If there was one thing Tritter did appreciate, it was the matter of fact and emotionless nature of Vulcans, although he could not match their completely emotionless nature 100% of the time, he himself was  very matter of fact and he enjoyed that. He tapped his comm badge and replied with a brief "Acknowledged" to the Vulcan and Doctor. He moved forward with his initial exam of the body he had infront of him, although he was careful to not remove how she was posed and such, as that is significant to the case. He also took the necessary photos as well. At this point, there was a Security Detail formed to keep the "public" away from the scene, thankfully there was not really an audience as this is a pretty sequestered part of the base. He would than notice both T'Prina, the Doctor and Carter arriving not too far apart from eachother.

He would than a shift a bit to face them, and than rise to his feet. He was wearing a neatly pressed Command Red uniform, although the gloves he wore were actually fairly clean, as badly burnt subjects don't bleed. He would than state the following, "We need to keep this quiet if you will, but this victim has been burned alive and things I have found are very... concerning to say the least. I have completed an initial exam of the body, as well as wrote the report and taken pictures. She needs to be brought to the Morgue for an autopsy, and we need to know the accelerants used to burn her, thats your job, Lieutenant T'Prina and Doctor Connors. As far as Carter and I go, we need to comb the scene for clues not found on the body and review the footage from this area. I have found a rosary in the right front pocket of the victim, which I have returned to where it was, as well as something in the mouth, I left that alone as there may be evidence lost if I remove it. Questions?" His tone is calm, confident and direct, this type of situation is something the large man is inherently comfortable with after a 20 year law enforcement career.

Katheryn listened as Chief Tritter spoke and explained about what he had found and what he wanted them to do next trying not to look horrified and fighting the urge to be sick at the thought of the victim and what she must of gone through. The burning brought back memories of their most recent mission and her mind went back to the scene in Sickbay and had to bring herself round otherwise she would be of no use and that's the last thing she wanted.

She nodded in acknowledgement and when asked if there was any questions " None from me Chief, would you like me to start combing the area now or check the footage first ?" she asked eager to get started so she could focus and help find those responsible.

"We're OK, Dan," The captain replied. "Jett is now a fugitive. Scour the station and find him. Chief Danner here will be doing the sweep and clear, but I want you to coordinate."

"Good." Howell replied. "Aye Captain, I will set to it immediately." and with that he turned around and headed towards operations to co-ordinate the situation.

Tritter could sense that the Lieutenant was obviously uncomfortable in the given situation, as well as borderline on the sick side of things. He pondered her request for a moment, he than stated "We should investigate this area and than pull footage" His tone was mellow and relaxed, his heavy German accent had an odd way to making itself into his speech. He could appreciate her eagerness however, she reminded him of when he first became a Police Officer and he wanted to put everyone who did something bad away, because of such, there was a part of him that wanted to see her succeed and thrive.

Katheryn had a feeling that the Chief had picked up on how she had been feeling and also her eagerness to get started yet found the way he answered her and the tone he used comforting and at the same time reminded her of someone she knew a long time ago. " Understood Chief, ready when you are" she replied standing back until the body could be taken to the Morgue. She knew that once the area was clear that they could begin their search and hoped that they would find something useful or a least get an idea so they would have a better chance where to begin.

Academy Commandant

Thomas Jett

[Random Hallway]

After a couple of minutes running in a random direction, Jett began slowing down.  The fact that he would keep running after being far from the commotion would make him really suspicious.  The man looked at this equipment and thought to himself.

"It's happening all over again"  He thought to himself
[In front of Black Sun's Bar]
The memories came back after the prosecution, being sent to jail, told he was a traitor and that fact that he trusted the system did not work in his favor.  This time things are going to be different.  He was going to make himself a harder target he was not going to get caught.

As he continued walking he headed towards a area with less than reputable establishment.  He was near the area of the Black Sun's establishment.  It was one of the few places is the Dtarbases that served real alcohol.    Since the adoption of Syntheal as the new standard beverage for recreational purposes, it considerably drop down a lot of problems such as addiction and individuals behaviors.  However, alcohol was still legal in some areas and they were still societal problems with it.

