Deus Ex Machina -Claimed

Note: This is quite a bit of 4am brain vomit. Please take pieces or parts as you so please and ignore the gibberish.

Mission Title: Deus Ex Machina
Synopsis:

The USS [Ship name] receives an extremely frantic distress signal from a remote alien starbase, spinning a tale of direness and disaster. They ask for immediate assistance, and the [ship name] responds immediately. This pulls them well off their normal course, but as the situation described is so extreme (station under attack by multiple assailants that have also infected the population of the starbase with a pandemic-level disease), they're diverted at once.

Upon arrival and assessment of the situation, though it appears to be (at first) as bad as claimed, the speed at which they're able to disable the assailants and find a cure for the plague's aftereffects is almost... too fast. Too easy. The attack is stopped far too quickly, a cure for the disease found within two days.

It's quickly discovered that members of each department have gone missing, especially from the teams assigned to assist with after-affect repairs to the starbase. At least one or two from each department are gone, seemingly with little regard for rank.  With the guise of the 'starbase' then dropped, it's discovered that this is actually an attempt for this alien base to gain new, skilled crewmembers for its own staff, 'convinced' to assist-- and they're not the only ship this has happened to.

Starting Point: USS [Ship Name] responds to a far-off but desperate distress call.
End Goal: The USS [Ship Name] must not only retrieve her crewmates, but determine if they can free the others and prevent this cycle from continuing.
Story points that must be passed?:

I) Ship must triangulate distress call and alter course.
II) Assess the scene and the dangers of engaging with enemy combatants attacking the starbase/the disease spreading on the station.
III) Difficulty of beating assailants suddenly becomes minimal-- enemy fleet is destroyed, medical teams dispatched to aid the station.
IV) Whilst repairing the station from the 'attack' and undergoing standard 'thank you' procedures, reports start flitting in at random of crewmembers not returning to their posts or replacing equipment at the ends of their shifts.
V) 'Missing' crewmates find themselves unwittingly entered into a 'training program' which informs them that they have been selected from their crew to work on this station because of their unique skill in their line of work. Little choice is given in the matter of cooperating.
VI) Almost all contact with the station is suddenly cut off-- transporters blocked after the other members of the away teams are suddenly beamed back aboard the [ship name], having been determined to be not as useful as the ones they've chosen.
VII) Other ships, some derelict, some possibly active, are noticed orbiting the planet (previously unnoticed, possibly due to the huge amount of debris left over from the initial battle). One is from a hostile power, but seems to be stuck in the same position [Ship name] is.
VIII) Crew must decide if they wish to go the brute force route and attack the station, or whether they wish to try to solve this diplomatically, in whatever way they can.

Option A:

Challenge point: It would likely take at least two large vessels to have the necessary firepower to overwhelm the station, and cooperating with an enemy ship may prove difficult.

I) Station is heavily defended (there are indications that this may be more of a vessel than a station, despite appearances) and must be attacked strategically without risking injury to the crewmates trapped within, and bearing in mind the engine damper must be disabled before evasive maneuvers can be employed.

II) Station is disabled through whatever creative means can be maneuvered.

III) Crew rescued, willingly or not.

IV) Exit system.

Option B:

I) With or without help, the ship decides to approach diplomacy, eventually breaking through the comm block.

II) Crew expresses knowledge (or at least, speculation, as to what is going on, and asks for a solution without violence)

Challenge: There's a certain degree of receptiveness, but it's explained that they are rapidly losing crew due to a much, much more serious illness than the false 'disease' they lured them with.

III) Crew works together to find a solution that would benefit both the aliens in need of longer-lived personnel, and the [ship name], who would greatly like their crew back.

IV) Crew must decide whether to ask on behalf of their enemies for them to be released from this trap as well.

Challenge: Their crew is already well intermingled with the station's and would be difficult to remove without shorting their staff to a dangerous level.

V) File long and thorough report to starfleet to avoid this 'siren station' even if they found a solution to the problem.

VI) Leave sector immediately, if not sooner.

Departments: (To make sure everyone has something to do.)
- Flight: Politing the ship through the initial battle, then in charge of handling shuttle movement to and from the starbase to transport equipment and personnel. At the plot moves forward, takes part in possible rescue maneuvers.
- Engineering: Must attempt to free the engine from whatever from the station is disrupting its function and preventing escape.
- Operations: Handling repairs on the ship and station after the initial battle, then assisting in engineering helping escape, as well as finding a permanent solution to this station's actions.
- Security and tactical: Responsible for attack maneuvers during initial battle. Security members with the captured crewmates must do their best (as much as they can) to protect the others while avoiding being coerced themselves. Must work with Ops and Medical to both help get their crewmates back and stop these people from continuing.
- Medical: Initially responsible for handling battle casualties, triaging disease victims on the base, and developing a cure for their "plague". Then, work with ops, and science as stated above.
- Science: If the stolen crewmembers are being afflicted by a chemical agent to make them comply, they are responsible for dealing with the aftereffects (and potentially keeping their own captured crew from turning against them). Also responsible for helping with any chemical agents used in combating these aliens.
