Zuriel Soreka

[USS Discovery Shuttle]

Zuriel sat in the shuttle checking the systems over and over, he was preparing for what would be quite a long trip to pick up a dignitary, this particular dignitary was extremely important to the federation, but more so to the three men chosen to receive her. The three El-Aurians of the Discovery would escort Jhet'hai Basima of House Shirin. The federation had gone above and beyond when it came to the aid of Zuriel's people, so when the Jhet'hai was invited back to earth for a leaders conference she had no reason to say no. The Discovery and the crew chosen to fetch her were hand picked to ensure she would be the most comfortable. Zuriel could not help but be a little nervous, he had met the Jhet'hai before but it was on much darker ground, it was his transport ship that evacuated her in the days of the borg attack.

To add to it it would be the first time he would personally meet his crewmates and kinsmen, and for once in a long time Zuriel would be the baby in the room, although he had many achievements to be proud of in his life Zuriel still was subordinate according to El-Aurian custom, yet superior in federation rank, it was tricky to understand where one ended and the other began. Still Zuriel had heard nothing but good things about the crew of the mission, so he was not too worried, he simply would make sure everything on the shuttle was perfect before they arrived.

Jettis Jyur

[USS Discovery Shuttle]

Jettis had been in his quarters, rehearsing the same words over and over, reading about customs he already knew, making sure his clothing was pristine. He had never even begun to imagine he would have this honor - what had it been, a hundred years? More? He wasn't sure, but he did know that it had been far too long since he'd last been to El-Auria Prime. Or El-Auria, for that matter. Far too long since he'd brushed up on the songs, or the greetings, or the attire. Of course, these were things he would never, ever forget, but it did mean that his execution of the practices could be a little rusty. He'd only just recently realized that he was not the only one of his kind on the ship, and that there were others who would understand his actions without a detailed, drawn out explanation of El-Aurian practices. Needless to say, having to explain his customs every time deterred him from publicly displaying them often.

But now he deemed himself sufficiently brushed up on everything, as he nervously made his way to the shuttlebay. He didn't display this nervousness, however, striding confidently and purposefully into the designated Shuttle. Nodding to the only other occupant so far as he moved to check a few things, he left Zuriel to his own, almost obsessive checking and rechecking of the systems. Clearly, both of them wanted this to be flawless, and who wouldn't? Not only was it someone important to the Federation as a whole, but to them, personally.

Once he'd finished with his once-over of the Science station, he'd plop down in the seat next to Zuriel, shooting him a sideways grin as they waited for D'Vid to report that he was ready. While Jettis had met the Petty Officer on a semi-personal basis before, Zuriel remained something of a mystery to the 'middle child' of the three. So this journey could be a good chance to get to know his superior, if they were to be working together regularly now.

"Excited?" He asked, as he turned to stare out the window, at nothing particularly interesting as of yet. "Being able to escort the Jhet'hai is usually reserved to Elders only, a once in a lifetime chance." That was a bold statement, considering their life-span. But as of late it seemed to be getting less and less rare, with younger El-Aurians being given more responsibility, and being put in higher positions. Ages ago, you would need to be at least nine hundred to have any sort of business around the Jhet'Hai. And that wasn't including with her. His facade broke an his nervousness showed slightly, as he rubbed his hands together, glancing down at the PADD sitting in his lap, simply containing his orders. A Scientist wasn't especially needed on a trip simply to escort a dignitary, so he had taken on primary, mediatorial duties, even though the El-Aurians and Federation were in no kind of a dispute. Nevertheless, he would serve as a mock-delegate until they had arrived at their destination, and his job would be passed onto official delegates and admirals.

Until then, he could only wring his hands and fret needlessly. Everything would be fine, how wrong could this meeting possibly go, worst case scenario? Best case, Basima was a very laid back person, easy to please and not at all befitting the stuffy, stuck up image the word "Queen" brought to mind. Worst case, she was as cold as the mountains, a stickler for everything formal, and a perfectionist. In either case, Jettis was prepared to maintain his composure, no matter what her attitude was.

[quarters]

D'Vid was feeling nervous being with the other El-Aurians. He had try to shake his body to get used to the feel of the fabric on him that was made by his people. It had been ages since he had worn these garments.

Working on the ship he was able to hide behind his duty by working on the ship. He had a time to work with Jettis, someone who was young for an El-Aurian. He had try to not to get to close to the other El-Aurians.

It was all new to him. What all was lost was reborn. It was something that would be lost once again. By the high power he could not share what his cousin, Eron share him in the future about their people. They are supposed to be instinct.

He had wondered he would have the power to stop it from going that direction. He would be messing up with time itself. He had to figure that out when the proper time would happen.

It was like he knew to much but he could not share it. He spent all night preparing a meditation to block his thoughts on time shifting. He had accepted that his people were instinct but they are not. There are more of them that he could not imagine.

Man. He felt he was going out of his own skin. This was crazy. The fact he will be on a mission with others. By his people he's mature for his age.

