A Plague on your House - Claimed

Basic Premise: On YourBase, the Intelligence Officer notifies the Security Chief that a known Andoran spy (not to be confused with an Andorian) is travelling through the station and might be smuggling some sort of illicit weapon of unknown origin.  When the Security Chief intercepts the Andoran, a struggle ensues during which the Andoran drops a vial of unknown substance, and the vial breaks.  Soon, a severe illness begins to spread through the base.  Medical and Science teams must work to discover the nature of the illness while Security teams try to control an increasingly restless population.   Matters become worse when it becomes known that a Romulan diplomatic representative on YourBase has summoned a Romulan warbird to evacuate him.   With the clock ticking, riots in the halls, and a Romulan Warbird threatening to open fire, can Yourbase's officers solve the illness in time to avert disaster?

Starting Point: On YourBase, the Intelligence Officer (getting an advisory from Starfleet) notifies the Security Chief that a known Andoran spy (not to be confused with an Andorian) is travelling through the station and might be smuggling some sort of illicit weapon of unknown origin.

End Goal: Yourship's Tactical officers fend off the Romulan warbird while Security officers quell riots while Medical and Science personnel finally solve the issue of how to stop the deadly plague spreading like wildfire through the station.

Story points that must be passed?:

I) On YourBase, the Intelligence Officer (getting an advisory from Starfleet) notifies the Security Chief that a known Andoran spy (not to be confused with an Andorian) is travelling through the station and might be smuggling some sort of illicit weapon of unknown origin.

II) When the Security Chief intercepts the Andoran, a struggle ensues during which the Andoran drops a vial of unknown substance, and the vial breaks.

III) Soon, a severe illness begins to spread through the base.

IV) Medical and Science teams must work to discover the nature of the illness while Security teams try to control an increasingly restless population.

V) Matters become worse when it becomes known that a Romulan diplomatic representative on YourBase has summoned a Romulan warbird to evacuate him- an act which would break quarantine.

VI) The tactical officer (in cooperation with other C&C officers) must fend off attacks from the Romulan Warbird (but without destroying it and creating a diplomatic incident.)

VII) The Security personnel must contain riots and rebellions from people on Yourbase who want to break quarantine and escape the plague-ridden base.

VIII) Medical and Science teams finally find a cure to the plague, distributing it in time to avert disaster all around.

Departments: (To make sure everyone has something to do.)

- Flight: Some ships which illicitly try to break quarantine and escape the base may need to be hunted down by fighter craft/attack shuttles and disabled before they can get away and potentially spread the plague.  Also: Flight crews may help defend Yourbase against the Romulan warbird via defense shuttles/runabouts/fighters.

- Engineering: As people riot and become frantic to escape Yourbase, they will break things, destroy security equipment.  In addition, the Romulan Warbird will do damage that must be repaired.

- Operations: Damage Control and Security Teams must be constantly dispatched to handle problems throughout the plague, and energy transfers may be needed during the battle with the Warbird.

- Security and tactical: In addition to fending off the Warbird and using Yourbase weapons to disable/tractor escaping civilian ships, Security teams will be needed to quell riots.

- Medical: Will need to work with Science to uncover the nature of this exotic disease and find a cure for it.

- Science: Will need to work with Medical to uncover the nature of this exotic disease and find a cure for it.

Additional Notes: The Andoran spy recovered this disease sample from a biological survey team on Droparis V, a glacial world entering a melt, during which long-frozen micro-organisms and bacteria are being released from the ice.  When the survey team all died, the Andorans found that the reason was this long-dormant organism.  Having collected a sample for use in their bioweapons program, they proceeded to 'nuke' the planet from orbit, destroying all other trace of the disease.   When they later got an offer from the Romulans to purchase the bioweapon for a hefty sum, they decided to make the trade on Yourbase.   This is how the Andoran spy came to be smuggling the weapon on Yourbase in the first place, and why a Romulan 'diplomatic' officer happened to be on board at the same time.