Tom walked the always and saw the Black Sun's bar in front of him.  He looked at his belongs and began thinking of his plan.  He tossed his communicator so it would be hard to find him that way.  He had with him another chip, the one that he wanted to decrypt as a favor, he had his pulse pistol with no spare caps, he had latinium with him, his leather jacket, pants, shirt, there was not a lot of room for error.

Jett figured that it would be a matter of time until security caught up for him.  The best way to get from the station was to change his appearance and purchase an identity so he could leave the station.  Eventually, Stafford would have to release his crew.

The best things to do were act quickly and begin his preparation to leave the station.  He could leave behind his personal belonging and start again.   He needed to law low and not get involved in anything else.
of his plan to escape the Station, his attention was interrupted by an argument by a couple.  The man was visibly intoxicated and the woman was upset.  He attempted to ignored the couple but could not help but overhear their screaming.

"SHUT UP!  *HIC* I CAN HOLD MY LIQUOR"  The man yelled at the woman.

"YOU ARE DRUNK!  YOUR'RE HURTING ME"  The woman yelled as she began to tear up.

"YOU DON'T TELL WHAT I CAN DO!  *HIC* JUST BE QUIET!"  The man yelled as he slapped the woman across the face.

The woman feel into her knees and continued crying.

"I AM THE MAN, AND I DECIDE  *HIC* WHAT TO DO WITH MY WOMAN, REMEMBER YOU ARE MY WIFE, I OWN YOU"  The man yelled again as he kicked her into the stomach.

Jett continued walking and noticed no one was doing anything.  Not calling security was common in this establishment.  He tried to move on and could not help but be drawn to the situation.  He wanted to help but it was against his interest to do so.

He approached the couple and said "Is everything alright ma'am"

Before the woman could answer, the man interrupted their conversation "Were fine, beat it before I kick your ass"

"Hey Tweedledum, I was not talking to you, I was talking to lady, if I wanted to talk to jerks, I would start a conversation with you!"  Jett responded to the man.

"What did you call me?!"  The man said to Jett.  The man approached the civilian and tried to square in his face.  Jett knew he was trying to intimidate him.

"I called you Tweedledum, but really  that's an insult to him...you are a drunk and a idiot" He responded to the man.  He turned his attention to the woman.  She looked bruised and scared.

"Don't please don't you don't know what he is capable off"  The woman warned Jett

Seeing the eyes of true fear in the woman, Jett pulled his pulse pistol and shot the man in the knee.   The man went down quickly.  He held his knee in pain.

"ARRG!! ARE YOU CRAZY!! I'M GOING TO KILL YOU" The man yelled at Jett.

"I'M GOING TO REPORT YOU TO SECURITY"  the man yelled.

"I'll help"  Jett said to the man.

He grabbed his pulse pistol and removed the energy cap from it.  He grabbed the man and placed it into the nearest turbolift.  "Sickbay" he ordered.  Before the doors shut close he tossed his pistol into the turbolift.  Without the energy cap, it would be useless.   "Tell them to add it to Jett's bill"

As the door closed he approached the woman.

"I'm sorry you had to see that"  Jett said to the woman.  He knelt to the woman and observed her.  "Did he do those bruises to you?"  He asked in a compassionate tone.
The woman just nooded, she still had wet tears in her cheek.  He took his Jacket off and placed it into her shoulders.  "Your safe, I'll protect you"

"I can't leave him...you don't understand me he will find me and kill me if I leave him"  The woman said with fear in her tone.

Jett grabbed his pocket and gave her all the pieces of latinum that he had with him.  "Take this, take the nearest shuttle to Deep Space 5, there is a person there named "Harry"  he is a freighter captain, he is a good man.  He will give you a new identity...get a head start...a head start on your new life."  Tom then gave her the energy cap.  "If he wants prove that Jett sent you give him the energy cap, I am the only person that uses a pulse pistol that I know of"

As he finished the woman looked shocked "Why are you doing this?"

