Rosiuh Aviad

Quote

Corridors
He was patrolling the corridors of the base to ensure everything was operating normally when he stumbled across a new face, looking rather lost. He approached him saying "Lieutenant Commander Daniel Howell, First Officer. May I help?"

Rosiuh paused at a corridor juncture to recall the direction he'd need to go when an officer approached him. He came to attention as the man identified himself as the First Officer. "Cadet Rosiuh Aviad, Sir. I was waiting to report to the commanding officer when a call for medical assistance came over from the Chaplain's office. The Commander was in a meeting, I thought it would be more appropriate to respond to the call, Sir." He replied, reminding himself to say the words aloud as he respectfully closed his mind down again. Waiting for the man to reply rather than trying to read him as tempting as the prospect was.

Octavius Reo

[CO's Office]

Octavius' grin only widened when the Captain pointed out how much work there was to be done. "It's a good thing I'm not afraid of hard work, Captain," he quipped as he moved to the chair indicated. However, he soon regretted having sat when the office began to fill with other people.

Hearing Captain Briggs introduce himself, Octavius was quick to his feet. "Not-" the word was half aborted as he realized this was not his office. However, since the word already escaped he chose to finish the thought. "Not at all, Captain. I was just waiting so I could report in when you got here."

The Cadet fell silent as they were joined by another person. A look of confusion flit across Tav's face. He had not known they had sent out for a team from the Corps of Engineering, but maybe they needed all the help they could get? Still, being severely outranked by everyone in the room, he kept his mouth shut and looked to Captain Stafford a clue as to how to proceed.

"Sir, Commander Zeno Ironherd, Starfleet Corps of Engineering reporting in. I've been sent by Starfleet Command, because of the matter of a zombie infestation causing major damage to your systems."

Kyle didn't know where to start. He looked back and forth between the raw, new Cadet that was standing there looking nervous as hell and the COE Commander that had entered. He finally found his voice and glanced over at his new CO with own confused look. "Zombies, Sir? Mind if I ask exactly what I've walked into?" He had been busy with his therapy and hadn't had a chance to read up on the previous base logs.

He smiled " Yes sir a child sir I was hauled up here on a break and Katie was delivered to me by some one in Starfleet Personnel. Her mum and dad died while on mission. I did not know that they had made a legal guardian of her.. Steve could still see the pain in the young girls eyes despite the fact she had never spoke about her parents. He could hear her sobbing at night despite not knowing how to comfort her. " Sir no questions other than who's your No2 in the department." He was ready to start work now knowing that Katie was safe and engaging with other children. He would not have to worry about her for a while.

Tritter listened carefully to the Lieutenant as the man spoke to him. He would nod slightly once the man was done, he would than add "I understand Lieutenant, as a Father to another, it can be hard. I myself, am a divorced Father and it took a long time for me to explain to my children that despite their Mom having left and not seeing them, that they still are loved. We don't have an Assistant Department Head" He was calm and deliberate as he spoke, he knew all to well what the man was going through.

[Promenade]

"I can't believe this!" Tom said

He looked at his PADD for a couple of minutes as he looked at the Starfleet Starbase cargo procedures.  "How in the heck is my cargo no approved for takeoff?"  He asked himself.  He  did admit the was holding some Andorian relics but he has the proper documentations.  Everything was in order; he understood the importance of following protocols but sometimes Starfleet just gets in the way of common sense.
Fuming he began to talk to the main security office.

[Outside of Security Office]

Tom entered the area right outside his office.  He would first go to the Second Officer Chief of Security to clear out the madness of procedures.  As he entered the area a Security Officer said "Restricted Personnel only"

Animated Tom responded "Look, I just need to talk to the Chief of Security, it's an emergency" As he walked to the controls.  He heard and Officer say "You can't..."  Tom interrupted the officer with the classy remark "Bite me"

He press the Comm unit from outside the Office and said "Chief of Security, this is Captain Jett...I really would like to know an explanation on how in the universe my Andorians Relics are still being inspected after all the proper documentation was given way way in advance.  I know Starfleet has their regulations but I have common sense news to give you all  an Andorian Relic in Andora....it's the same as an Andorian relic on a ship....which is the same as an Andorian Relic on a Starbase...so how about the cut the B.S. get this inspected so I can finish delivery which would get my client out of my ass and then surprisingly I get out of your ass and we all sing together  kumbaya and live happily ever after" As Tom finished he believed he might have taken his sarcasm a little too far.

Tritter than heard an interruption coming from a distance away, the man had pretty keen hearing and he tended to not miss a beat. He would than look at the Lieutenant and stated, "Looks like we have company" As he heard the Comm go off, he sighed a bit, thrills. He would than tap his comm badge "Ensign Davidson, please escort Captain Jett to my office, advise him to have his Transport Paperwork ready" The man's tone indicated that he hoped this would not be a waste of his time. He would than look to the Lieutenant "Time for my favorite part of the job" There was an obvious sarcastic undertone to his comment, as he really loved dealing with these types of matters. After a lengthy and successful career in law enforcement, the man is relegated to looking at transfer paperwork and taking care of these types of things, a real upgrade if you will.

