I would like to announce two promotions that take effect as of August 1st, 2016.

First is Lieutenant JG Daniel Howell to full Lieutenant, and Second Officer of Columbus!
Second is Crewman Crewman Marco Benitez to rank grade of Petty Officer 3rd Class.

Congrats to the both of you on your promotions.

We welcome a new player, ISAAC to the starbase. He will be joining our Operations Department.

Hey everybody!

I'm sure you've all heard, but I will be taking over the CO spot here on the Columbus. I'm  hoping that activity will pick up, and that the Starbase will become our fifth place to role-play here in the Fleet and all but name.

I have just launched our third mission, and the first one under my tenure. Shortly, I will be adding to the database and modifying the rosters to update our current crew.

Columbians! (Colombians?)

We have had a whole mess of new joins since the onset of our mission just five days ago.

Hust Kinun is Shadow Fleet's first JAG officer. I'm honored he's breaking in this concept on the Columbus.

Galen Taryn has stepped up to be our Ops woman, a position sorely needed. My thanks to her for doing so.

Sevoc has joined our Science Department with a daring new half-Vulcan, half-Andorian character. I'm excited he's with us.

Finally, I wanted to pass on mine and Daniel's appreciation for you all going above and beyond to be so active. Right now, the Starbase Columbus is the most active SIMM in the Fleet. Imagine that!

Our mission is going very well and I'm thrilled about our prospects going forward. Thanks again all.

Hey team!

I just put up a write up for the Strategic Operations Officer position. Essentially, this is a second officer spot with a bit more to roleplay and some more work needed from the player.

Daniel and I are not "hiring" for this position just yet, but it is on the roster and so I thought some more clarification was needed.

In other news, our first mission is going well. A major plot point has just been revealed by our own Ensign Sevoc. Thanks to him and everyone else for making this such an enjoyable mission thus far.

Lieutenant Junior Grade Ashley Weir is joining our Science department!

I've worked with Ashley's writer before and have nothing but great things to say about him. I am looking forward to the notion of having a xenolinguist aboard!

Also, I have created a wholly original stolen from Constance's on the Athena Welcome and Recognition thread like the other SIMMs for our use.

As I am sure you have all read, the site will be down in a few hours until Wednesday. This wasn't an unforeseen event, but it does force us to alter our current plot a bit.

Stay tuned. We have just dropped a major plot point that we may have to rap up in the holodeck if we don't have time to before the end of the month.

Good afternoon everyone,

We're back from our recent server maintenance! I am told that it was successful but we still have a bit more to go, probably this weekend. Don't hold me to that, however. For now, I am sure we are all glad that Shadow Fleet is back.

I recently put up an important thread in regards to the roleplay environment here on the Starbase Columbus. Essentially, we are all going to be collaboratively writing our next big story arc together. Right now, we are are most focused on creating a new villain species or group of species. I have a rough draft for a mission for this group, but would be willing to rewrite when the species ideas come down the pike and are agreed upon.

Finally, it is with the utmost pleasure that I announce that our very own Daniel Howell has been promoted to full lieutenant commander, command division, and will be our Executive Officer in truth instead of in name. Over the past month, Daniel has proven himself to be creative, adaptable, and active. In addition, Daniel has been acting XO for the entire tenure of the Columbus and has done extremely well. I have no doubt he'll continue to serve on the Columbus with distinction. This promotion will be handled in character at the start of the next mission, but goes into effect immediately.

I am also pleased to welcome Ensign Alex Harmon to our Operations department! For now, all of our departments are full with great writers. We're going to need it for our next mission...

Good morning!

Our new mission has begun. It involves something of a horror theme. Seasonal!

I am also so very happy to announce that we will be joined by a longtime Shadow Fleet player in the role of a mission specialist. Dr. Jamie McConnell is dipping her toe into the water for a month with us to see if she can handle the workload of coming back to us full time. She wrote this mission and so I thought it would be appropriate for her to help us out with it.

I am very pleased to announce that Chief Michael J. Tritter has been promoted to full lieutenant and our Second Officer. Mike has been with Shadow Fleet for quite a while now, and is an active player with a unique writing style that we all enjoy. He's never shy about offering his opinions, and I have no doubt that he will continue to contribute to making the Columbus a special place to roleplay.

Our mission has just hit its stride with a major development just being dropped. I encourage you all to read the mission carefully, take part, and have fun.

I am also happy to report that Louisa Willows has rejoined the Columbus! She was also kind enough to switch the engineering department for reasons of roster balance. Louisa has my gratitude for jumping outside of her element to help us out.
