Michael J. Tritter

[Personal Log, Stardate: 71247.14]

This last mission had taken a bit of a mental toll on the Chief. He was not the type to give up or call it quits, but a six hour interview with a psychopath will completely wear out anyone. He took the role of keeping the Station Safe very seriously, he kept that mission near and dear to his heart, after all, his family is here too. After the mission came with a surprise, a promotion for him. Although he never saw himself as a "Command" type, but apparently someone saw something in him. He just was good at solving problems and fixing situations, thats pretty much it.

It meant the world to him to have his family there for it, which was a good thing. He also knew this meant he would likely be busier than he has been, but one major blessing he has is a super supportive family unit. Where things go from here will definitely be interesting.

Tritter had thought to himself, he knew it had been a while since he had done of these. He had been told it might be helpful for him to do it and get the various thoughts out of his head. Things had skyrocketed for him since he had done his last entry. He had moved from Second Officer, to Executive Officer, as well as two promotions, from Lieutenant to Lieutenant Commander, than to Commander. Which had started to put a damper on the family time, but they had found a way to deal with it.

On a prior mission, involving the Collector, a member of his family had been taken, which was very stressful and agonizing for him, as he was super worried about them. It wasn't the type of thing he was used to and it took a significant toll on him mentally. But his Husband had performed in a stellar fashion and went above and beyond. It had taken a lot out of them, but he was just happy to have them back. It felt like part of him was missing the entire time and he was terrified, although the man is very good at hiding those feelings.

The last mission, involving the Vigilante that had gone around murdering people on the Starbase, while the victims were criminals and similar types, there was no tolerance for vigilante style behavior on the station. It was a bit frustrating for him because it was a Starfleet Officer who had been their vigilante. The two men had similar backgrounds, but they ended up as two very different people. He was very lucky to have ended up in the position he is in, and it took a lot to end up there.

Tritter was never the fan of these things, but things had changed dramatically and quickly. Putting things "on paper" as it was turned out to be an almost therapeutic exercise for him. It helped him deal with many things, namely his past. He had a knack for adapting and over coming mental hardships that most lacked, but not many had been through what he did. Things had gotten worse before they had gotten better, his family being away most of the time due to his Husband's work was a significant stressor, but he was never the type to force another to give up what they loved.

But there was a point where it was taking too much out of him mentally, it took a toll on his work, his stress level sky rocketed, he became more grumpy than what he typically was, even though he had that gruff exterior, he tried to not be too much of an asshole to be around. But he got bitter, grumpy and occasionally was out of line. Things had to change and thankfully, they were able to make it work. His Husband and the kids came to stay full time, his Husband was able to line up something for work, as they would go mad otherwise and Tritter knew that, they were too driven to be a house husband. They landed a job chasing fugitives from justice for a well respected multi-agency task force, they also dealt with the depraved criminals that often made up most people's nightmares, he was proud of them, but he worried. If anyone knew their way around a dangerous situation, it was his Husband, they had an uncanny knack for that type of thing.

He was recently promoted to Commander, nothing made him happier than having his family there and being able to pin on his new rank, which meant the world to him. Not long after that, it was announced Admiral Ayedemi would be leaving and he would be taking over the "big chair" if you will, they were big shoes to fill and he was truthfully, worried if he would pass muster. But, having the support of those you care about meant a lot. Nothing felt better than having them present and he would be damned if he was going to let them go anywhere, again.