Medical Bay - CMO Office

Jamie's OCD, rather her normal Vulcan tendency for order, had her new office up and running within a few hours.  She wasn't the type to have too many things to move anyway, and most was done by computers.  She quickly delegated responsibility and decided to concentrate on getting the Medical Bay and Department running as smoothly as ever.  She knew that the Virus Epidemic that her formal department was responsible for had left its mark.  The new Columbus CMO could see this as repair crews replaced the airtight windows which were compromised during the misfortunate events.  Jamie sighed and rubbed her forehead just when a call for her came in.

She looked at her computer and quickly recalled the caller and his name.  Nodding she responded, "Mr. Sevoc, please see me as soon as you can, you can make arrangements with my Nurse Judy."  Jamie looked up his information, knowing that, like her, he was a special hybrid that required specific medicinal formulas.  She knew about his insomnia and was afraid it was going to be a little difficult to fix, but Jamie loved a challenge.

Hust Kinun

[Quarters]

Hust was in his quarters, sleeping. He spent a lot of his free time sleeping now, as it helped to soothe the withdrawl that he was being forced into, and at least now the voices of all the minds on the station were silent.

For any other Betazoids on the station with empathic senses. Hust would appear as an erratic mess, his life mind flipping back into and out of field. He was still waiting for the day that he was picked up and carted off to prison... or someone else found out.

Even through his sleep he had withdrawal convulsions, which weren't gonna stop anytime soon. He wanted to sleep for a while longer, but he unfortunately started to awaken.

Kyle was in with his therapist when he heard the summons from his new Commanding Officer. He was given his final release and immediately headed to the Captain's office. He didn't see a Yeoman in an exterior office, so he continued straight for the door. He was summoned after all so Captain Stafford was expecting him. The doors parted and he entered with his eyes falling upon a young Cadet already there. He quickly came to attention.

"Captain Briggs reporting as ordered, Sir. My apologizies. I didn't realize someone else was already here." he added.

[CO's Office]

"Captain, come right in. And no worries." Stafford said, and studied Briggs frankly.

The other captain was a tall, older, grizzled looking officer with the eyes of a Starfleet veteran, and he spoke in a rich and unexpected Irish accent. He was also a great deal more fit than Stafford: he estimated Briggs's height at over six feet and his weight at a lot over 200 lbs. Stafford wondered if he would ever have such a commanding presence.

"Captain, this is Cadet Reo, one of yours." With a dip of the hand Stafford indicated the young Serosian man. "I was just telling him that you'd be along to tell us the damage situation here. Now, I know this is your first day and you're only reporting in, but I do hope you've had a chance to gather up some data for a damage report."

His voice was friendly but frank. Stafford believed in treating others how he would like to be treated, and not coddling. And if there was one person he would definitely not coddle it was a Starfleet officer, a former CO, and someone equal to him in rank and experience.

As he walked to Captain Stafford office, the admiral was getting some odd looks because he was in a yellow engineering uniform. Lucky the holographic disguise was working, but he wonders why he was getting old looks. In his left hand, he had a tool kit for any immediate repairs, but it also helped to sell his cover! A few moments later he makes his way through the CO open door.

"Sir, Commander Zeno Ironherd, Starfleet Corps of Engineering reporting in. I've been sent by Starfleet Command, because of the matter of a zombie infestation causing major damage to your systems." The disguised admiral said while trying not to winch because of what he seen on his way to Stafford office.

[CO's Office]

"Commander...Zeno, is it?" Confused, Stafford called up some data on his PADD. About all he had on the name 'Zeno' was that it was the name of an Isaurian Greek ruler of the Byzantine Empire. "I'm afraid I am not..."

"I see you haven't been informed." Captain Stafford said. He rooted through his desk, fingers skipping over an old Rod of Asclepius pin he'd gotten from a medical conference back in the day, an open packet of venison jerky his uncle had given to him back when they'd hiked Allegheny National Forest, and finally found another PADD in his desk.

"Check this out," Stafford said, whipping the PADD at Briggs like a tiny discus. "All of you. Last month the Columbus was ordered to dispose of some dangerous pathogens. We were the only facility, Federation or otherwise, with the right equipment to do so. But something went wrong. Containment failed and all of our telepaths began to behave strangely. Much like the undead. Thanks to some heroism from your Executive Officer, Daniel Howell, and our security Chief, Mike Tritter, the station was saved."

Addressing the other senior-most officer in the room, Briggs, Stafford said, "Captain, I'm honored to have the former commanding officer of the Discovery here. I was her Executive Officer back in the day, I will have you know. In any case, I wish I had time to sit around and tell war stories, but we do not. Would you be kind enough to take Cadet Reo here and get me a damage report?"

To the mystery commander, Zeno, Stafford said, "And I'll sort you out myself, commander. If there was a transfer I wasn't notified."