What if they ask him to stay? Can he? There was so much running in his poor mind. He knew less and not sure what to know or what to think.

How he wished Eron would come to grab to be in the future. He had felt more like home in that time line.

[Shuttle]

D'vid had left his quarter almost tripping going out. By the moons old El-Auria he was falling apart.

Tripping into the shuttle, D'Vid caught himself. A nervous smile was his face. He was gave the two other El-Aurians a fainted smile. "Ah...Hi," he said moving toward the back seat at the Engineering console. He was nervous as heck. Trying to compose himself from falling apart, he took deep breathes. He never fell apart like this. What will become of him.

"Excited yes, Just want to make sure everything is perfect, not false positives, no weak warp coils, or faulty synthesizers. Just a nice smooth trip there and back." Zuriel laughed as he finally caught himself in his obsessive checking of systems, it was like he was an ensign again leaving nothing to chance. "And while elders are ideal, someone has to run the planet in the Jhet'hai"s absence, starfleet is sending us because we are both her people, and officers of the federation, we would be better suited to aid her in her journey. Besides three of the seven El-Aurian's of starfeet are sitting in his shuttle right now."

Zuriel watched as the full compliment for the mission had now arrived, each in their proper attire. Besides humans and many species stopped believing years ago that cloths make the man, they value class yes, but gone are the days if they were ever there, that they believe you attire actually speaks volumes about you, by the moons some are even bald."
"Lieutenant Commander Soreka to USS Discovery, Diplomatic Envoy to El-Auria Prime is ready to embark."Zuriel said calmly as he primed the warp coils, and made sure the antimatter mixtures were within limits.

"Acknowledged Envoy, you are clear to leave the hanger bay at your leasure." A voice over the comm channel replied.

'Well we have no less than a ten hour trip to home, so we might as well get the formalities out of the way, I Am Zuriel Soreka of House Amiri." Zuriel said giving each of his companions a pleasant gaze before he turned back forward to begin his flight mission.

"Your in good hands I assure you, this is not my first time transporting the Jhet'hai, but last time the borg attacked so it has been awhile. In any case we should have a smooth ride." He Smirked as he made the port side turn out of the ship.

Jettis Jyur

Jettis nodded sympathetically at Zuriel's words. "I know what you mean. I spent two hours rehearsing my own language, just in case," he muttered, before laughing at himself.
He glanced up as the Shuttle opened to reveal the last person they needed to at last depart, on what would be Jettis' most important mission so far in the federation.

Turning to D'Vid as he stepped in, he offered him a light smile to relax him. He seemed just as nervous as the rest of him, and opted to sit in the back.
Turning back to Zuriel as he finished reporting that they were ready to take off. He nodded, smiling easily as he suggested they get the pleasantries out of the way early. It relaxed his nerves slightly, but only slightly. At least he didn't have to worry about not working well with his fellow El-Aurians.

"I am Jettis Jyur, of House Amiri." He responded, glad to see a house mate of his. It wasn't surprising, though, the Amiri's numbers were far from dwindling, all this considered.
He glanced back at D'Vid, awaiting his answer, before glancing at his station. Might as well do his job while they were taking off, but he already knew there were no debris, no turbulence outside the ship. It'd probably be quiet a while before they encountered anything that could potentially disturb their ride, as they were sitting in a nice strip unmarred by asteroids, electro-magnetic storms, or anything of the like. Considering anything could happen in space, though, he would keep a vigilant eye out.

"You were on El-Auria when the borg invaded?" He hesitated slightly to ask, but he couldn't exactly see the harm in it. It was a sensitive subject, but not a taboo one. "I was on the planet, but not living there at the time," he explained, resisting the urge to nervously fiddle with the hem of his shirt again. "I had a non-El-Aurian shuttle, the Borg couldn't recognize it."

D'Vid

[shuttle]

.

D'Vid had feared that they would talk about things he had wanted not wanted to talk about. He had a huge fear. It was painful to remember such a loss. Like the loss of the Americans who witness there own city was attacked by terrorists. Who would dream to watch planes crash in those tall sky scrapers. When he heard the news when he was in that time line. It dragged him back to memory lane of his home world.

The man was not alone. He was happy that the El-Aurians are still living. Their existence is small, but they are still surviving. Between the Borg and the Q they had keep on existing. Though Eron had shared that his people will be in trouble once again. He was unable to share that.

D'Vid had a small smile when Jettis said he was warming up on their home planet language.

There was a thought he had sent to both of them. See how sensitive they are. It is hard for me. Please don't judge me. But do hear me?

He placed his hands together rubbing them. He had chosen to speak in old El-Aurian. D'Vid house Zini, he paused to see they were able to understand. Then he threw them a curve ball. Your mother sitting on my pizza

His house was the genius behind making space ships. He was well known as a instructor teaching on theories on space travel and history of their people in technology. He believed his house was the first attacked by the Borg. The Borg knew that the El-Aurians will be a great asset to the Borg collective.

There was a survivor of the house who was father of Eron. The mind of his thought how true was the story his nephew told him. He was from the future. It could have been a future son of his. But why would not his son tell him that if that was a truth.

