" We may have to do it. I'm hoping it doesn't come to it. The entire system is dark, and the fleet is still gone. We need to get a message out to them. "

Connor nodded. "Once we've got got to the surface, we'll be able to use the communication systems in Starfleet Command. Talking of which, has there been any communication from the surface? We might have help down there." He said.

" I've been trying. Somehow there jamming us. I can't get through to the surface or the third fleet. "

Price nodded thoughtfully. "There might be a way to break through. The Borg do tend to be good at adapting to these things, so if we make contact it'll be only for a few minutes." He turned to leave. "Well, I'll get down to Engineering, get everything ready." His mind was already occupied by the numbers and procedures he'd need to do to prepare the ship. It was going to be tough.

Shelaf watched the crewmen filter into the shuttle bay, a long line of security and flight personnel. As he watched the crew take their seat, a thought struck him.

=/\=Greegy to sickbay. Could Doctor Meadows report to shuttle bay one?=/\=

Trisha Xoran

Things were not looking to good.Trisha needed to think of a way to revive Alyssa quickly, but it appeared that conventional methods would not be the key to success.

Trisha sighed before tapping her commbadge. =/\= Sickbay to Greegy, this is nurse Xoran. Doctor Meadows is currently unconscious with no clear sign of when she is going to wake up. Can I leave a message?=/\=

Shelaf would've grinned had the report not been so dire.

=/\=I need some medical assistance for an away mission. Could you come down to the shuttle bay?=/\=

=/\= On my way=/\= Trisha said before she got a mental kick from Falroy =/\=...sir=/\=

She closed the communication line between herself and the Master Chief. The stress was just continuing to pile up on her, like dirty dishes in the sink of a bachelor.

"Computer," she began followed by the computer's beep of acknowledgment. "activate the Emergency Medical Hologram." The computer beeped again followed by the materialization of a man with semi-curly hair.

"Please state the nature of the medical emergency." The hologram spoke in a dry voice. His arm was grabbed by Trisha and she escorted him over to the ICU bed.

"The Chief Medical Officer is unconscious and on the verge of becoming unstable again." Trisha explained. "I have to go on an away mission. It's your job to make sure that she stays alive. Notify the command staff if she wakes up." With that, Trisha grabbed two med kits and began to leave the room.

At the threshold, with one foot in the hallway and the other in sickbay she turned quickly and pointed to the crew member working. "You," Trisha said, "Make sure to help the EMH whenever necessary." And with that, she made her way to the shuttle bay.

Shelaf looked up as Trisha entered the shuttle bay. He walked over to greet her. "I've alerted the bridge about Dr Meadows." He said, handing her a PADD with the operation details. "I hope she's stable and safe. On that PADD is details of the operation." He lowered his voice. "I expect some serious injuries. We may also lose one or two to assimilation. Can you see any other issues?" Shelaf asked, still quietly.

"Other than the fact that you are completely insane?" Trisha answered the question with her own question, "It should be fine, granted the ship is not detected and fired upon when we begin our descent." This was risky, yes. If they failed, it would greatly cost them, but they had no room for error. Hopefully this plan was worth leaving Alyssa's side.

This time, Shelaf did smile. "Well, if we survive, I'll be straight in for a check up." He said, then he turned and walked over to the centre of the group that had mustered. He gestured for Trisha to take a seat. "Can your medical staff handle this? If so, assemble a few of your best, enough to cover this many people safely, and get them here ASAP." Shelaf told her. "Then, we can begin."

"They better be able to handle this," Trisha said, "if not, I'm sure that Doctor Meadows will have a lovely chat with them all."

Trisha took the next four minutes to reach all the medical officers that were off duty. When she explained to them what was going on, she was met with some slight opposition, but after reminding them the wrath that would await them if they denied such an order, they abandoned their opposition.  When it seemed like everything was in order, she returned to the meeting spot.

"They are on their way." Trisha reported.

Scott Bradley

Scott stood on the bridge. It was approaching. Shelaf's plan was about to move into action.

=/\=  Bradley to Greegy =/\=

" How are we looking chief? "

Alyssa couldn't see or feel. She was left with the feeling of being completely numb. Whatever had been making attempts to get at her for the past several months finally succeeded, for she didn't even feel like a person anymore. Instead, she was just a large lump of mass that seemed to exist for no apparent reason. It seemed to be all over.

[sickbay; As EMH]
His internal database had nothing no data on the medical issue that his patient was having. This seemed to be either completely mental, or a new disease that Starfleet had no discovered yet. He smiled to himself as he thought of the possibilities that could occur had this scenario been the later. He could see the headline now, USS Discovery discovers new disease. What a wonderful thought!

Everything must be earned, for if it is given, there are no lessons learned.

Kale Bridges

Sitting by the console Reece sighed heavily. He still had no plan as to what to do.

"The borg are probably in control of the orbital defenses. So we can't even escape ourselves. We need to take them offline." He announced to the Ensign.

He stood up and took a look at the console.

"Oh those sons of.... they're jamming the signal. People could still fall right into their trap. Ensign, try and get the jamming field offline. I'll see if I can find a relatively safe way to reach the orbital command centre."