Vem, son of Motag

The raggedy Klingon kept convulsing on the ground and vomited. His aid grimaced and wiped his mouth.

"Where are those medics!" He said, finally finding his spirit enough to get a little angry.

Ensign Montek didn't want to say what Vem took. He'd helped the Chaplain get ahold of them and, while not illegal, were not intended for use by Klingons and definitely not in the quantities he took them in.

"Vem... what were you thinking..." The ensign said bracing his chin like they taught him in first aid class as the raggedy Klingon convulsed on the floor of his office.

Medical Bay - CMO Office

Jamie frowned realizing that it took something powerful to cause a Klingon discomfort let alone knock him out, and this worried her.  "My team should arrive soon, he'll have to be brought to the Medical Bay."  She gave the question one more try, hoping that the man would remember something about what the Chaplain took.  "Are you certain that you do not know what he took....it is so important that I have a counter drug...if it remains in his system for too long it could do a lot of irreversible harm."

[Chaplin's Office]

The Medical team arrived and immediately attended the Klingon that was in obvious distress.  Dr. Tran, a petite but very quick Human doctor began a scan with his medical tricorder.  He forced Vem's head to one side not caring if he got mess on him.  He nodded to the medical emergency technician and the tech called for an immediate transport to the Medical Bay.

Kyle was already reading the PADD and listening to the Captain at the same time. Zombies? he thought. He looked back up and gave a firm nod. "We'll get to those stories later, Sir." he said with a grin. "And you'll have your damage report within the half hour." he added as he turned to the young Cadet.

"Please to meet you, Mister Reo. Let's get down to Engineering and get the Capatin his report."

He turned without receiving a reply and headed out. There was no doubt the young man was right behind him.

Shani

[Deck 110 - Lower Tower, Shuttle Bay 3]

The head of Flight Control, this Lieutenant 'Avi', did not have the chance to regale her with any kind of inappropriate stories that Stafford wished to enrich her with. Shani nixed the pleasantries when she saluted, asked for her orders, and unraveled her sleeves for the long haul of engine repair and replacing tractor beam circuitry. Her impeccible beauty was quickly marred by grease, sweat, and the stench of coolant, but she soldier on with a straight face and a passion to get each task done.

She only stopped herself from reinstalling her sixth shuttle's warp core because Avi waved her over. Shani gave a long look at the engine and then primly climbed down. She fetched a dirtied rag for her stained fingers when Avi padded to her.

"Wow!" he gestured over her shoulder excitedly. "The B-1678 already, huh? You already finished-"

"Six shuttles, two roundabouts," Shani agreed softly. "They're in working order, sir. However, I highly recommend a coat of paint for appearance's sake." Ugly ships lowered crew morale. It was a scientifically proven fact.

He placed his hands on his hips and beamed kindly at her. "How about a break, Ensign?"

Shani looked affronted. "I beg your pardon?"

"You skipped your first break two hours ago. Get yourself cleaned up and get something to eat." Before Shani could open her mouth again, Avi added, "That's an order."

Extremely inefficient. Even when her stomach growled. Her lips pursed when she grazed her clothed belly with clean fingers, rolled her eyes, and then marched off for a quick hop into the sonic shower and then to the Promenade.

Hust Kinun

[Quarters]

He finally awoke, and slipped out of bed. He put on some civilian clothes, and left the room, walking to the promenade, where he began wandering, trying to find somewhere to go, but also to keep an eye on the place around.

Technically, he was still listed as Missing, but nobody had come to confirm that fact yet. Nor had he found the will in him to remove that qualifier from him. He was doing his job, for at least as long as he still held that job. He didn't know where he was going, but he wandered around nonetheless, hoping for something to distract him.

He had a phaser with him, concealed under his jacket, but he didn't think he'd ever need to use it.

Zeno replied before turning and leaving the office in an almost military walking, consistent of MACO training. The disguised admiral was going all out to confused the Captain and pull the largest prank to date on him, but it could also eventually backfire on him too.

He just had to get out of here, disappear and get to the Security Office as the admiral to deal with four Ferengi's that caused a nightmare not so long ago. As soon as the disguised Admiral was out of the office, he made a beeline for the nearest turbo lift. As the turbo lifts open, he sighs in relief that it's emptied and enters. As soon as the doors swish closed, he deactivates the holo disguise revealing his Admiral uniform and pips. Hiding the holo device in a pocket, "Security Office."

The turbo lifts start moving downwards at a good rate of speed but not the fasted like during a red alert scenario.

[Main Security Office]

As soon as he walked off the turbolift, he heard the commotion going on and decided to offer a piece of advise. "Mr. Tritter, if he's complaining about the inspection of his goods, why not do a full ship inspection to make sure his freighter up to snuff. That should take what, three to four days if Engineering has the time to do it? If not, a few weeks delay...."

Steve over heard the Admiral that had arrived in the office to make a through check of the ship.

This made Marshall laugh. Impatience of one man now had caused him to be held longer. "  would you like me to conduct the search of the freighter".