Speaking his language came back to him in second nature. He looked at the two. "You two want me talk in basic or our language?"

"I was." Zuriel said solemnly as he remembered the pain and sorrow he felt in that time. "I made three trips back and forth, the first were for the Queen and the elders the last two were for civilians. It was the last shuttle which we were trapped by the nexus and...I lost my first wife." It was a sad subject but Zuriel had did his best to come to terms with it.

"After that i drifted in space smuggling mostly for farengi, but soon my father talked some sense into me and I joined Starfleet. What about you? how did you end up here?" Zuriel was happily cut off as D'vid used their native language, it had been too long since he had heard it used. "No I prefer it, it is what we were born to speak, I fear the universal translator has become a direct enemy of tradition." Zuriel laughed in the native tongue
"I must admit D'vid I had the feeling you were avoiding me for a long time, I attempted to meet you on no less than two occasions, and every time I just missed you." Zuriel commented keeping his vision forward looking where he was flying.

Jettis Jyur

Jettis nodded solemnly at Zuriel as he spoke, furrowing his brow in sympathy. "I'm so sorry to hear that," he said, genuinely, voice quieting. Listening as Zuriel continued, nodding at the similarities to his own story.

He paused, as he heard something, and quirked a brow at it, glancing at D'Vid. He was confused - of course he heard him, he was speaking right? It went over his head the fact that D'vid had been speaking mentally.

"I agree with Zuriel, we were born to speak El-Aurian." He agreed, chuckling, before turning back to Zuriel.
"My life was similar - I grew up on Earth, and ran away when I was an adult in Earth years, but still would barely be considered a child on El-Auria. I missed El-Auria at the time, so I started heading back towards it. But obviously, it's a long journey, and you've got to get fuel an money somewhere. So I stopped at a lot of planets, became quite famous around the galaxy. I stayed about one to five years on each planet, if I stayed at all." He paused to check the shuttle's scanners, as well as for a breath.
"And of course, I still had the issue of money. But jobs came up - being trusted on many different planets, I was often used as a link to smuggle objects, or transport people, or other similar activities, some more illegal than others." He chuckled, smirking at the last part. Clasping his hands together, he watched the screen, as they left the Discovery behind, flying out into open space.

"I only decided to settle down and join Starfleet after my daughter, Theresa was born." He explained, smiling fondly at the thought. Turning back towards D'Vid, he nodded toward him. "What about you, what's your story of getting into Starfleet?" He queried, guessing they might as well keep the ball rolling. They all seemed to have unique stories about this anyway.

D'Vid had to shift his eyes to look at a console. It was a blank stare. He was thinking on what he could share. He gave it a moment.

"My coming to Starfleet is unique," he shared. If he knew he was going to be talking about his past. He would had rehearsed it in his head.

Was he able to trust his fellow El-Aurians? Was he dying to share his experience from the past? He had heard stories from other peoples lives. He had kept their secrets. They asked him to do it. They asked. He obeyed. He even had asked permission to share their stories too.

He looked at the men and leaned back in his chair. He had failed to raise one eye brow because he was never good at it. He had never had practiced doing it. Then he could have been a bad a Vulcan. You never see a Vulcan raise both eye brows when they have a questionable look to them. Or a look they think your illogical.

Clasping his hands together. "Zuriel, you are correct that I had been trying avoid you," D'Vid turned to look Jet. "I was even trying to avoid you too...kid," he called Jettis. It was a good solid nick name. He after all shared his age, so D'Vid had seen him as child of their culture.

D'Vid knew about Zuriel in the days before the Borg attack. He heard the man was a pilot for the elders and the Queen.

"At this moment, I need to have you swear I can trust you. The choice of words I share to you can poss...." he stopped. "I just need you to give me the El-Aurian honorable trust... Do you know this ritual?" he turned to Zuriel because he was older. Figure he knew more then Jettis. It had to do a pack of people making a promise like the ritual of adopting a person to your family. It was almost like that. But it had to do with a empath link.*

*Hoping this would be a new ritual of trust. Knowing the three will be apart in April.

"Well I wont go to far into it, but I am savy to more than what you plan to tell me, when your apart of a organization for so long, you learn some things." Zuriel said frankly, he did not go into why Captain Stafford had gone through the trouble of finding him on Andora, there as so much danger in the galaxy right now, stuff that would make the borg look like tribbles, It would actually be smarter not to say anything about D'Vid.

"The area I grew up nothing really changed, people rarely left, the person you were born as was the person you dies as. But once the borg came it changed everything, all the wandering and this colony we have built, it has changed people, makes at all look at things differently." Zuriel replied calmly as he set the auto pilot and turned his seat around to look at his kinsmen. "Some people caved under it, others found that the cosmos was just as big as the elders said it was. But there are too few of us left, too few to judge, until we regain our strength we have to protect each other, I will gladly take the oath with you, in only to strengthen us more." Zuriel said as he outstretched his hand.
