You have to be invited to be a command officer, sadly. At least that's what it was for me. That was my first experience at being XO, and I exploited it to be an ENORMOUS git

Sign up below with your preferred and second preferred positions before this Friday, October 19th, when we'll also announce the two officers who have been selected to run this fleet-wide event as the Commanding Officer and First Officer respectively.

The way that this works is that all missions will be put on hold while the fleet collectively works together on the special mission. It will last probably a couple weeks, though I am not entirely sure of the time frame for it, you can find out more on the in the fleet calendar. It will be handled much like an individual ship's mission, but in this case, it will have people from all of the ships.

I know, but I think it's just hilarious that Shatner's ego is so monumental and that Kirk is so epic in his mind that in the one film he makes himself he makes the main antagonist be "God" who ends up being killed in an attempt to kill his character.