Jett just responded "Because you need to get away from him"

Jett touched his pocked and still felt that he still carried the chip important for him.  He looked at the woman and helped her up.  "I shot his knee he won't be able to follow you for a couple of weeks"

"I need to go" Jett said.  He figured he was staying too long in one spot.  Before he left the woman gently held his arm and kissed him in the cheek.  "Be careful,  there was a murder...I don't want you to die"

Jett responded "Trust me, I don't plan on dying today..."

He began walking as he stopped at a black arms dealers.  He looked at the dealer and wondered if he was going to get a new identification in order to get out of the station.  Jett then looked at the hallway and thought about the murder.

He was not sure if he could help...but someone needed t try and stop the murder.  The first step is to find more information about it.

[Sickbay]

A man crawled into sickbay, his knee was shot and the man was clearly in pain.  "Help!! I have been shot and my wife was taken by a man called Jett...his crazy he even left his pistol behind"

[Location: Cargo Bay 27]

Tritter shifted his gaze towards Doctor Connors, "Let's get the victim ready for transport" The Doctor nodded to the Commander, before he replied with "Understood Sir", he waved over the medical crewman, who had a gurney and a body bag nearby. The mid-20s female wheeled the gurney over and lowered it so they could get the victim onto the gurney. They proceeded to cover her with the body bag, both Tritter and Doctor Connors handled that task, it was obvious by how they handled it that they had done this before. Tritter than looked towards the Doctor and Lieutenant T'Prina "Take her to the morgue, do a full autopsy and report back"

He than shifted his gaze towards Carter, his gaze was intent and focused as he spoke, he stated the following, "Lieutenant proceed to start from the south end of the cargo bay, I will start from the north end, we will work towards the middle, thankfully this is a small and fairly unused cargo bay, so theres not too many crevices to hide, but let's be thorough. Questions?" His directive was clear cut, his tone mellow but there was a hint of seriousness in it, as he took these types of things very seriously and he knew that doing any less than their best is a disservice to their victim who died a horrible death and he wasn't going to risk a chance of not finding out who did it.

Katheryn had watched as the body was removed knowing that they would have more answers once the Autopsy had been performed and the desire to catch those responsible lingered in her veins and would remain there until the case was solved and there was no doubt that they couldn't. Turning her attention back to Chief Tritter when he spoke and informed her what he wanted her to do, she listened then replied " Yes Chief and no questions from me " she said then proceeded towards the south end of the cargo bay.

Academy Commandant

Hust Kinun

[Promenade]

Hust finally regained all of his senses, and turned to look to the group. "Aye sir." he said to the Captain, who had given him a non-order. So he simply turned around and listened a bit to the station's background noise. The Damage Control team was already working on the phase pistol scorches, and so far the only other thing he heard of note was the Chaplain saving him from hours of negotiations with a Ferengi. He walked over to the large Klingon after the Ferengi had scuttled off.

"Thank you, Chaplain." he said under his breath. "Now where should we begin?"

As he said this, he had an idea. "Could we track the weapons signature? The station's sensors should have some details on it."

Problem: He was a Lawyer, not an Engineer. He had no idea where to start to do any of the things he'd just stated. Oh well. You learn something new every day.

Thankfully, it was a small cargo bay and it took him about three hours to go from one end to the other. He had a meticulous method of searching that was efficient and methodical as he worked, it was obvious he was very experienced in this. He left no stone un-turned and for the size of the room, it didn't take him too long. The only... out of place thing he found was a half gallon sized bottle with a pointed nozzle on the top of it.

His focus would than shift towards the Lieutenant, he once she caught up to him, had the container he found in his left hand, he would than ask her, "Did you find anything Lieutenant?" His tone was serious but there was also a curious underlay to his tone. His heavily German accented voice was calm and mellow.

[Hallway-Near Cargo bay 27]

After talking to the woman for a couple of minutes, Jett wondered down the hallway.  He wondered about the murder and who was after it.

