The Collector - Claimed

Mission Title: The Collector
Synopsis:A mysterious object appears, being sent by a technologically advanced but phobic society.  It is sent to collect samples from the galaxy and take it back to it's home planet for study.  It just happens to appear next to Starfleet and is at first a mystery and Starfleet personnel do not seem to notice when things start going missing, until bigger and more important things start going missing. Then finally the Collector begins taking samples of people.  The Federation needs to stop the Collector before it disappears back to its home planet where they'll never see their personnel again; or that china tea set that your grandmother left you...

Starting Point: All is quiet until sensors pick up an unidentified object that just appeared.  Communications fail but it doesn't seem like a threat.  The Collector is not armed, but its hull is heavily armored and sensors can barely get through.  Perhaps an away mission into the object can help?
End Goal: Get the Collector to deactivate before it disappears with the people its stolen.
Story points that must be passed?:
* Object detected and explored
*personal objects start going missing
* important/expensive equipment starts disappearing
* people start disappearing
* crew realizes that it's the object is taking them and has to come up with a plan to get them back before it disappears

Departments: (To make sure everyone has something to do.)
- Flight: Can get closer to the object, perhaps smaller ships go missing
- Engineering: whatever they want missing, engineering would be a sure bet
- Operations: figure out what the object is and how to get inside it, or get stuff out of it
- Security and tactical: same as operations, getting reports of missing/stolen items then missing people
- Medical:perhaps away team, perhaps people get hurt, medical equipment gets stolen
- Science: will help operations in trying to figure out what the object is and how it works
