Int: 16 (specialized in espionage and gathering intelligence)
Wis: 10 (despite his intelligence he makes some pretty poor choices)
Cha: 8 (Rayek doesn't have a naturally charismatic personality)
Com: 13  (face claim is Ben Affleck)

It's what you'd assign your character, no rolling needed.