Knowing security they have probably checked the area, however not all the data is in the crime scene is with the people around the scene Jett thought.

He walked down the hallway making minimal eyes contacts with the individuals in the floor.  Some of them where worse off.  Jett walked up to group of people started to lean in.

"Hey, you know what's up in this area?  I heard some Starfleet security in this area"  Jett said

Katheryn had been nothing but careful and meticulous since leaving Chief Tritter to scour the south side of the Cargo Bay as she didn't want to miss anything even if it seemed insignificant. However so far she hadn't found a single thing which left her feeling frustrated at the lack of clues that could help them. She knew she shouldn't take it personally and that this could be just a minor setback but by the time the Chief approached her, she noticed the container in his hand and her hopes raised that at least they had found something and replied instantly to his question. " No this area is completely clean Chief, I've searched everywhere and couldn't see anything".

He took a moment before he stated, "Let us go back to Main Security, so we can review footage" Tritter was calm and assertive as he spoke. There was a certain... focus in his voice that was almost scary. He proceeded to turn on a heel and make his way towards Main Security, so that they can go ahead and get to work.

Tritter nodded slightly after she answered and he led her through the various decks to Main Security. The man took a bit of the long way, but he really didn't like the whole turbo lift thing, they were really too small for him. Despite his size, he managed to not hit his head on the bulk heads, which would be pretty easy to do if he was not used to the layout of the Starbase. He would than enter Main Security, a few of the Officers snapped to attention, before he could tell them to carry on, but he did so anyways and acknowledged them with a simple head nod. The man was not one of many words.

He lead her into his office, a place they could watch footage without being... disturbed to say the least. Somewhere away from the hustle and bustle of the base. He took a seat, in one of the few places designed for one his size. He than looked towards her "Take a seat" He would than proceed to log in to the surveillance system and pull up the footage for the Cargo Bay, he had a rough idea of when the victim was burnt, so he set the footage to start displaying roughly about half an hour before the time of death that he had calculated. He had started to play the footage on the large viewing screen in his Office. He watched silently and intently to the footage, until he saw a young female carrying another female into the cargo bay. He proceeded to allow it to continue to play, once she got within about 30 feet of the camera, he stopped it and proceeded to zoom in, he sighed a bit "Their Starfleet", it wasn't necessarily what he expected, but he knew to treat it like any other case. He allowed the footage to resume, the victim put up no fight as the other female placed her on the deck and proceeded to pose her.

To him, it was very curious how she managed to do that without even the victim moving. It really baffled him why she didn't put up a fight, she had to know something bad was going to happen. He noticed that the suspects eyes turned gray... Completely gray, he had seen that before, only once though and he would have to do some... digging to find out what it meant. He proceeded to watch the young female spray three bottles of fluid, identical to the one he had found earlier, which was dropped off for evidence onto the other female, before she proceeded to light her on fire using a simple lighter... He found it curious how she flicked the lighter three times before actually lighting the victim on fire. The victim never moved, Tritter watched intently, although he didn't happen to see if watching such would be traumatic to Lieutenant Carter, but he knew this also came with the job.

Katheryn had silently followed behind Chief Tritter as he led her through the various decks noting that he had taken a longer way but she welcomed it as not only would it keep her fit but also allowed  her to understand the layout of the station a bit better. They soon arrived at their destination and after acknowledging those they passed with a brief nod and smile before continuing to follow the Chief into his office and took a seat as requested.

Watching as he then pulled up the footage from the Cargo Bay, her attention not wavering from what she was seeing and when he stopped and zoomed in on the woman couldn't quite believe that she was Starfleet. But what followed next shocked her to the very core, dumbstruck almost with the way the victim had been led to her death and the brutal way in which she was killed. Wondering what had possessed the woman to do such a thing and the barbarity of it yet at the same time knew she couldn't let her emotions get in the way again and that there had to be more to it. Questions forming in her mind and the need to find this woman in uniform intensifying with every second.
